Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve had a healthy respect for, and curiosity of, trees. Now, as a Certified Arborist and Certified Tree Risk Assessor, if there is any way to save a dying tree, I’ll find it!

Since I grew up in the North Bay, my reputation of excellent customer service and an exceptionally professional and clean crew are important to maintain. I find that many customers are interested in learning about trees and our processes during a job and we are happy to explain throughout.

I always put safety first, minimizing homeowner liability. My crews are all on payroll, all covered by Workman’s Comp. insurance for tree climbers and all extremely experienced.

I proudly stand behind my work and the Signature Tree Service crew & brand. I am a local news favorite for all things trees – storms, drought, disease, etc. Check out the Signature Tree Service YouTube page for my videos!

Curtis is very professional, knowledgable and helpful. When he came out to inspect our trees for the first time, I was so impressed with his knowledge and suggestions. We trust him and know our trees are well cared for. I have also referred him to our friends and they were also impressed with his great knowledge and professionalism. The project in both cases was completed in a day, with his professional crew. Both of our families would definately use Signature Tree Service for all of our future tree care.

My husband and I were very impressed with the professionalism of this company. The owner did an amazing job communicating with us and letting us know the price and what to expect. The crew was here on time and did a phenomenal job with our tree trimming and they cleaned up afterwards. We highly recommend them and look forward to using Signature Tree for our future tree needs.

In April, I needed an 80+year old Redwood removed. Talked with the Signature folks at a booth at the Solano County Home Show. Paid $ 75 for them to come out and give me an assessment. Chris arrived on time the date scheduled. He agreed it was dangerous, so we scheduled a date a few weeks out to have it removed. I had noticed they were selling 10 – 12 foot Redwood slabs at the Home Show and asked if that would be possible. He said no, they would be cutting it down in 3 feet sections, but he could get me a couple of big rounds from the bottom. I also said I was interested in the chippings, but couldn’t confirm that yet. He said they’d call the day before the job to confirm, so that I could inform the renters. He also said he would be supervising the job.
A few weeks later he called and said they would be doing it in the next couple of days. I said I was interested in the chippings and would have my dad bring a trailer down to collect them as they chipped. He said they would call me the night before.
A couple of days later, I get a text from the neighbor with a picture of the tree stripped and just about down. She said that Chris hadn’t supervised the job, the owner had. They had cut the trunk down in 10 – 12 foot sections, but they hadn’t even left any large rounds (4 people could sit around them). Chris called that evening, frantic for the rest of the payment for the job. When he came by my house to pick it up, he apologized that I did not get a call the night before, but assured me the rounds and chipping would be delivered.
I’ve called at least once a week until July, asking about the rounds and chipping, and spoke with a very nice woman. She said she would let Curtis know. I have never heard from him nor received the rounds or chipping.

I hired Curtis with Signature tree service to remove several HUGE bull pines, on the slope directly above my house, he fell the trees exactly in the place he wanted, without damaging my landscape, expertise and precision, Safe & professional, I highly recommend This tree service!!! Just a note little trees are easy BIG trees can take out your house! Thank you Curtis !!

Stay away from these guys. They damaged my neighbors side walk and refuse to repair. Drove their truck over about 20 feet of it and broke it, I called several times and they refuse to fix it, luckily I can attach their bond and the city may take legal action, and to top it off my tree looks horrible. Their are much better insured and professional tree services around, make sure to read the reviews below the top few. As I’m sure the top ones are staged in my opinion.

I needed several trees pruned of dead limbs, and one needed a large branch removed because it was hanging over the house. In addition, I had several other small tasks. Curtis gave me a fair estimate for the work involved I thought, and when his team arrived, they did a great job, including cleaning up the spoils of the pruning. I enjoyed watching them do their work. When they finished, I was very pleased with the work and in choosing Signature Tree Service. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.

This company is AWESOME!!! Very professional. Curtis the owner and certified arborist came out and spent about 45 min talking to me about what work I wanted done and the health of my trees. I was very impressed. He quickly gave me a quote, and got me scheduled the next day. Unfortunately they ended up being unexpectedly busy and had to reschedule for the following day. I totally didn’t mind that at all only because Curtis called and communicated with me. He always kept me in the loop, which is something I look for when dealing with any type of service. The following day Nick and Jessie showed up at my home. Very professional, went over the work order with me, asked me specifically what I wanted done, and promptly got to work! These men paid attention to detail, spoke w my neighbor regarding questions he had, and cleaned up everything perfectly! I think what impressed me most was that my neighbor wanted another limb cut (over his lawn) but Nick tried to explain that it wasn’t good for the health of my tree with all the cuts that were already made. It made me feel that he really cared about what he was doing! I highly recommend this company and will be calling them for all my tree needs!

I called a few places, Signature Tree Service is the only company that took the time to call me back. BUT,…I am SO glad they did.
I have two medium/​large ash trees in my back yard. We have always done the extreme cutting back of all the top growth. I thought that was the correct thing to do until I noticed that my once healthy trees are now sun damaged.
I called Curtis, the owner of this business and he came out to give me a estimate. Right from the beginning I knew I had called the right company. Curtis told me about my trees and why they are now damaged and how he can fix them. He was very knowledgeable about tree growth, health and disease.
The two man crew came out today and they had the trees pruned in about 6 hours. I am so amazed, they never used a single chain saw!!! The man hand cut everything! And it shows! Beautiful work! They took extreme care not to cause any damage and cleaned up everything after they were done. My trees are beautiful and I can see the natural shape in them again. I can’t wait until they leaf out this spring.
I want to add,…to have my trees properly «groomed» did not cost that much more then the slash and burn method. I highly recommend this company. They are very professional along every step of the way. I do not impress easily, but I am impressed by this company. Thank you, Peggyk

Called in a couple of months ago for an estimate and spoke to Curtis. After him insisting I need a consultation (at an extra charge), he reluctantly scheduled an appointment. Then never showed. This is the second time I’ve tried to get an estimate from these people. Don’t waste your time.

The work discussed with the man who came to give the estimate was not communicated on the work order the workers brought with them. Nor did they complete the work after it was described to them. During the clean phase, instead of collecting all the leaves, they blew a good portion of them into my neighbors hedges. If I ever need any more work done, they will not be doing it.

Terrible company. Hired them to do stump grinding and to chop down some tree trunks. They missed some stumps and completely damaged my fence. Came back and took care of the missed stumps. Attempted to fix my fence with tape and wrong gauge chain link. Are you kidding me? Over a month later, my fence is still damaged. They refuse to return phone calls. Going to see our family attorney about this.

Really disappointed with this company. They were the 3rd company to come give us a quote for our trees. Slightly more expensive than the other 2, but I was impressed with their super helpful receptionist Shirley and the guy with a fancy name tag giving the quote named Bill. I gave Bill a deposit and he wrote on the quote «to be completed by June 4th 2014». But assured me the team would arrive in the next few days. We waited and waited… I called once to check in but they didn’t get back to me. 3 weeks later, on June 3rd a rude girl named Christina (rude as in unapologetic and apathetic) called saying they couldn’t come till June 5th (two days before we leave for vacation). I was disappointed, but agreed that if they came between 8 – 9 AM I would be ok with it. That would give us time to do the other things we needed to do in the yard after the tree removal. Sadly, Christina calls me at 9.05am June 5th saying that they are having technical difficulties with the machinery and cannot come till a week on Tuesday…
Needless to say I was furious. I cancelled, and would not recommend to anyone.
Called Green Thumb Tree care instead and they are coming this afternoon!

It took me repeated attempts to get an estimate. The rep showed up early with no phone call that had been promised. He new very little about trees and couldn’t even identify common ones. He said he would email an estimate, I waited two weeks before making other arrangements. If they are this unprofessional I would hate to see who they send out to do the work. I would give no stars but site doesn’t allow.
