History

Established in 1984.

Prior to founding Kama’aina Catering & Services in 1984, Head Chef & owner Brian Wada traveled the world learning new recipes and giving them a local touch. Specializing in corporate events, baby luaus, graduation parties, and weddings, Kama’aina Catering & Services goes above and beyond to make any event a memorable one, and is one of the few companies who still use a real imu. I used this company for my child’s first birthday party a year ago… Here I am looking to contact them for her 2nd birthday! Everything was great as all I needed was them to cook & deliver, I had my own kitchen crew available to organize and serve. Food was hot & delicious!

I’m really sad to leave this review because I was so excited about the food. When I first hired Kamaaina Catering for my wedding they were prompt at replying and gave me great customer service. Closer to the wedding though, things started to change. A few weeks before the wedding, two scheduled meetings were forgotten by the owner after we rescheduled to fit his timeline. On the day of the wedding he showed up incredibly late! My ceremony started at 430 and he rolled in at 4! I got ready to walk down the aisle and saw the staff running around with trays of food which made me all the more nervous. After everything finished we were told the pupus were cold and the salad was forgotten altogether. My final count was off as well. The only thing that saved everything was the actual food which got overshadowed by the lack of professionalism. I would be very wary of hiring them, especially if you like things on time and correct. Hope this helps future brides!

Brian and his team are fabulous to work with! They are always professional and offer great advice in planning any type of menu for any occasion! Brian catered our wedding at paradise cove and it was amazing! The team was on time and the food was superb! It looked great and most importantly the food was very good and tasty!
They were all in uniform and looked amazing!
Brian also catered our daughters sweet 16 birthday party! The food was hot, tasty and looked great!
He does a fabulous job and is willing to work with you on making the event superb!
We highly recommend Brian and his team for all of your catering needs no matter how big or small. He makes it so you don’t have to worry about the catering or food! Amazing people to work with!

We used Kama‘aina Catering for our wedding reception, and were very pleased with their services.
They were quick to respond to our various inquiries and adjustments to the menu and our guest count. We also went through them to rent tables and chairs and to provide bartending services.
Everything went just right: they arrived on time, the staff was friendly and on top of things, the food was excellent and exactly what we had ordered. The tables and chairs arrived early and they set them for us.
The event was in a location that required us to take all the food and equipment up an elevator and then about 200 feet down a cobblestone ramp (and back again at the end of the evening). I never heard a single complaint, even though we had difficulty keeping some of the equipment stable on the carts due to the cobblestones.
They cleaned up quickly and neatly, leaving this customer very happy with the results (and delicious leftovers).

Everyone knows that it’s the FOOD that makes or breaks a party. Kamaaina Catering has onolicious food for a reasonable price. Their prices beat competitors HANDS DOWN by couple dollars per head. When you are doing a party of 300+, every dollar can add up. The staff was very friendly, helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. They truly exude what the Aloha Spirit should look like and we are so glad we went with them for our son’s first birthday party. I’ve been to the baby expo 3 times prior to hiring them and their food has always been a winner. (They give out samples at the baby expo). So, reasonable price + awesome food + excellent service, that is a no brainer to me. Would recommend Kamaaina Catering to anyone who loves good food! Thanks to Brian, Eislee, and the rest of the Kamaaina staff. Look forward to having you folks do our family parties in the future.

I will recommend Kama’aina catering to anyone looking for the best experience when under lots of pressure for tasty food to accommodate your party/​event! Brian was courteous, returned all my calls & emails! I even got a few plates to taste test before making my decision to cater through them! Delivery was on point & everything was accounted for! I received lots of compliments on the food (im in the food biz & checked on tables while dinner was served) I am so fortunate to have found Brian & his team! Pick them Pick them!

I was searching for a catering service and came across Kamaaina catering. Brian and I played phone tag a few times and he said he would send me a proposal. A week or more went by and no proposal. I called Brian to see if he was able to put something together for me only to have my question answered with him saying «YEA ILL GET IT TO YOU TODAY» not OK. needless to say I never did receive the proposal so I can only comment on the service which is BAD (less then 1). Hope this helps you decide whether or not to use Kamaaina catering for your event.

Impeccable service! If u r looking for a caterer with experience, no hassles & complete follow thru, this is the only company who can provide all that & more. I have been ordering from them since 1998 & till this very day I go to them for everything, big or small. For starters the owner, Brian is very accommodating (customer service is every customer’s dream). The food is superb with tons of flavor (considering it’s made in bulk), the place is very well organized, not cluttered, his employees are equally inviting & friendly. The two biggest events he’s done for me is my daughter’s graduation from high school & her wedding. Brian is very thorough while ordering, he doesn’t skip a beat. He makes sure every T is crossed & every I dotted. Then when they show up at the event, he’s got everything under control, neither him nor his staff came to me for questions or anything! They did exactly what we discussed & were the least of my problems. They came, set up (using quality disposable, flatware & dishes) cleaned up and they let us keep the left overs, I could go on for days. In short I will continue to order from him for all my gatherings every chance I get. Thank u to Brian & his staff for all they have done to complete my events & made it possible for me to enjoy & be active in the memories my family & friend’s were creating. U always made it possible for me to focus on the celebration at hand. I look forward to many more years of Kama’aina Catering being the one to complete our very special celebrations. Much aloha, JP

Attended a wedding that Kama’aina catered for.
The smoked prime rib is delicious! Not dry, and full of flavor. Hard to come by these days. Try the kalua pig, too. Moist and tasty.
These guys can cater to almost any event, high end, local style parties, weddings, graduations, whatever. Talk to Brian, you’ll get super good food and his professional catering staff.
I recommend these guys for all events, to family and friends alike. The quality of the service is excellent, as well as the quality of the food.

Brian and Linda Wada, owner of Kamaaina Catering wonderful couple. For my wedding 20 plus years Brian and his staff made a beautiful fountain wedding cake. I use Kamaaina Catering for many occasions: School Fundraiser, Thanksgiving Luncheon, Funeral, awesome reasonable prices on Menus and on they rental of tables and chairs. I would recommend using Kamaaina Cater on your next event big or small Kamaaina is accommodate to your requests and needs. Awesome staff.

A friend of mine catered through Kamaaina back in 2004 and since then I have and always be a fan! There food is awesomely good! Nice and taste kalua pig (not burnt and bland), the lomi salmon is not to tomatoey and they are not stingy on the salmon. They use actual coconut mild to make the squid luau, OMG my favorite squid luau to date! They have reasonable priced menus, offer the option of renting tends and chairs for your parties. They will delver the food on all orders but for a fee. Minimum orders of 50 up to 300! Give uncle Brian Wada a call, local guy, outgoing, and again offers the best food ever! Allllright… Chiii ;)
