Classic Toyota of Tyler

I went to buy a new 2016 Tacoma. They didn’t have the vehicle I wanted but there was one in the region that they were willing to bring in for $ 1,000 non-​refundable deposit. Yes, that’s right, one grand, non-​refundable. I told them I wasn’t paying that. They didn’t want my business after that.
A few days later I called around and found a dealership that did want my business. Cowboy Toyota in Dallas. They wanted a $ 500 deposit and it was completely refundable.
Needless to say that the management at Classic Toyota needs to get there heads out of their you know what.

We have bought many cars from Classic Toyota in the past 10 years and have been happy with them until last week. On 8−13−15 we bought a 2015 Camry LE around 5pm. We wanted xm radio duel air controls as 2 of the options. They said they could put in a xm radio and duel air controls was not an option on the LE model. All the options we wanted were on the XLE model but the price was out of our range so we took the LE model. The next morning the car was in the shop for the steering problem and 2 days later for a bad battery. Nobody told us that on 8−14−15 the rebates and dealer discounts on the XLE had brought the price down to within $ 175 of what we gave for the LE. Then to top it off on 8−18−15 they put in the xm radio that they charged us $ 500 for that turned out to be an after market joke. We feel like we were screwed over and when we trade our older Toyota in next month we will go to Dallas or anywhere else to trade.

Purchased a 2015 Tacoma 4×4 from Classic Toyota the other day and very pleased with my experience there and would recommend then very highly of you are in the market a new or used be vehicle go see them. Ask for Adam Miller and he will take care of you with no pressure.

I am very dissatisfied with my recent experience at Toyota. I needed my Civic detailed and decided I would take it to Toyota because I expected more professionalism and service out of a service department of a large business than I did from a shed with spray painted signs on it. I made the wrong assumption. This is what happened last week:
I called on Thursday to confirm prices and to ask how long it should take. I explained that the car was in rough shape and had been the victim of two toddlers. I was told 6 hours. I asked if there was a chance that I should leave it over-​night or over the weekend (as I was dropping it off on Friday and I live in Longview and needed to make sure that I didn’t need to make arrangements). I was told no, that it wouldn’t be a problem. I dropped off my car and received a call about two hours later saying that my car would have to spend the weekend with them drying out the seats. I asked how that was possible, because I was assured it would only take six hours. I told them that that would leave me stranded in Tyler without a vehicle and asked about a loaner car or something to get me home. They offered me a $ 40/​day rental and no apology. I didn’t get off work that night until 10, so my girlfriend had to load up the sleeping kids and come make a round trip to Tyler to pick me up. I worked that weekend, so my family was stuck without transportation as we were then down to one car. I was told it would be ready to pick up first thing in the morning on Monday. So, I dropped every one off at school and work on Monday in Longview and headed into Tyler. I asked my Dad if he could take the morning off of work to pick up the other car from Classic and drive it to Longview, as my mother was off work that day and could then drive him back. I called Classic to ask what time the service department opened so that I could have them get the car. They said 9, but that my car wouldn’t be ready until after lunch — thus again wasting my time. Again, I asked — how could this be? I was told 6 hours — tops — on Friday and now it has been Friday, Saturday, and Sunday… what else was there?! Apparently my seats were still drying from the shampoo. My Dad had to cancel his whole day waiting on that and they finally called at 2 to say that it was ready. I know that the following are completely my personal problems: me living in Longview, me having to make accommodations for getting my car back and forth from there, and me having to ask family to change their schedules to accommodate my own. My complaint is that I took action to prevent having to do all of that and my efforts were met with apathy and no apologies. I am used to mediocre service and even all of that I would just keep to myself, but the part that really pissed me off is that when my Dad picked up the car — it was still wet. He asked about that and they said it would be fine. Two days later and the car smells like mildew. I am now having to take my car somewhere else to have the seats re-​done. That is absolutely ridiculous.
I have purchased a Camry from Classic before and was happy with the process (which is my reason for a 2 star, versus a 1 star). I have taken that Camry to the service department twice. Once was when they were building the new service center and so I chalked my horrible experience there up to growing pains on their part and I understand the chaos of a big remodel like that. The second time I struggled to find an excuse for my poor experience and decided not to take my car there anymore for oil changes or servicing. This is the third time I have dealt with the service department there and I am absolutely done with them.
I was having the car detailed because we were buying a new one. Because of this experience, I happily took that sale to Jack O’Diamonds where I bought that Civic new and just purchased another vehicle. I thoroughly enjoy my experience at their service center every time and recommend it to a lot of people. I know that the service center and the sales department are two different businesses under the same umbrella, but in this case one is definitely pulling the other down.
I do not like leaving bad reviews. And even though it does not sound like it, I do not like complaining. However, I am very disappointed with my experience.

I went I the dealership to have my oil changed. I pulled into a bay and there was a young man there with head phones on. He said someone would be right with me. He continued to jam out to his music as I waited for 15 minutes without anyone «helping me.» No one asked what I needed or took my name or information. I left and wont go back. Sad because I bought my QX56 there. I like to stay but not for poor service.

My family has rented cars from Classic on several occasions but the last two times the customer service was a little different. I really dont want to go into specific details but please be specific when renting and please check your rental completely before leaving the lot. There is one employee that definitely needs to be replaced.

This company is the worst car company I have ever dealt with. I am use to buying high end Mercedes and this place sold me a used one that was 10,000 over the bluebook. I paid 36,000 for a 2009 C350 in 2012 which I could have bought a brand new one for that amount. That is why I had to put down almost 10,000 with trade and cash because they wouldn’t have been able to get it financed. I had also specifically asked the salesperson if it had ever been in a wreck cause at the time I thought I was getting a good deal, ha it was under 50,000. The price was my fault for not doing my homework.
I had messed up the suspension UNDER my car 6 months later and had it fixed at Classic Mercedes but never any body work done other than complaining that my clear coat was coming off in several spots which they redid (clear coat not paint) and my trunk wouldn’t shut right some of the time. Nothing to do with my suspension. After moving to Dallas 2 months later and taking it to Plano Mercedes because Classic still hadn’t fixed the trunk right I found out that it had, had paint work (not just clear coat) done on the trunk area and the fender and driver door. Parkway Mercedes and Plano Mercedes BOTH gave me a 21,500 estimate do to both the damage and the age of the car. My suspension work NEVER came into question because all they did was look at the paint thickness. It was 15 thick on the driver side when normal is 7. Then the trunk had over spray in it which they BOTH said was due to being repainted and that was why I’d been having trouble in the 1^st place with the trunk not shutting correctly. This and the over price of the vehicle is why they only offered me 21,500.
When I complained about it to Scott Reed, he asked me to drive 4 hours round trip to Tyler from Dallas to «talk» about it. I did that and all he had to say after my wasted drive was that «charging customers too much for a vehicle was not a crime.»
He had nothing to say about the fraud his company committed by NOT disclosing this damage on the vehicle. Not the suspension damage that I had fixed that his below comment would lead you to believe but body work before I bought it. I NEVER HAD BODY WORK DONE TO MY CAR. I went over a curb and had undercarriage damage.
This place is crooked, lying, cheats and I would never deal with them again!!!
Yeah, we both have that same price documentation that I stated above so if you even think about going to Classic you had better put the Kelly Blue book application on your phone so you can check his figures cause you are going to need Vaseline. Go to Kelly and see how much a 2009 Mercedes C350 even now sells for, you can still get a new one for that and draw your own conclusion. Let him get his documentation, I have my full finance papers I will upload if anyone actually wants to see them!
He was never disappointed I wasn’t happy with my purchase. He was happy it wasn’t illegal to overcharge someone for a vehicle as he told me to my face and that is when I walked out of his dealership!!! I have since gotten rid of it cause I hated even looking at that car. Reminded me every time I saw it of the Sh**bag that sold it to me. I told the dealership what he said and even they couldn’t believe a GM had the gall and nerve to say that to a customer.
It should make everyone wonder why their website only has 5 star ratings on it from customers but I’m finding a lot of bad stuff about them when I Google their review.

Horrible experience at this dealer. I had been looking for a car for quite some time and visited several dealers. Majority of which were very cordial and tried to meet my needs.
Upon my visit to Classic I met with one of the managers to deal with my trade and what car I was interested in. During our conversation I was expressing what I have been doing in the course of looking into a new purchase and describing what I wanted for my trade.
The manager was texting and scrolling through his emails during the conversation and kept telling me he was listening.
I started to discuss what other dealers had to offer and he would just start interrupting me and telling me that the warranties other company’s offered weren’t REAL warranties.
Long story short I highly recommend any other dealer than this Toyota dealer as well as stay away from the Internet sales manager.
I ran from this location to buy a Subaru at Peltier.

I called the service department for tires for the second time this week. Both times I was told that «the computer just crashed and I’ll have to call you back» when I said I want to speak with someone right now I was told that is not a possibility and then they hung up on me. The last couple of times I’ve been in there for service, it has been poor customer at best. They may have a new service building but they still have the same bad attitudes. I think I’m going to find a new place to get my Toyotas serviced.
