Don’t give these guys no business!!! Bad customer service. I just went there to ask if they do «Check Engine» light diagnosis. The guy immediately said, «Not today we bout to Close!» He didn’t have to answer like that, like I was going to keep him from closing the shop. I didn’t even have the car with me. I was just at O’reillys and happen to just check with them so I can possibly bring it there next time. Fuck those guys.

Two thumbs down to Aamco
My son took his car to get checked out they said your transmission needs to be overhauled for $ 2000.00 so we took it to another mechanic and he found out it was just a vacuum leak. Next it was my wife they tried to rip off saying it would cost $ 1000.00 just to find out what was wrong with it so when I went down there to see about it they said it was mechanical not to mention he had an attitude so I recommend that you go anywhere other than aamco unless you want your wallet drained

Took my car to (3) different trans. mechs. And None of them could help with my slow leaking tranny. I talked to Jack about it at Aamco. Explained my experience with others. He said: «Bring it in. I like a good challenge.» Three days later he tells me: «Your inspection cover is damaged and we suspect the leak is coming from the dipstick union. But I don’t want to touch it because I don’t want to marry this car. Can’t guarantee it won’t continue».
What happened to I like a good challenge?
WEAK!
He didn’t even tell me if driving around with «a damaged inspection cover» is dangerous …
Seems like the words trust and loyalty are just fancy media semantics to bullshit their way into wasting your time… they have no customer here.

Called twice to inquire as to taking my car in for work & an estimate, was told I’d receive a call back within an hour as he needed to look up the estimate — never returned my calls.
Called their competitor [over on Redwood St] — who gave me an estimate right there on the phone (they have a computer data base, Aamco couldn’t even though it’s a late model car ??) and told me they could get me in that day
Should of read the reviews here before wasting a whole day on Aamco

These guys are idiots. Only getting one star because I have to. Almost cost me a tow to the next shop and more damage to my car.

0 stars if I could. I don’t usually review businesses but my experience today was so bad.
Waste of time and money. Not only did they not fix the issue (check engine light on), but when I picked up my car my fog light and the glass were missing. The car parked to the left of mine was missing the same light too.
Mike lied over the phone and to my face saying the issue had been fixed (misaligned coils), and the check light is off. Why call me to pick up my car If nothing was done? He also included that labor was put in extensive from the time charged. on my receipt service description says,” Labor: no repair is done at this time”. Not what he showed me on their copy of what I signed. There was a code p301, my copy doesn’t have any code on there.
I brought these issues up to Mike and he said come back tomorrow. The run around. I’m pregnant and missed two days of work for nothing because the car still isn’t working properly!
They are liars and crooks. Never again, and I will be sure to take this to the BBB.

I suspect they are cheating us. I went there to find out what my «check engine light» was for, since they check it for free. Even thought it takes 1 min to check it, they waited about 1 hour to do it. But that’s not even the problem. So they told me what the code was, and that they have to take a closer look and take apart some parts to look for the problem.
So I agreed. They called me a few hours later and told me that I need a new cam sensor, but said they don’t have the part so I have to take it to the dealer. Shouldn’t they order the part? anyway, I bought the part from autozone and brought it to them. when I got there they said the car wouldn’t start anymore, so they took the part that I brought. And they called me later and said the car is starting again. «but since we didn’t get to the bottom of the problem, we will only charge you our minimum $ 60 fee.» And so they didn’t do anything with my part and insisted I take it to the dealer. I asked if I will make it all the way to the dealer. They said yes, «the car is running fine».
but I didn’t even last a mile from their shop and the car died and I had to tow it.
I took it a mechanic, and found out there was leaking in the engine and also need a new timing belt and some other stuff. (cam sensor wasn’t one of them)
If ammco guys had actually looked at my car, they would have found at least some of the problem if not all.
So I suspect they didn’t even look at my car and charged me $ 60.

I received a 98 Buick Century from my mother, later down the line I had transmission troubles and had the transmission fixed at this place. Also I got the window button mechanism fixed. Well anyways when it came time to pick up the car the price of which we agreed to of 3500 hundred dollars about was greeted to me with a shady did I do it right smile of which I received a bad feeling from. I was given a Warranty of about 10 or 12k miles which pretty much after they were up instantaneously my transmission died. My advice is go some place else with better reviews or buy yourself another vehicle like I did at Jimmy Vasser which is currently running great from 2009 till now.

I have been meaning to write this review for a few weeks now and have not had an opportunity to do so. It started with my check engine light going out. My trusty Toyota was running fine, so I ignored the light for a little while. This wasn’t the first time that I had this happen. I remembered how panicked I was the first time the light came on several years ago. I had it checked out immediately and my oxygen sensor lights replaced and the problem was corrected. This time, I was a little less anxious, but then I started having some put put problems! I never had that happen before! My trusty Toyota began to jerk when I would press on the gas. I was concerned that this was a transmission issue and I started to panic once again! I know my car is about 17 years old, but it has never me down! I have been the sole owner and have taken great care in my car. I called several places immediately to see where I could get a diagnostic check. A friend of mine, who use to be a mechanic, told me to go to Aamco to get a diagnosis. I checked to see where the closest one was and gave them a call. Michael was extremely nice. He was courteous, friendly and very accommodating. He gave me a very reasonable price for the diagnosis and said that he could get me in that same afternoon! I was thrilled! He even agreed to have someone take me to my doctor’s appointment up the street and have them pick me up about an hour later, after the testing was completed. He was very accommodating. He is who saved this review! I was hesitant to go there from all the horrible reviews that I read. I was pleasantly surprised at the care I was given. Well, until I got the results of the test and left the shop. I was told by the mechanic that one of the coils needed replacement. This is why the car was backfiring. I was also informed that the mass flow sensor needed replacement. The mechanic informed me that he switched coil four with coil one and to come back when the engine light turns back on again. It turned back on the net morning. I went back. They tested again and this time it was coil 2? Huh? He originally said that it was coil 4 which he replaced with coil 1, but now it is coil 2? Not coil 1 or 4! And now the brakes and the tires need replacement? Hmmm… I feel like I need to go & have it diagnosed somewhere else to make sure I have the necessary work done. I am unsure of the diagnosis that was given to me, but the care and thoughtfulness that was shown by Michael, saved their review. Maybe I will be willing to have them do the work and see if they take as much care in that. I am still not sure. If I do, I will come back with another review.

this place has changed hands so many times how can you trust them? went to get transmission checked and said there was a leaking valve. when we got home the transmission fluid leaked out all over the garage. sometimes they’re open on saturday and sometimes its all boarded up like they’re shut down. BEWARE OF THIS POSSIBLE HACK SHOP.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!
The manager here is nothing but a scammer. I went here to have my Transmission replaced, they rebuilt my transmission, it failed 2 weeks later; brought it back, they rebuilt it again; failed again. Brought it back 3x times… on the third time, they took almost a month to fix the damn thing, they had to buy a new one.
And even then, I still had to bring it back because the neutral safety switch failed, or they forgot to put the engine cover. Completely unprofessional! And at every point, they kept telling me the car was ready, but when I arrived to pick it up, IT WASN’T READY!
they kept lying to me, and the manager stood me up many times promising me he was going to drop off the car– finally dropping off the car on the 4^th promise he made to me.

The car started to put put out. Went to Kragen next door to get a battery. Went to Aamco to get the battery replaced. Told me the car would be ready in 20 minutes. It wasn’t. Waited another 20 minutes afterward. They replaced the battery, but did not check on the alternator. Car died the next day. Luckily I did not return to Aamco this time. My car is now happy with a new alternator.
