Hollister Design /​studio creates human scale outdoor spaces. Our respect for natural forms and a desire to navigate the physical space informs every design decision. We utilize lush plantings and dynamic forms created from simple materials to build environments that integrate landscape, art and nature.

History

Established in 2013.

Owner and lead designer Bruce Hollister started out as an fine artist trained in painting and sculpture at UC Santa Cruz.

After opening a studio in Venice in the early 90’s, Bruce discovered the world of Film and Television from the Prop Master in the warehouse next door.

He worked his way up from a prop maker to a Production Designer, designing Emmy winning shows like the first season of «Survivor» and «The Amazing Race».

In 2012 Bruce was hired to oversee the designs of the HGTV show «Going Yard» staring Chris Lambton and Peyton Wright.

After working with Chris and Payton, and seeing the positive effects a well designed outdoor space can have on people, Bruce opened Hollister Design Studio in 2013.

He brings his experience from the fast paced and budget conscious entertainment industry to the field of Landscape Design.
