If I could give a zero I would, do not see this doctor. My father in law passed under his care and my father’s treatment was headed in he same direction. Gross mismanagement of medications and conditions. If any quality care once existed, it is long gone and it is time he retires before injuring more people who rely on him for help.

I just recently decided to see how my doctor rates on Unilocal.«What»? So I looked into the few post. Yes only 2 or 3 OLD reviews, and 2 are from a muti doctor location in San Diego. I’ve been going to see Dr Rutman for over 3 years at the only location I know, Vista. And he is the only doctor at this location. Consider the fact that the 2 poor Unilocal reviews at the muti doctor location down in San Diego are manly complaining about the way the office in San Diego operates. «Not Dr. Rutman». So that said, here’s my personal experience with Dr Rutman at his Vista office. Never have a been kept waiting more than 5 mins. I normally get there early on hopes to get out sooner as well. Sometimes it works out well. But never have I experienced a major wait time. Now the reason I keep going back to doctor Rutman’s is the personal «unrushed » attention. «I’m not there for the waiting rooms selection of reading material» (what a retard to complain about that on Unilocal!). His staff has always been nothing but professional & friendly. Several time I had additional issues that I didn’t think of till I got there yet they accommodated me & made me feel like my time was just as important as theirs. A few times I have been referred to a specialist by Dr Rutman to verify a condition & treatment. Each time that experience went as I was told & to a facility that’s was top of the line & very professional. These experiences with Dr Rutman & the Vista office staff is why I have been going here over the years even though I don’t live in Vista. I feel my health is worth the drive.

The wait times are excruciatingly long, and there isn’t even decent reading material or art to keep you occupied while you’re sitting there feeling like an idiot in your drafty paper gown.
Every time I’ve been to the office, there have been as many pharmaceutical representatives as patients in the outer waiting room.
Dr. Rutman gives the impression that he couldn’t care less if you live or die, as long as your insurance pays up and you don’t ask him a bunch of annoying questions or try to make eye contact.
This doctor is the reason I finally switched from an HMO to a PPO.

This place is run like a factory with appointments always double or triple booked. Dr. Rutman comes off as socially inept, which may be a byproduct of the fact he always has 5 other patients waiting on him in other rooms. (or it could be Asperger’s Syndrome?) He does not like you to ask questions and in fact appears psychologically threatened by inquiry or attempt to understand his thought process or failed past treatments.
The entire office looks like a pharmaceutical marketing hell. I can guarantee that if there are a variety of prescriptions for a given condition, you will always walk out with one for the company that has a poster on the wall. I’ve never seen such a blatant and shameless display of branded marketing posters, pads, clipboards, clocks, exam table paper, diagrams, models. If you can’t afford it, just get out of the business. please!
