We offer cage-​free overnight dog boarding and doggy daycare for a small number of friendly dogs in our Venice Beach home. We provide a safe fenced yard, several walks a day, daily text/​photo updates, complimentary boarding insurance, and only USA sourced treats. The property is herbicide /​pesticide /​smoke-​free and powered by solar energy. Jan was trained by PetTECH in Pet First Aid & CPR and can administer oral and topical medications and adhere to restricted diets at no additional cost.

The hosts are homebodies and your dog will be happier staying in a real home than in a kennel all alone. At Venice Dog Boarding we will care for your dog like you do and strive to be ‘The Next Best Thing To Home Sweet Home’ when you can’t take your furry loved one with you. Your dog will quickly come to feel like a well-​loved member of our family.

History

Established in 2012.

Your hosts, Jan, and her husband, Bruce, returned to Venice four years ago to retire after 2 decades in the Washington, DC area While their sons were youngsters, Jan operated a licensed infant daycare center in her home in Chevy Chase, MD. First-​time parents would trust her to care for their precious baby.

Two years ago, the hosts opened their Venice Beach home to a few dogs at a time, and now the house feels strangely empty if there aren’t a couple of friendly dogs visiting. We enjoy the company of our dog guests and keep the number of dogs low so that caring for them is also enjoyable. We have had numerous pets over the years, including a Great Pyrenees and a Wheaten Terrier rescue.

When Jan is not playing with, snuggling, or walking dogs, she designs and makes jewelry and tends her gardens. Bruce mentors graduate students and consults part-​time from his home office.

Jan operated a licensed infant daycare in her home in Chevy Chase, Maryland for six years when her two sons were youngsters. Her experience caring for infants and toddlers along with her knowledge of dogs is evident in the conscientious and loving care she will provide for your pup.
