Established in 2009.

Private Chefs Maui started as a side project during my time working at a restaurant. Since then it has grown into a fully operational company with multiple chefs and a variety of services, all based on hospitality and delicious food. We are based in Haiku at our commercial kitchen, and service all of Maui islandwide.

I grew up in the Los Angeles area and have been cooking since childhood. Immediately after graduating high school, I enrolled at the California Culinary Academy in downtown San Francisco. I earned my degree and graduated youngest in my class in 2003. I did my internship here in Maui and fell in love with the island, I have been here ever since. I love Maui for its amazing local ingredients, warm aloha, and beautiful variety of ecosystems.

The staff, chefs, food and service were all impeccable. We used this team for my mother in law’s 65^th birthday and it was a huge hit. The staff really catered to our needs; they were attentive, kind and a pleasure to be around. They set up the table beautifully, they answered all our questions and the food was just incredible. I highly recommend these guys for any sort of catering, private meal etc. Thanks a ton for everything!

Chef John cooked a fabulous meal for our family to celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary and three birthdays. We had a wedding vow renewal at our wonderful oceanside villa in Puamana, and John and his associates served the delicious meal afterwards. It was a surprise to me. My husband selected Chef John after looking at a number of websites. He felt John offered the right combination of food, ambiance, and service that was elegant but in the casual nature of the occasion. We so much enjoyed his creative preparations of local foods. Everything he did was perfect! We did not want to go out to a restaurant after the ceremony, and having John prepare a private meal at the house enabled us to enjoy the rest of the evening and family conversation. We also had a great conversation with John and his associates after after the meal, and found we had a lot in common. They left our kitchen spotless as well. What a wonderful experience — one that put the perfect cap on a memorable occasion.

This was the first time doing something like this for my family of six and had no idea what to expect. Well, let me just say, John set the bar high! It quickly became obvious to all of us that John is passionate about what he does. He and his assistant made us feel like we were the most important people in their lives that evening. Every dish served was over-the-top creative as well as delicious. From start to finish, John was a pleasure to work with and created an experience for us that my family and I will never forget! We hired John for our entire week in Maui and experienced fabulous 3 course meals every evening. A unique and perfect variety of foods each night prepared to perfection. We never had the same thing twice. Our Kids 14, 16 and 27 equally LOVED everything he prepared and best yet~ I set him loose to create the menu each night and I did not have to do a thing. He and his assistants were a joy to have in the house~

We had John and Anthony come over and prepare dinner for my wife’s birthday. John prepared a four course dinner for six of us that was truly outstanding. Every detail was covered from dietary restrictions, to their familiarity with our villa at Ho’olei, to the candle for wife’s desert. Interaction with John prior to the event was pleasant and timely. He and Anthony could not have been anymore engaging especially with my 15 year old niece who watched them prepare the meal and posted it to snap chat. Table was set upon arrival and after cleanup you did not even know they were there. A truly memorable experience which my family will not forget. Thank you John and Anthony!!!

We had a wonderful five course dinner prepared by John. He and his assistant were cheerful, friendly and the food was amazing. We enjoyed this delicious feast on the lanai overlooking the shimmering water. The stunning sunset was the icing on the cake! We would highly recommend John if you are visiting Maui and want and extra special culinary experience…

What a great, personal, high quality experience! Last week, we had John prepare two fantastic 4-course dinners for our family of six. Both meals were easily the most memorable dinners we had while visiting Maui. Every detail was meticulously planned and pleasing to both the eye and palate. We had John come the first night of our arrival, and what a great decision that was. Our teenage kids absolutely loved it. My wife and I raved over everything, and we were able to enjoy ourselves as we relaxed in our stunning Maui villa while John and his assistant did all the work. The fresh food, Maui onions, and just the right amount of heat in all the dishes… fantastic. The dessert was killer. When dinner concluded, we would have been really sad if we hadn’t planned on John coming back again in a couple nights. Having his services twice in the same week… now that was a great decision! The second dinner was just as exquisite and even more relaxed. We were truly sad to say goodbye; it felt like saying goodbye to a close friend. My family and I would highly recommend John’s services. Trust me, it’s better than any restaurant experience you will have on Maui.
