unimpressive, was expecting better based on the Unilocal reviews, but was disappointed. maybe I came on a bad day? but my fish taco was dry and bland and the shrimp one wasn’t much better. I liked the salsa bar and the staff were friendly

We’ve been looking for good food since Monday. Today is Thursday (late lunch.) we’ve eaten out every meal and this is the cheapest and best one so far. Good service from Elias (the young lady with a warm smile.) I am so glad we decided to eat in Venice beach.
Taco platter al la plancha. Two pork tacos and one chicken. My sister got the steak and it is well seasoned and not overdone. Get the rice and beans, a jarritos, but skip the guacamole — it’s not the best.

Yum !!! Love the tiger burrito, the pastor tacos, tamales and breakfast burrito, green salsa amazing!
Great location — take to the beach for a picnic or eat here.
Only down side is there is one size for soda and its small but free refills.

I came for Tamale Sundays and got the chicken and pork ones. They were ok — not bad, not amazing. I liked the pork a little more. The thing that made me feel like a human again after a night out was the Carrot Ginger soup. You HAVE to try it!
There are a few parking spots in front and plenty of patio seating.

I’m very picky with service and food. After reading some bad reviews I was expecting to be somewhat disappointed when my order arrived (ordered before I read reviews) but the delivery was fast, the delivery guy was nice and my food was so dog on good! Definitely going to order again. I had scrambled rancheros, they were soooo good! I would include a photo but I inhaled the food. Next time lol

Ok so, guacamole is not guacamole. It’s avocado salsa, but they also have avocado salsa at the «salsa» bar so you might as well just eat that. The salsa is bland. The pico is decent. I like spicy flavorful Mexican food and this is just the opposite. I’d have to say el pollo loco packs more punch than this place.

I’ve driven past this, walked past and probably should’ve continued walking.
Ordered the street taco and chips n guac. They gave me a tiny $ 2 Taco w slightly burnt carne asada and hard ass shell. The guac looked like pea soup with very little traces of avocado. Only reason for 2 stars is the chips n pico weren’t too bad. Would I return? Heck No!

As a Venice local, I had high hopes for this place, but it has severely failed to meet my expectations time and again. All of their meats are very soggy and when put into a burrito cause it to fall apart. Ive tried to change my mind as its a 1 minute walk from my house, but this place just sucks, I’m done. The food is bland, the beans are kept in water, the chicken is awful and dry and everything just seems like it’s catering to the tourist crowd that doesn’t know any better. Every item on the menu falls apart while eating it and is very disappointing. I’ve tried Burritos, tacos, quesadillas… its all the same. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
I don’t understand at all how this place has 4 stars. It honestly blows my mind.
It’s sad too because this neighborhood so badly needs a quality, affordable place. It would be very easy for them to fix this up. Just stop serving low quality meats and stop storing everything in liquids and it would be way better.
The salsas are halfway decent. Only bright spot.

Well… it’s ok. Nothing to write home about. They’ve made it look/​feel trendy, and surfer friendly which is smart, but they need food upgrading. Upgrading! …not updating, the menu is fine. The flavors and quality are lacking, even in the salsa bar. This food is not expensive to make, I think it should taste better. A little QC will go a long way! Other than that, it’s ok.

I love this place even more now. They have exceptional customer service. They had made several mistakes on my order last week and replaced the whole order for me this week with no charge! Food here is delicious and I feel valued as a customer. Thank you very much, Plancha Tacos. I’ll be back soon and I’ll highly recommend you to my friends.

This is the quintessential beach food.
Fresh, affordable Mexican food in a clean
2 taquitos (went for the braised beef on the recommendation of the charming cashier) and a (refillable) soft drink for $ 5.75 came with a smattering of salad greens and black beans with a delicious verde sauce over them.
Kids meal w/​quesadilla (added chicken for $ 2) came with rice, black refried beans, drink and chips for $ 8.
Super, super loved this place and it’s fun, friendly vibe.

Awesome tacos and super cheap. This was our first lunch when we got to SoCal and you really can’t go wrong. I got the 3 street tacos (Chicken, steak and pork), the wife got a burrito.
You can see them grilling the meat and tortillas right in front of you and putting them all together. Everything was super fresh and the meat actually had some really good flavor. Sometimes with these things, you tend to get really bland meat because they expect the pico de gallo to cover. Not Plancha. Super good. Both of us left full for about $ 20 including drinks.

Excellent, substantial steak & egg burrito. Could feed 2 adults. Includes yummy, fresh grilled veg & perfect avo-​cream sauce, pulling it all together. Under $ 10.
Delicious, super fresh chips were light and crispy. Salsa bar was in need of refreshing, at 10A. Rioja sauce was earthy with a kick.
I’ll be back to try their tacos.

I came here while on vacation. I like the food it’s very fresh and light on your stomach and pricing is just to my like and wouldn’t definitely come here again you don’t get places like this on the east coast.

Food is good, atmosphere is good.
Quick service and they are good with taking large orders. Plenty of seating inside and out. Don’t be fooled by the tiny exterior and parking lot, it is good food.
Beans are cooked in oil, so vegetarians never fear.
One note is that the chicken is dry. It needs a sauce or something to keep up flavor.

You call that guacamole?! Shame on you. Runny consistency as if done with a food processor and no flavor.
Bland and stingy with condiments. Came with a teaspoon of «guacamole» on top of lettuce. No salsa. Called. «You have to request that.» I have to request salsa??? What?

The street tacos were wonderful. We had the steak and the chicken. Delicious, good prices, and pretty fast.
Their breakfast menu also looks great. Can’t wait to go back for that.

Not the best. Not the worst.
Most of the seats were pushed up against the side — so you can look at passerbys in traffic as you eat, or they can look at you as they drive. Sort or like a human fish tank by a traffic light :).
The burritoI ordered was wayy too saturated in beans, sour cream, and no veggies. Save a few pieces of bell peppers randomly wedged in there. The chicken inside was very reminisenct of chucken of the sea. Or dog mulch which was weird.
