Seattle Yellow Cab

Excellent service. Driver was on time and cab was clean. I had a great conversation with the driver. I was on my way to a meeting and asked if I can use him again and he hand me his card and he promised hell pick me up after my meeingt I will definitely use them again.

I had a friend visiting from out of town, we caught a cab from downtown to Judkins Park, when my friend tried to pay the driver responded that the card didn’t go through, so I paid with mine. It turns out both me and my friend both paid for the cab around 17.00 dollars each.
I will never use yellow cab again

Cab driver was nearly impossible to communicate with; I had to resort to hand gestures of left and right since he neither understood the address nor directions. The greater issue was the driver’s reckless behavior itself. He spent the entire trip glancing down at his lap where it turns out he was watching a video on his iphone. Asking him to stop the behavior was ineffective considering he didn’t understand English. Terrible experience.

Worst dispatch ever! I have used Seattle yellow cab about 6 times. Every single time I called the dispatch the operators are EXTREMELY UNPROFFESSIONAL AND RUDE. I waited an hour for a cab and nobody came so I called dispatch and the woman who answered was very unapologetic. She actually hung up on me. I called again and they sent another cab. Another hour later still no cab. I called again and gave another name and then a cab showed up 15 mins later.

Thank you for your response. I commend you for caring enough to address customer concerns as your drivers and we the customers are learning this new way to do business. I have no doubt that your subsequent Update advising us to check the Bill to Card box will help many new users who read this, as I, for one, as a new user to this type of service, was totally unaware of it, or that pay options were available on the App. I will become more familiar and use it next time I book a ride, and am happy to say SYC is still good in my book!

We arranged for a wheelchair van to pick my mother up at 5:30pm, and now at 7:30pm, after many phone calls, there is still no van here and the agent on the phone doesn’t even know if a van will ever become available at all tonight.
If no wheelchair accessible van were going to be available within a 2 hour window, why did you take the booking and tell us to keep waiting repeatedly? Why wouldn’t you inform your customer off the possibility that we would be stranded?
This is why services like Über are running taxi services into the ground: because taxis apparently don’t offer much customer service at all. We’ll be enthusiastically seeking out, and voting for, more competition in the taxi space from now on.

I swear to God the only reason I use this cab service is because guests at the hotel I work at insist on using a cab. Taxis are archaic and unreliable.
It takes forever to even get in CONTACT with an agent, I can be on hold for 15 minutes just to even talk to anyone. And then they give you an outrageous time frame that the taxi will come in. «It can take anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes».
They yell at you if you even have a question, or to cancel because 10 to 45 minutes is not something my guests like to hear as a time frame. I was talking to a woman once and asked to cancel per guest request and she sighed deeply and went off on me. What a mess.
I swear to God, you have to have a criminal record and no social skills to work as a dispatcher.
I am glad taxis are dying and Über is replacing you.

Needed a cab. Although one responded quickly they went to the wrong address.

The battery died in our car, which we discovered just when it was time to go to the airport. I called Yellow Cab after trying two other companies that did not answer the phone. The taxi was at our home within 5 minutes of my call. The driver was polite and helpful. The rates were reasonable. I’ll most likely use Seattle Yellow Cab as my airport shuttle from now on. Great experience. Thanks!

I wish I could rate them negatively. I booked an early morning ride to Seatac via the app. Checked the app about 10 minutes before the scheduled time and was pleased to see the cab was a few minutes away. Only it wasn’t. The app continued to show the cab a few minutes away for the next half hour. I called dispatch and he told me the same thing. He then told me the app was crap and blamed the driver.
I took Über instead.

I had a lovely experience with Yellow Cab in Seattle. Dispatch was friendly. The cab arrived within ten minutes of my call in the Queen Anne neighborhood. My driver phoned as he arrived. I was waiting on the curb, with my luggage, so it wasn’t too difficult to find me.
I needed to get to a hotel near the airport and my driver, Rod, knew exactly where we were supposed to go. Hooray, for Rod! He was a sweetheart. We chatted merrily on the way to my hotel, which I enjoyed. Also, I got the feeling that if I WASN’T the chatty sort, he would have done just as well with a silent ride.
I like cabs. I like supporting cab drivers. Thank-​you Yellow Cab and Rod for getting me to my destination safely and leaving me with a smile on my face. Wishing Rod well if he sees this. I was the jolly redhead with the funky glasses. Smiles!

This review is about a HORRIBLE experience with Cab 497 on 14^th October 2015 at 11.40 AM. I had to go to my doctor’s appointment at 11.45 AM and I had booked the cab for 11.30 AM and the cab driver was ten minutes late, I still didn’t tell him anything and asked him if he knows the drop address as I always write that in the comments section of the online booking app and he shouted that he doesn’t know, then I told him that he is ten minutes late because of which I am late for my doctor’s appointment and still he is the one shouting to which he yelled and replied «I don’t care if I am late I am here now if you have problem get out of my car» and kept saying something in his language which I couldn’t hear or understand. When I said that he cannot talk to me like that, he yelled «shut up you idiot», and again said «if you have problem get out of my car». When I said so you will not drop me then he said «see what I will do». I got scared and thought let him just drop me. But he shouted again and said «stupid», I couldn’t and didn’t want to take it anymore and this time I told him to shut up to which he again said «get out of my car you idiot». He also added «I came early and you weren’t there and there’s no parking here», but I was standing there from 11.20 AM and he came at 11.40 AM and I kept tracking him on the app from 11.20 AM and could see that he was not nearby till 11.40 AM, so I don’t know what was he talking about. I then got out of his car. He was screaming at the top of his voice, pointing his finger at me, I almost thought that he will slap me because he was leaning all the way back while shouting. God knows how many times he yelled «shut up, stupid, idiot». I was half hour late for my appointment and scared and couldn’t understand what to do. I was so frustrated and angry that the cab driver spoke to me in such a demeaning manner. It wasn’t a free ride, I was paying for it and I wasn’t going for shopping or some fun event.
I had few bad experiences before as well sometimes they don’t listen properly when you tell them the drop address and start shouting even when it’s their mistake, and mostly they come before the scheduled time which is an inconvenience and so many times the payment machine isn’t working, but I didn’t bother, but this time all limits were crossed by this driver.
I used Yellow cab just one more time right after this incident as I had to go to my doctor’s appointment, but I have decided I will never ever use Yellow cab again. I hope something will be done regarding this incident I had left voicemail on 14^th on the Superintendent’s answering machine and even the cab driver (cab 732 which I had taken right after this incident) left a voicemail and I also complained on the Yellow cab website but I never got any follow up till now.

THE DRIVER RAN OVER MY TOES. I was on the driver side and yelled that he ran over my toes but all he did was drive off. A hit and run.
He had no GPS and kept swearing trying to figure out how to get to my destination.
After I saw the screen with the amount owed, I asked him how much I owed him to see if he knew. He refused to acknowledge my existence. He said he did not have enough change ($ 1) for my ~$ 9 ride.
At one point, without asking, he manhandled one of my bags and threw it on the street. He then went around to the other side and opened my car door without saying anything.
I told him I could not pay him if I did not know how much I owed him. He said I already paid him and that I should get out of his car. I promptly left his car, to which I asked where he put my things – no reply. He got into his car, backed up, RAN OVER MY TOES. and drove on.

Made a complaint to the supervisor who did not sound surprised.

Honestly, we gave them a chance after my family and I got in an accident and had our car totaled. I had my 7 month old baby and boyfriend with me, and the officer on scene called us a cab right when she got to the accident to take my family and I to the hospital. We waited over an HOUR, even the police officer was so shocked. She asked for another cab to be dispatched, and the cab company apologized and said they sent the cab to the wrong location. Another forty minutes go by and nothing! How could they leave a family that needs to get to the hospital stranded on the curbside?! We finally gave up and told the officer to cancel the cab, and then we downloaded the UBER app. From signing up, to the car picking us up, it took less than ten minutes.
I am SO shocked and disappointed. Thank you so much for leaving my family and baby out on the curb for TWO HOURS.

Seattle Yellow Cab drivers are horrible! I would never EVER use their services again! If there’s a zero, or better yet –100 points, I would give that for the treatment I was given.
I scheduled a pick up from their app at noon (of course I provided the address for pick up). I was expecting to be picked up around noon; however, I received a call from a man asking me who I was and where I was. For one thing, everything in the app already provided that information. However, clearly the man was uneducated to the point where he didn’t read who I was or even look up where I wanted to be picked up. Here’s the best part of it all: this cab driver had the audacity to accuse me of being so far away! It’s not my fault, I was assigned to him when he was in the SeaTac airport while I was in Beacon Hill! While he attempts to find my location, he even cusses over the phone. At the point, I couldn’t tolerate it anymore. I called the company and cancelled the trip.
Who cares if they’re supposed to be a good class of taxi company in Seattle?! I would never use them again, especially when they employ buffoons who are incapable of reading and using their resources, esp with their app. AND who cusses at their customers.

¹⁄₃ drivers that I had was good and his name was Charles. That man had his head on straight and even gave me a discounted rate to the airport. I believe he should get a raise personally because of his service, and the dealings that I’ve had out of this company while I was in the Lakewood/​Seattle area. Best driver I’ve had there yet. Right on time for the round trip.

Typically it takes a lot to get me to give a one star review, yet somehow cab companies seem to get them from me time and again.
This guy takes the cake. Car 505 for the record, and yes I’ll be making a formal complaint. This driver was driving over 35 miles over the speed limit (84 that I saw at one point on the speedometer, and it was digital and large so I wasn’t estimating). I tried to get photo evidence of it but clearly the driver saw me doing so and quickly let off the gas. I asked him multiple times to slow down and not only did I get no response AT ALL, I feel like he didn’t even try to slow down, he may have even sped up.
When it came time to pay the bill I asked if I could punch in a card number manually as I forgot my debit card at home but know the number by heart and would prefer to use that over my Visa. When he had no idea what I was saying after taking me on an 85 mph death ride over rumble strips, he audibly scoffed at me when I clicked away from the standard options of 20/​25/​30% tips. NO WAY did he earn that, and to be honest asking for that percentage as a cab driver is presumptuous and rude. 20% and higher is for personal services such as haircuts, meals, massages. Not driving me when you exchange no words with me and make me fear for my life.
The ONLY reason I even was forced to use this horrible service was because for some strange reason Über won’t start rides from Sea-​Tac? Seems to me like they’re missing out on a ton of business that way. Apparently I could have requested über black which I figured out after the fact, and it would have been safer, a more enjoyable ride and probably still cheaper. Avoid at all costs.

Just took a yellow cab to Seatac. I requested that he follow the speed limits… First street was 25. He did 40., second street was 30. He did 58. Stop signs obviously dont matter either.
Then, when we got to the airport sure as hell wasnt paying a tip at which he balked and then almost drove off with the luggage.
To bad i wasnt able to get another taxi at the time i needed.

I really wanted to give them this complaint in person, but it’s impossible to reach someone «in charge» at Yellow Cab. (Apparently, someone named «Amir» is the general manager, but good luck reaching him.)
Anyway, on Sunday afternoon, I needed a ride from over by Montlake to downtown. I made the mistake of calling Yellow Cab dispatch. FIFTY minutes later, a cab arrived. I had a nice chat with the cab driver, who admitted to me that the telephone dispatch was a real mess, and that they were encouraging their customers to use the app now-​a-​days.
I actually called dispatch during my extended wait. They said that all they could do was toss the call out on the network of drivers (every driver apparently has a dispatch screen in their cab) and hope someone picks it up. Dispatch has no way of following-​up or actually assigning a cab to a particular customer. In other words, when you call for a cab, maybe you get lucky and maybe you don’t. It’s all just a lottery.
No wonder Über is getting so popular! I’ll never phone Yellow Cab ever again.

Its a Friday night in October around 10pm. I call their number four times to pick us up near Lake Union after a wedding. No answer.
Really? No one picks up a phone at a taxi company?
I guess the dispatch operator was OFF that night.
