Boyfriend & I came here for a date night. Prices are on par with most steakhouses, food good but not memorable. His filet mignon was cooked perfectly, but covered in a peppercorn sauce that he said overpowered the entire dish. I had the sea bass that was on special. It was good, but fairly blasé and not something I’d order again. Drinks were good, reasonably priced. Apps were both good.

This review is mixed– as — accordingly with other reviews, it is apparent that the service AND the quality of the food at the Aloha Steakhouse is variable and unpredictable. After visiting there a few weeks ago with two friends as a party of three — and sitting outside in the patio area –we had a memorable meal in which the steaks(ribeye and New York strip) were perfectly cooked exactly as ordered. The avocado-jalapeño appetizer was really delicious and the gin-gin mule happy hour drink was REALLY terrific. Not sure what kind of ginger beer or the like they use in it but it is terrific — and I am not much of a drinker. However, the margarita that my friend ordered was absolutely horrible and was from a mix and not fresh. I told him to order a gin-gin mule and he loved it — a wasted amount of money on the margarita. Waitress was TERRIFIC and really knew her stuff. Steaks were among the best I have ever had. THEN!!!- Was so good I started telling people about it that live in Ventura and they all told me they had been there and had bad experiences and were not going back. But I still called another friend and three of us returned last night for another try. We missed the happy hour — but the gin-gin mules were still outstanding. This time, the avocado appetizer came and apparently the frying oil must not have been hot enough as the wonton wrapper was somewhat leathery and not so good — the inside filling was great . Dinners came — and everything good — EXCEPT — one of us ordered New York Strip cooked MEDIUM and it came more like RARE or MEDIUMRARE — slightly red in the middle. The other two of us ordered Ribeyes MEDIUMRARE and they both came overdone and just BARELY pink in the middle and overdone on the outsides. For 29,00 and 32.00 they need to get it cooked right . The steaks were still good — but if you go there — cut into your steak the MINUTE they deliver it in the MIDDLE of the steak and if it is NOT right — then send it back immediately. Better yet, clarify when ordering rare or medium rare just WHATTHEY mean by that– slightly red in middle, barely pink in middle and what YOUWANT for yours(for 32.00 or more !!!) We were not in the mood to be pesky and annoying and send them back — but I DID tell the waitress when she delivered the bill. She didn’t seem to be too concerned about it and replied («…oh sorry — but was your dinner good …») I told her she needed to tell the chef — and she should also have told the manager. They are charging too much for the steaks to come out not cooked perfectly correct — and they should err on the UNDERDONE side so they can be sent back for more cooking and not waste steaks when they are overcooked. One of the friends who went there with us last night had already been there and had overcooked dried out chicken which he DID send back on one previous occasion. Prices simply too high to serve incorrectly cooked food. I might add that the vegetables that came WITH the meal were almost raw and very hard. Broccoli was terrible quality. Avoid the vegetables if they are coming out like that !!! Probably a bad night all around in the kitchen — but it was NOT that busy in there !!!

Great food, reasonable price. Try the ahi app. Leanne was fantastic. She handled out big group beautifully, allowed us to split checks, and was a champ dealing with birthday candles in the wind.

Great place with excellent service even after we arrived without reservations on a busy Friday evening. We were still able to snag seating on the patio at the big round table. Nice ambiance with amazing food! They also gave us a military discount. We will definitely be back soon!

This place is amazing. I made reservations and we were seated quickly. Our server was Bailey(sp not sure) but she was amazing. She made great food recommendations and my family loved it. Food did take a little longer than expected and kids were getting fussy but at the end they enjoyed their food and we had a great time. Can’t wait to visit this place again …

I’ve been staying the Crown Plaza, across the walk, so I’ve been eating here quite a bit. The ambiance is appropriate for the type of restaurant that it is. The service is very good(except the couple of young, inexperienced hostesses that I’ve had to deal with). My server Pete is awesome… very attentive and friendly. I go there for the steaks, so I can’t comment on anything else. Their steaks are very good quality and so far(fingers crossed) cooked to perfection. Their wedge salad is an innovative version of a Cobb salad and could be a meal in itself. You get a big wedge of iceberg lettuce, chunks of Bleu Cheese, bacon, tomato and Bleu Cheese dressing. Yumm… Also, if you go there, ask for the Carbbean hot sauce. I can’t remember the name of it, but it is the BOMB.

Amy was our server on a busy Friday night. She did a great job and even recommended the jalapeño margarita, which was amazing! Loved the clam chowder. Only downside was they had run out of the soup of the day. I had the salmon and it was great.

Always great eats and service at Aloha Steakhouse! Can’t complain! Located at in the heart of Ventura, close walk to downtown, next to the Crowne Plaza, conveniently off the California Street exit with direct beautiful views of the water. Great atmosphere and friendly service perfect for burger eats after a day at the beach or some finer dining with steaks, sirloin and seafood. That hula pie though… Mmmmm…

Sat outside for happy hour. Extremely slow service. Our waitress vanished and no one replaced her. Drink order took about 10 minutes, but food was a full 30 minute wait and it was cold. She dropped it off and vanished so we could not ask for a replacement. The crab stuffed mushroom appetizer was a big gip, you only get 3 mushrooms for 5 dollars. The Calamari was tasty although cold. The Aloha Martini was less than half full when delivered. Disappointing experience.

Came here for happy hour with my wife, the prices look good. I ordered the 805 pale girl she just had water. She ordered the cobb salad(which is not on the menu) and I ordered the hot wings and Sliders which were off the happy hour menu. Her Cobb salad look promising however the chicken breast strips were cold. The fries that came with my sliders were also at room temperature or cooler as the hot wings which were also at cool or room temperature(they were very spicy tho). The side of bread which was served presumably from my wife salad or also at room temperature or cold, needless to say not very appetizing. I will stick to happy hour at Lure’s, which had an outstanding happy hour or our regular place at Victoria’s Pub which has no happy hour but outstanding food and great service.

4÷15÷16 Had dinner at the aloha steakhouse and Kenny waited on us as always and his service was impeccable as always the aloha steakhouse has a real gem in Kenny we have been going there for dinner on my birthday for about 6 years he is the best and the reason we go there if you go there for dinner ask for his section and you’ll have the best experience you’ve ever had from any waiter you’ve ever had so personnel and attentive to your ever need guaranteed and have the Kenny steak named after him it’s a fillet mignon cooked in peppercorn sauce with grand mariner that he lights on fire at the end of the dish with about a 3 to 4 foot flame that he cooks at your table unbelievable steak unbelievable service you’ll love it you’ll be able to cut your steak with a fork

To start, the view is fantastic, we watched the sunset while eating dinner. Dinner prices are at a premium level but the food was up to the challenge. The cowboy ribeye is dinner and lunch for the next day and oh so good. Service was good but not perfect due to a couple errors. The table side filet is tasty but a little spicy and sweet. Bananas foster was really good but could use more banana. All in all, a very nice dining experience with a romantic walk by the ocean

Snobby cocktail server! Who made her«the boss»??? So my review/rating from a few months ago just took a back seat. A real far back seat. Ridiculous to think how much money our company spends here as we work nearby and do a lot of Happy Hours here. No more! This Friday night, mid-January, a group of about 8 was meeting there at 5:00 for Happy Hour. I was delayed at the office and arrived later. We were seated outside. When the cocktail server(young woman, brown straight long hair. Yes the one that does NOT smile or say welcome or hello or I hate my job though her scowl on her face says so) came by the table, it was exactly 5:46PM. I ordered a cocktail and she told me happy hour was over??? I said how can that be, it’s 14 minutes until advertised time of 4 – 6 weekdays. I asked if I could order myself up at the bar for the HH prices and she said no, they have closed it out. Okay, SERIOUSLY! I ordered water. We finished our drinks and left and went to a FRIENDLY happy hour at Café Fiore who serves HH prices until 7! We will not be back. Aloha, train your servers to at least smile when they refuse to serve us.

I’m a fan of their happy hour, with their outdoor tables overlooking the ocean, but you have to jump up and run around the hotel for the best sunset view. We have sat inside and outside. Each time, the service was very friendly, and they work hard to get your orders in before happy hour ends. Their happy hour fish and chips are some of the best ever, and their cosmos are quite delicious too. The spinach dip is an ample portion, so ask for extra crostini(the second order was prepared better than the first time we ordered it). Their happy hour red wine is quite tasty too. On our second visit, we arrived with a group of 12, and although you can not reserve tables in the bar area, there was a large round seating area that we nabbed on the patio since we got there early, which worked perfectly. Everyone was very pleased with their food and service, and we’re a tough crowd!

Pricey dinner, but very good. The wait staff was exceptional and the ease of walking over from the hotel next door made this a quick and cozy eveningdinner spot while we were visiting. The wife had the herb crusted salmon and I ordered the teriyaki baseball sirloin, both of which were expertly prepared and delicious. The salad they serve with dinner was amazing, especially if you like salads with a lot of components and flavors. Well done.

This review is strictly for the outdoor patio during Happy Hour; I will make note to change up the review if I ever dine inside for a real meal. Drinks & Service: 4 stars– the drinks here are on point! A very extensive menu for drinks overall, and on the patio while the drinks are more limited they are strong and a great price. Great beers and the«well» drinks are boozy. The Service also made our experience, friendly wait staff, also despite siting outside on the lovely patio we didn’t feel overlooked. Our waitress was even so kind to come over and communicate a last call for happy hour when some places just stick to the cut off point without having their customers aware. Food: 2.5 stars– definitely the food was the downfall of our happy hour patio experience. Great prices and extensive food menu but ewww the food was no good. Fish and Chips were awful, super mushy, no crisp. Tasted as if they fry up a bunch of fish at a time and left it under a heated light before serving it to us. When dinning in Ventura I expect great seafood but this place disappoints. Same with the shrimp cocktail, for happy hour they provided a good amount of shrimp, unfortunately the shrimp also tasted old, very rubbery and small. A Costco/Ralph’s cocktail Tastes better than here. I would definitely come back for the outdoor happy hour atmosphere but I’ll stay clear of the food.

We stoppd by for happy hour(3−6pm) to watch the sunset and have an early supper. The bar area is nice, and has a large outdoor patio. You can look down to the promenade and sea the ocean from the patio. The happy hour menu was small but varied. We had the fish and chips, which was pretty substantial for $ 6.95, and was perfect. 3 medium chunks of fish nicely batterred and fried. The popcorn shrimp were also great, and the spinach dip was fresh made and delicious. The specialty cocktails we had were the Maui martini, Cosmo and Gin Mule. All were excellent, and you can’t beat the $ 5.50 price!

Christi & Jeanette were our servers tonight, & they were both awesome! Customer service was on point, very friendly, their recommendations on dinner options were great & they kept coming to check on us periodically on our New Years family dinner(party of 9). :) We all had different plates, however mine was absolutely delicious I cleaned my plate. Lol I rarely do that! I had a filet mignon asked for it medium rare & received it medium rare! Absolute perfection! I ordered French fries instead of baked or mashed potatoes & those were great! I also had a wedge blue cheese salad with bacon, I could eat that all day long! For dessert we all split a chocolate volcano with Godiva chocolate & a bananas foster, very impressed with both presentations! Super delicious! I had a total of 3 drinks… A Cadillac margarita to start while we waited for our table, a pretty Mai tai while I ate dinner & a cucumber margarita recommended by Christi, all 3 were perfect & super strong! Got my money’s worth for sure lol. Bartender was awesome! All in all this place was perfect! I give it an A+ &5 stars! Made the drive of 90+ miles just to have dinner here at this steakhouse & well worth the beautiful drive & the atmosphere along the pier in the evening! I can’t wait to return! I hope u enjoy this place as much as we did! :) cheers!
