The bartenders Alex and Hugo took care of me very well. Even accommodated my vegetarian restrictions, worked with kitchen was unwilling to but in the end got me to something to eat. The View from the patio is the bonus :)

I was a little hesitant to go to Aqua Bar after reading the poor reviews, but was glad that we ended up stopping by. Despite the complaints about the service, we actually found it great. The bartender and server were both very friendly and attentive. While I just ordered drinks, I liked that they had some local selections, as well as happy hour on the weekends. My friends got a bite to eat, which seemed reasonably priced and they had no complaints about. I also appreciated the fact that they had two different size options for a good portion of the bar food items. The ambiance is nice and the outdoor fire pits are a nice way to watch the sun set or pass the day.

I don’t think this is Aqua bar anymore but I can’t find the new name on Unilocal.Either way don’t waste your time. Only giving 2 stars Due to beach view out on patio. They had 1 waitress for entire inside and outside bar on a Sunday. Managers standing around watching her get slammed. I waited 29 minutes for my tab even thou I stood up and waited by register. Manager not once asked if I needed something as I stood there. Drinks are awful bartenders doesn’t really make a good mixed drink tastes like pure sugar in a straw. I’ve been here a few times as I’m a local and each time is worse then the previous. Done with them. I’ll take my $$ to aloha across the way.

There was a ridiculously long wait considering the fact there were three bartenders and about six people at the bar. Icing on the cake: I go to order a final round and close out my tab and and the bartender decides to interrupt her progress for someone who walked up to the bar after me and make him a drink. Which involved pink champagne mind you… That’s a nice way tear in one of the few shitty tips I have ever left. Do not come here for six dollar beers… What a sad waste of space for the best view in Ventura

I visited the bar twice while staying in the hotel for a week. The first time, I sat in the lounge area for almost 15 min before getting up and walking away. The waitress walked past me three times and didn’t stop. They weren’t busy. HH in the hotel restaurant and across they way. The second time was a little better, I actually was able to place an order without losing my patience. The ice in the rum & coke was starting to melt before the bottle of wine was opened. Two things I noticed ~ the staff stands around socializing WAY too much and the bartender is also making all of the drinks for the restaurant across the lobby. The best thing about this bar is the view of the ocean. They really should have a set time to light the fire pit instead of being hounded by guests to get it lit.

Consider all reviews verified! Service is a freaking ZERO! Just go to the bar, order a drink and seat yourself…

The view is awesome and the fire pit is just lovely. The food has been just fine. But the service is the worst I have ever had. EVER. I stayed at the hotel for a few weeks, so you would think this would be the go-to place for a beer loving, tired worker. I swore it off after the second unpleasant visit that left me wondering if I had offended them somehow. I returned a third time thinking that I would sit at the bar and have a quick beer and a burger, but the bad vibe made me want to get out of there so I changed my order to go and left as fast as I could. I returned one last time to grab a quick beer to go, left upset, and will never go back. The waitstaff are cranky and make no effort to mask their displeasure at having to do their jobs, and do indeed stand around bitching about customers — in front of other customers. I have been stunned that they are not even able to return a «how are you?» or even a frickin smile. They make no effort to be pleasant or helpful. You guys need to hire some people who give a shit. Getting a beer and dinner at the beach should not suck.

I have been here a handful of times because of the location. Who wouldn’t like a bar right on the beach?! The drinks are good, happy hour is reasonable… But service is slow! The waitresses stand around gossiping instead of doing their job. Crowne Plaza could do more business if they hired more experienced wait staff or provided some hospitality training.

location is fabulous. great view of the pacific and the Ventura pier. amazing firepit. food is average. drinks are okay. service is awful. just terrible. my guess is that they don’t care because there are so many tourists. well, I’m not a tourist and I am disgusted

Great Bar on the Beach. Good for Happy Hour while watching the sunset. Good place to eat lunch on Ventura Beach. Service is slow and bar staff is not overly friendly
