If I could give them less stars, I absolutely would. I’ve been to this place a few times. More recently however, it’s been terrible. On one occasion my sister and I had ordered breaded shrimp tacos to go. At home, once we began to eat we noticed the bread on the shrimp was raw, it was not fully cooked. The consistency was strange as well, it was green and just didn’t look right. So anyway, my husband and I decide to give this place another shot today. We ordered the large shrimp cocktails to go. So we hurry to pick the food up, and hurry home. As we’re arriving home, we realize they gave us the small size. So we drive back, and let them know. So instead of these people just making the damn order right, charging us the difference, the broad at the window begins to argue with me, that it was my mistake because of the way I worded my order. Not only that, but she goes to grab someone else, to apparently have them argue w me as well. Never again will I visit this place. It’s just poor customer service and the food is iffy.

This review must be provisional – while the menu was expansive and very well priced, our group only tried the stingray tacos. The tacos were well-executed, enormous, and buried under fresh vegetables. The trouble is, without an extensive background in stingray tacos, nobody knew if Baja Mar’s stingray was especially gross or if stingray is always gross. The texture was nice and meaty, it was followed up by a pungent, ocean-rot aftertaste. Given the overall level of cleanliness and professionalism about Baja Mar, it seems likely that stingray just wasn’t the entrée for us. Baja Mar deserves another try, but it will be shrimp next time.
