I wanted to recommend this company. They were prompt and fair. The technician that came by was honest and didn’t try to sell me a product that would have been more expensive. I highly recommend them

These guys are great! I lost my spare and original truck key, they came out same day and had me on my way. The final price was actually lower than the estimate and were totally honest. They were even nice enough to throw in a spare house key I was needing. Fast, accommodating, and honest; thanks guys!

Excellent service. They came out the day I called and were flexible with my scheduling needs. Alex was very polite and friendly, he did a great job fitting the lock efficiently and left the work area immaculate. I would highly recommend this service.

Over priced. Bad customer service all around. I wish I could give him –stars. Better business Bureau will hear about this soon.

Really terrible customer service. Worst shop around. This guy is a joke. Doesn’t even have standard keys that every other locksmith would have. Stay away.

The owner is extremely skilled and helpful. I would use them all the time if i needed a locksmith. Service calls start at $ 49 + whatever you need to have done, standard good pricing.

I’ve been happily using Advance since 1997. David & his skilled staff have rekeyed dozens & dozens of locks for me, made countless copies and have done a few house calls on tricky locks. As a real estate investor & agent, they have been a key vendor for me & my clients. Highly recommend them.

Went to this locksmith because it was close to home. I needed a lock rekeyed, was quoted a price which included two keys. The man asked to see the key and said it was a common key. When the locksmith got here he quoted a higher price and told me it was an old lock and needed a «special» key. He didn’t have the keys on his truck and needed to go to the shop. I told him I wanted extra keys and he said it is 4.00 per key because it was a special key. I told him forget it. He did give me two keys but I had to pay a higher price than I was quoted. After he left I went to Dick’s True Value Hardware and got the «special» keys for 92 cents each!

I was referred to this business for help making keys for the school I work for. I drove all the way from Santa Clarita to arrive at a locked door. The hours listed stated they were still open so I gave them a call. They decided to close early and failed to put a sign on the door to let customers know. Situations like this are very disappointing when one goes out of their way to provide them with business. Needless to say, they did not gain a client today.

Advance provides us with wonderful service for all of our automotive lock and keys needs. They are quick and courteous. Thank you Advance.

The worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Called this afternoon to ask about having a locksmith come to my house tonight the man told me no problem call around 9p when you get into town and give us an hour to get there. Here it is 9p and the other end of the phone told me they couldn’t help me. Awesome.

Called around looking to get a key duplicated — it’s one of those that not place can do — the service I got was exceptional. They had me take a picture of the key and send it to them to make sure before I drove there that they could do it. Getting the key made was fast and easy — thank you!

The lock broke on the front door and my tenants were unable to get in. I called Advance Lock and Key and they were at the house within ten minutes and had the door open just a few minutes later. Their prices are reasonable and the staff was professional and polite.

We’re a 24 Unit condominium building and have used Advance for numerous years. They have always been attentive to our needs when locks have been broken or keys jammed. We are currently rekeying the entire building and have had a wonderful experience working David and his crew. I give two thumbs up and 5 stars!

I just went into Advance because it was recommended to me by a friend I was moaning to this morning about my never ending key problems.
I live in an old building and our old gates NEVER take new keys I have made. No joke, I have had more than a dozen keys made at various places in Santa Monica, Venice and Culver City, and not one has worked. Period. Until today!
David (the owner) made me three keys, and he even took the time to «punch» the third incase the other two failed me. I just got home and tried all three and all three work!
I won’t be going anywhere else for my keys, ever again.
I’d also like to mention that the service was quick and very friendly and again MY KEYS WORK! Woohoo!

I think they are as good as lock repair gets. They do work for our HOA and while David is gruff, he has always given us good service and fair prices (I know because I check). In our case, his guys have to do the work on-​site and they have been prompt and courteous.

I didn’t even use their services! The little time I was on the phone with them, the guy was super rude, condescending, and way over priced. I called around and got someone to my place in 15 minutes (unlocked the door in 30 seconds), and cost half as much.

I don’t get the poor reviews here — my experience was fantastic.
I was treated to some old-​school problem-​solving customer service, recently. I took a «hard to find» car key in to be copied. This key has been duplicated before and didn’t work, so I came to Advance. I told the gentleman my story– that the first time I duplicated the key the copy didn’t work, and he guaranteed that his copies would work or I wouldn’t be charged. Okay. Get two copies, he asks me to go outside and test them before I drive off. They don’t work. He comes out to my car with me, tests the lock itself — turns out the lock is frozen (I usually use the keyless entry, so I’d never know). He sprays some lubricant in it to try and free it, to no avail. The keys work in the passenger door and are meant as spares so I kept them, but he took the time to a) come outside and try to fix the problem and b) recommend the fix I need from the dealer (not something he can fix himself) as well as a few other options to getting the lock fixed. I’m a big fan of the kind of customer service that gets to the root of the problem and not just passes the buck.

Called another Locksmith to come out to fix my sliding glass door with a key stuck in it. They said it would be 80 $ to remove the key and give me a new cylinders and re-​key so I could use the same key. 80 $? seemed a bit high so I said that I would take a pass since I had a feeling that was too high. I was going to ask about another lock but they huffed off when I said I didn’t want them to do the 80 $ job. I took the lock handle, stuck key and all, and drove to my local locksmith ,

They re-​keyed the new cylinder and charged me only 30 $!!! They told me that if they had they come out to my house they would have charged an extra 10 $ to reinstall the lock for a grand total of 40 $ for parts and labor. Half of what the other guys wanted to charge me. They took the time to explain to me how to reinstall the lock which was very nice of them. So I saved 50 $ by going to Advance. It’s now working like a charm :)

The worst service I have ever dealt with. They made me wait around for an appointment all day and never even showed up. Buyers beware!!!
These guys are a joke. Go somewhere else.
