Always Awesome — whenever we are in Truckee we plan on lunch here. Today I had breakfast– wow was it good. The pancakes might be the best I have eaten out.

OK quality food, more expensive than one would expect at most places, I guess being a mountain town has to be factored into the price. Lipstick on my coffee cup. No refills offered, empty plates not taken away on a pretty slow day. Owners/employees very nice. If service was tightened up I wouldn’t think twice about $ 10 for a ham sandwich but on this day I Subway would have been a better choice.

«Coffee And» is a lovely little breakfast place. My wife and I stopped here on our honeymoon yesterday. They have a wide selection as far as their menu goes and the food was good. The staff was attentive and kind. We recommend stopping here if you are ever in Truckee.

Great grub. Fast service. No frills, no nonsense, get what you came for old time diner. Also — I forgot my credit card and they mailed it to me in New York. Now that’s above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks!

Ate here 10 years ago and finally got to stop back by, been wanting to. Didn’t disappoint, great breakfast spot and really nice staff. Got the French toast which was good, husband said his omelet was great and son’s chocolate chip pancake was huge.

Meh. Took 30 minutes for food from time to order. Not that crowded. Confusing. Something is wrong here. Perhaps undersized kitchen or new kitchen crew. Gordon Ramsay would lose his voice working on this one.

Came here for lunch. Good menu of both breakfast and lunch options. I like how it’s a good old fashion diner, nothing fancy. Had the mushroom Swiss burger. It was very delish. The mushrooms are thick sliced not thin which gave the burger a really nice texture. They constantly refill your coffee cup, A+!

Great coffee, good food and fair prices. I like the old diner feel. Service was friendly and fast. I go through here on a regular basis so I will return.

I’ve been coming in here and eating breakfast at the counter since I was a little kid. My favorite breakfast place in Truckee. It’s the real deal, has been there forever. Great diner

Breakfast. 30 min wait. 4 kids two adults. Busy morning, took about 10 min for a waitress. They were busy. Our two year old was in meltdown mode so they were quick to get him a Mickey Mouse pancake. I had the chorizo burrito which could have had more chorizo it was full of refried beans. My wife’s huevos rancheros were Luke warm at best but she still enjoyed it. Kids got the three meat omelette with a side of hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Get this. It’s the best. And you will skip lunch. I’d eat here Again for the basics and the price. Only wish they had bloody Mary’s.

I think this would be a good place for breakfast. It was not the lunch place I would have chosen. It didn’t feel friendly and it didn’t feel clean to me. Our waitress seemed pissed. I also thought the food was not up to the prices they charged. We had a better meal at Moody’s. Food was OK, but not satisfying and the vibe of the place did not make you want to linger. I might try it for breakfast some day but it would never be my choice for lunch or dinner.

Good prices. Had the Reuben Sandwich which was top notch! Their clam chowder was delicious as well, although it was not served very hot at all. Their Biscuits and Gravy was not good. Well let me clear that up, gravy good, biscuits not good. Bleh Also, steer clear of the Patty Melt, they barely give you any beef in it at all. Overall I’ll be back, for select menu items :)

In a land of carbs it’s great to find a place where you can find a protein plate. Hubby, the teenager and me were in Truckee doing some shopping when breakfast called our name. We were seated quickly(the place was packed) and greeted by a friendly server. She had our coffee and waters out quickly. While the coffee wasn’t incredible… it was good! Hubby and the teenager ordered pancakes and bacon(thanks guys) but I chose the protein plate. It included choice of meat(I chose chicken breast), boiled egg, and tomatoes. It was very good but mostly I just appreciated the fact that they even had a protein option. Great fast service I do think they are a little pricey but overall, a good place for breakfast. Their lunch and dinner menu looked good as well.

Biscuits & Gravy + Scrambled Eggs + Home Fries + Links Excellent food, nice broad serving it, good price. Their excellent local reputation is well-deserved. I’ll be back, maybe less hungover next time.

Diner food with wood paneling and brown laminate tables; mostly locals here looking for the basics. We had two egg breakfast, omelet, pancakes, and bacon, which is nice thick slices. The food is all basic with a little chorizo and hot sauce here and there. The sourdough toast is my favorite. Today’s side of fruit included watermelon and cantaloupe. They serve basic black coffee in huge mugs and I happily get a refill.

If you are going to put the word«Coffee» in your title, I expect to get a freaking darn good cup of coffee… um not here! I had to add more sugar and cream than normal to get it to the point in which it was drinkable. The biscuts and gravy with cheese and onions(grilled) were tasty. They also serve a decent portion of hashbrowns. The only other thing I was not that impressed with was the fact that they seat multiple parties at one community table. I’m not really a morning person and to share my table with someone else’s kids less than 3 feet from me, ugh, no thank you!

Great place, sit at counter or a table. It’s 4 th of July and we got in fast and food came out very quick! Huge bacon! Waitress was fantastic, personable and she was busy as as a bee. Food was great! I will stop in the future before going to Tahoe, beautiful downtown setting! Happy Fourth!

Great breakfast place! Ordered the steak with a side of fruit and biscuits and gravy. The portions are incredibly generous and gave us all food coma. The gravy for the biscuits was nice– simple, creamy and«light». Loved how they drowned two biscuits with the gravy. I ordered my steak rare but it was medium rare. My friend ordered his medium rare and his was medium… Either way we were famished and devoured it after using A1 sauce. The two eggs(over easy) were perfectly fried. My fruit was okay. Should have got a pancake and gone all out on the carbs instead! Heard the coffee is great but I opted for hot water w/lemon since I was still sick. Good to know though right? If you’re going to have coffee in your name, it better be good! Wait wasn’t too bad for us on a Sunday morning(around 10AM). About 15 minutes. gave me some time to do some quick browsing in the little stores. Service was very friendly, efficient and the food came out quickly. Will definitely return!
