We did not eat here, but came for the fish, and the fact that they might be the only retailer in Tucson that sells Bacalao(salted, dry cod) in a wooden box. The place itself is nice, but it can be a bit of a drive to get there, the décor is good, and the food seems right. I’d say more, but it was mostly a one stop thing for the Bacalao

I have been coming here for years. If you love sea food then come here, the food is amazing. Most selections come with a large portion of French fries, side salad and yummy rice. My favorite dish is the Camarones Rancheros, Comes with all of the above plus good size FRESH shrimp.

Only fresh fishmonger I could find nearby except Whole Foods, which is pretty far and usually only has salmon. I hear Lee Lee’s(or however you spell it) is an alternative. Stinky, small fish selection, for the most part, but there was some decent-looking sea bass(judging by the eyes, like you’re supposed to). I didn’t ask about the source. The nice lady deboned it for me, but it was expensive. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t recommend it but for the nice lady.

Nothing fancy here. Just fresh seafood as an adjunct to their seafood business. Small selection of fresh and frozen seafood, mostly from Mexico. But also some pre-packaged crawfish etc. I got some cabrilla velacruz style which was a fresh cabrilla fillet with a simple tomato sauce. So nice to taste fresh fish in Tucson. The fresh shrimp for sale seemed quite reasonable as well; it was all tail on-head off.

My Tuesday Downtown, Southside Lunch Group went here for lunch yesterday. It is a Fish Market, so be prepared. But saying that ITIS A FISHMARKET and our fish was awesome. I had the Mixed Soup which was chucks of a think White Fish Filet and Shrimp. I got the small and still have leftovers for a snack. Another friend had the Salmon and it looked wonderful. They also had homemade fries which were really tasty. We will be back not only for lunch but to buy some fresh seafood for home.

What an odd little anomoly down in South Tucson. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much of anything. Inside, it’s a kitschy sea-farer’s museum. I’d heard about getting seafood here, but had no idea when walking in that there’s an actual restaurant as well as a fish monger. I’ll be back to try the offerings at some point soon just out of sheer curiosity. On this trip however, I was looking more to purchase some fish for a home-cooked meal. The choices were minimal. There were oysters, salmon, shrimp, and Caribbean snapper. I went conservative and got a pound of salmon. I have to say it was delicious fish. If they use what they have at their restaurant, which I’m guessing they do, then this might be a little hidden gem! Besides the fish, they also have spices, tartar sauce, and things like that for purchase. Tough place to find, but so far it’s promising. Watch for updates after I try their meals.
