Shannon helped us plan and execute our backyard wedding in Napa, and she was a true godsend! She helped us envision the space and flow, hooked us up with great recommendations for vendors and a caterer, and did a lot of last minute things to help us pull it all together. She has a great personality that kept us relaxed and at ease, but she also took care of business. Highly recommend this company!

I love Shannon! She saw my vision for my son’s baptism reception and she executed it very nicely! Very personable, easy to work with, and accomodating. First time we met, we clicked! When I first came in to see the restaurant I was very pleased… esp how she did the backdrop and tables… just how I pictured it in my head. I would definitely work with her again and I will highly recommend her to my friends and family. She’s just awesome!

Shannon is the absolute best — I have no idea how my husband and I would have made it through wedding planning without her. We hired Shannon to be our ‘day of’ coordinator for our wedding in the summer of 2013. When we met Shannon in person (at a brewery that we all love) we were immediately put at ease with her laid back personality as well as her creativity. She helped us come up with solutions for problems big and small that arise when planning weddings, from simple things such as accounting for cold food storage to more delicate affairs like handling difficult guests. Shannon always kept her cool (which was especially hard considering it was over 100 degrees on our wedding day) and we never worried about what was going on behind the scenes because we were confident that Shannon was handling it. When we think back to my wedding day we don’t have any regrets and that is due in large part to her excellent management skills. Shannon really goes above and beyond for her clients — and we all adore her for it!

Shannon is THE BEST!!! She helped with month-​of planning for our wedding and I am so happy I hired her! From my initial interview over the phone, to our first meeting and then check in’s up to the wedding, Shannon was always on top of things, always thinking of the littlest detail, and always so wonderful to work with! My mom tends to be a stresser, and Shannon was able to handle her multiple emails the day before the wedding with so much grace and patience. The entire day ran sooo smoothly, and there wasn’t even a hiccup when our photographer got in a car accident. Shannon called me to let me know what had happened and what she was doing to take care of the situation (and that Allison Andres, the photographer, also absolutely amazing, was okay!!). I didn’t worry about a thing since I knew she had everything under control. I highly recommend Shannon to anyone planning a wedding or any big event! I had the perfect wedding and I have Shannon (and I guess my husband) to thank for that! Shannon was easily one of the three key hires I made for the wedding (along with Allison and Shana Astrachan of Fox & Doll hair & makeup).

I can’t say enough good things about Shannon. We had her help us with month-​of planning for our wedding.
First off, she has the perfect personality for her job. I was a little stressed (and a little anal) about things and she was so calm and relaxed about everything. We got off each of our calls and felt comfortable again, like everything was taken care of. And on the day of the wedding, she had everything under control and managed to not seem stressed at all which just made us feel better.
Secondly, she does her job well. I am an extremely picky and detailed person and Shannon not only entertained my ridiculous requests for things to track, but she did it to a level of detail that I didn’t need to change (which is not normal). And everything on the day of went off without a hitch.
Thirdly, she went above and beyond on multiple occasions. We had no one to watch our 3 month old niece since both her parents were in the wedding party and Shannon’s assistant happily played the role of babysitter during the ceremony. Then after the reception we had an elderly grandmother who needed to get a cab home from the hotel we were at and she not only took it upon herself to get one ordered and there but took her out to the cab stand herself and made sure she was tucked away and all set.
Above all that, last but not least, she was so much more reasonably priced than everyone else out there (literally less than half their price) and it’s not one of those you get what you pay for situations because I can’t imagine one of the $ 2000 or $ 3000 planners doing a better job.
I would recommend Shannon to everyone I know and I will!

Shannon is a godsend. The success of our wedding is due in large part to her efforts.
I hired Shannon for day-​of coordination for my October 2012 backyard wedding. She helped me to realize my vision for a beautiful, whimsical, and lighthearted backyard celebration. At my own parties I often run the show (planning, cleaning, serving, getting ice, taking out the trash, delegating). I realized quickly, I would not be able to stage manage my wedding. I called Shannon several months before the big event, decided to hire her, and immediately felt at ease. Shannon’s organization, dependability, efficiency, quick response to issues, positive/​fun/​witty personality, eye for detail, and style, allowed me to let go and enjoy this day with my husband, our family, and our friends.
After talking with Shannon on the phone a few times, she checked out the venue in person and helped us really think about turning this yard into an accommodating space for 130 guests. She totally got it and was so encouraging, which was just what I needed. We discussed my vision and the festive and fun feel we were aiming for. Shannon shared her opinions, creative ideas, and ideas for efficacy without being pushy or judgy — I really valued that.
We set up regular check-​ins over the phone. Shannon was readily available to answer my questions over email and phone and provided *a ton* of moral support. With her I perfected my timeline for the wedding. With a sigh of relief, at least a week prior to the wedding I passed all contracts and communication with vendors to the effective hands of Shannon.
The wedding itself was the pretty and fun event we had hoped for. Thanks to Shannon, we were able to simply be the happy bride and groom. Also, it should be noted that everyone loved Shannon (my mom, my dad, my in-​laws, the bridal party, the two neighbor girls I hired to collect trash and hand out parking permits — everyone).
When recently engaged couples ask for my advice (and my husband’s advice) my most emphatic suggestion is to hire Shannon and J Jasper Events.

Shannon is simply awesome! She was our day-​of-​wedding coordinator. Shannon was a machine on the day of the wedding, getting things done that we probably didn’t even know that needed to get done. Before the wedding, she talked with us every week for a few weeks to ask us questions that we hadn’t even considered. She was very cheerful on the wedding day, even though we had multiple unconventional things going on. Our families liked her aura and trusted her judgement, a big bonus. In the end, many friends said it was one of the funnest weddings they’ve attended (well, one’s friends WOULD say that anyways perhaps) — it was in great part due to Shannon. We are so so so so happy we got Shannon for this crazy, wonderful day.

Shannon managed our wedding in October 2012 and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she was. I had worked with Shannon for several years before she decided to open J Jasper, so I already knew how event-​savvy and detail oriented she was. And, after planning events myself for years, I knew I would need someone really good if I was going to enjoy the wedding without worrying about the details. We planned the whole wedding on a budget in about four months, so as soon as we got engaged I called Shannon.
Hiring Shannon was hands down the best money we spent on the wedding. We specifically wanted her to help us with two things: day-​of coordinating, and thinking about the look and feel of the wedding, because we were getting married in a space that needed help to look festive. Shannon spent hours with us in the space, on the phone, and over email thinking and talking about how we could make the space and wedding special. She is incredibly creative and has TONS of ideas on how to make things look good without breaking the bank. She also scheduled regular check-​ins, developed an extensive timeline for us, and worked directly with our vendors to develop relationships and review plans before the wedding.
Best of all, on the day of the wedding Shannon had everything completely under control. She managed all of our vendors (very complicated because of the space) as well as the whole flow of the wedding and reception. I literally did not have to ask her once about where something was, when something should happen, etc. She came to me only if she needed to check in on something and then went off and did it.
Shannon is cool under pressure, quick to respond, and also just has a great, fun personality. In addition, her rates are incredibly reasonable for the amount of work she does, and she really knows her stuff. I highly, highly recommend her for any wedding or event planning needs.

Shannon rocks!
She was our wedding planner for my wedding at the end of September. We met with her when she was down in LA for work, which was great because we were able to see if our ideal wedding ideas meshed well. She was extremely helpful with our «destination» wedding up in the Bay Area. I believe we starting working with her in March and from the beginning she got us on track with the important details first and made sure we stayed on track.
She was extremely helpful with making decisions and always gave her opinion without pushing it on us. Her advice was always sound and she really knows what she’s talking about. She helped us pick out our vendors and gave us some great ideas to work with.
The month before the wedding we were talking to her at least once a week. Once it got really close to our wedding date she took over all contact with vendors which was really amazing since my mom and I needed to start focusing on our mental checklist.
On the day of the wedding she was on top of it! It was absolutely wonderful knowing that she was in charge of everything and I was able to enjoy family and the special moment with my husband. :]
There’s no question in my mind that our wedding was as prefect as it was because of Shannon. She really worked hard on our wedding, as if we were family.

Shannon helped to coordinate my sister’s wedding back in July. She did an awesome job. Always well composed, calm and on top of everything. She’s very easy to get along with and made the wedding much less stressful. Definitely recommend her to any of your party planning needs!!!

Shannon successfully planned our American wedding on June 30^th at a winery in Healdsburg. Please read my earlier review for everything she helped with leading up to the wedding. During the few days prior to the wedding and the day of, Shannon helped me finalize design ideas. I made numerous shopping trips for decorations, some of which Shannon accompanied me to and others during which she was available by phone/​text for feedback. She handled all the vendors with ease, aided my communication with them, and took over many of my other responsibilities to help ease my load. She even brought in an extra person to help at the wedding which was super helpful. I was an easygoing bride who had all the time to mingle with friends and family because Shannon took care of everything. Also, the day before when I had my traditional South Asian ceremony, Shannon came in with a friend and helped set up and take care of logistics even though it was not part of the contract. Overall, Shannon was very professional, helpful, and pleasant, and I’m extremely pleased with how beautiful the wedding was.

Shannon came to the rescue when I found myself completely overwhelmed by the thought of planning a birthday party for my two year old daughter. She first shared with me several websites which gave me lots of inspirational ideas to flair around and then spent time with me on the phone to focus our efforts. She even introduced me to pinterest where I found myself oohing and aahing through her many boards. She had the best creative ideas & even helped me figure out how to keep costs down without sacrificing any quality of the vision i had in mind. On the day of, she was truly amazing! While I busy preparing the food, she transformed our club room into the most beautiful party setting ever! She not only picked out all the decorations but also brought her own beautiful sets of everything — serving platters, mason jars, etc etc! i received so many compliments on the party, would not have been possible without her dedicated and detailed help. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

We hired J Jasper to plan and put on our rehearsal dinner, and they went above and beyond to create an event that was more than I had ever imagined. I gave Shannon the guest count and the general theme and she ran with it. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, it was all taken care of. Even though we had a small budget, she was able to put together the most beautiful event that was so «us». From finding the perfect location, to the amazing food that everyone still raves about, to the gorgeous flower arrangements and décor, I am so grateful to Shannon for creating this event for us on such an important day in our lives. I highly recommend J Jasper for any event that you are panning.

You could not find a more creative, enthusiastic, realistic and exceptional event planner than Shannon. When I explained how I wanted the flowers to look for my son’s bar mitzvah (rustic and natural), she took that direction and did the flowers perfectly. She made certain that the tables were set just as I’d wanted them to be. She also made certain that our table sign holders (actually logs) were able to hold their signs, a little detail I’d not figured out. Who knew what a little moss could do?

Shannon has successfully helped me and my family put on so many events now I have just about lost count… For both my sister’s baby shower and a welcome to the USA celebration for my fiancé I was blown away by her ability to take my visions of what I wanted the events to be and provide me with the essential crafting ideas and décor that made for impressive celebrations — guests loved both events, and I have Shannon to thank for her assistance. Her innovative touches, ability to keep events beautiful yet budget friendly, and overall passion for this work are unmatched and I HIGHLY recommend her for any event-​big or small!

My partner and I called on J. Jasper Events this past July for Day-​of-​Coordination of our commitment ceremony. Being that I’m a major planner, it was hard to imagine finally letting go of all the details of such a big day. However, Shannon came to the rescue and allowed me to take a deep breathe as soon as we arrived at the venue to decorate!
Shannon arrived prior to the set time, gave a helping hand wherever she could, added great little touches, and was a creative resource to bounce last-​minute ideas off of. In fact, she even came prepared with this amazing kit of «all possible things I/​we could need,» which of course, came in VERY handy. Once decorating was complete, we sat down and went over the remaining itinerary of the day – noting any changes/​requests/​reminders. While my partner and I left to get ready, Shannon stayed to keep an eye on things and provide any assistance to our caterer.
I could go on and on, yet what’s clear is that Shannon is committed to an event from start to finish and making sure it’s a success. Thanks J. Jasper Events for allowing me to fully enjoy the BEST day of my life!!!

Shannon planned a baby shower I hosted for my sister at my house. The weekend was crazy… my sister got married on Saturday and the shower was Sunday. I was overwhelmed to say the least.
Shannon and I met once and had a few email exchanges to review the theme, ideas for décor, timing and budget. The next thing I knew, food was ordered, tables/​chairs and linens delivered and set up, the house and garden were tastefully decorated with a mix of store bought and original Shannon-​made art. And all done within budget. I was beyond impressed.
I trust her completely. She listened to my ideas, was enthusiastic, offered her creative ideas, made the decisions but checked in when necessary. She’s great, personable and went above and beyond my expectation.
I don’t think I can have another party without her!
