While the appearance is not the best I have ever seen. It isn’t a place to go sit and chat with friends over a Danish. It’s a come in, order and go kind of joint. You have the same glass counters you would findf at any bakery showing off the products to order. If something isn’t on display just ask the person at the counter. Sometimes they have more in the back. The staff is usually pleasant for the most part. I have moved to Orlando Florida a few years back, and when asked what is the one food product I want the most from home it is a crème donut from Italian peoples bakery. Never have I ever craved something so much then one of these. On my last trip home I waited to the last day to enjoy a few. This wait wasn’t totally by choice these donuts are one of the things they are known for, and can run out really fast. Like an hour after they open fast. So if you don’t go early enough you will find yourself going to location to location to find one. This store usually has them a little bit longer than the others.
Despite the appearance as well as the sometimes grizzly demeanor of the staff. I find that just on the crème donuts alone that the Italian Peoples bakery is Fat Kid tested Fat Kid approved.

I hate to give so few stars to a local institution, but wow, how the mighty have fallen… well, at least compared to their Butler Street location.
What a depressing bakery. Maybe the anthropomorphic doughnuts on the wall are supposed to lighten the mood? YIKES. It is definitely not working — the baked-​goods-​with-​faces are not as creepy as clowns, but they’re not far off. I don’t believe they do the baking on the premises these days — at least not all of it, because I recently tried to order a round loaf to make a muffuletta at home, and I was told that was a special order (even though it was listed on the menu). Rye may or may not be a special order, depending on the day as well. So, that’s frustrating. And, today, the door was wide open; I have no idea if they don’t have AC (it was pleasant today) or if they do, in fact, bake on premises, and needed to air the place out. But the open door invited copious amounts of flies. Nast.
It’s unintentional, but I’ve gone in on Thursdays on and off for the last year, the day they have a buy-​one, get-​one deal on stick bread and spoleto, so that makes me happy — especially since their loaves are up to $ 3.50, thanks to some tape and handwritten numbers on the sign. You can get a cheaper loaf at Wegman’s — and Wegman’s has an expensive (but wonderful) bakery (with no noticeable members of the genus musca flitting about), so IPB’s BOGO is a good value, and the bread is still yummy. Though I plan to warm mine up tonight to cook off any potential fly yak.

This is by far the worst bakery I’ve been to. There is pretty much nothing on display. The cake slices are not fresh even though they claim it was baked fresh. Too much sugar and horrible taste makes you wish you’d rather have gone to a grocery store and bought frozen cake instead!

I try to support local business but the staff here is really making it tough. I actually thought they were closed for business when I drove by until I saw people in there! Once inside, they don’t seem to have much on display but apparently they have a big inventory in the back. Being a new customer, I didn’t realize that and felt that I was chastised a bit from the girl behind the counter. Rolls were good. Garlic bread was intensely over-​salted.
