This place needs a Unilocal update — the single existing review was pre rebuild. I grew up in suburban NJ, but now live in Philly. I have yet discovered a good«Jersey» style diner in Philly. I jump when I have the opportunity to go to a Jersey diner. There is nothing special about the food, but I get that nostalgic craving. Last night was that occasion to visit the Parkside Diner. The diner was rebuilt recently, so I thought it would be worth giving a try. The menu offers over 50 versions of omelets. These aren’t your standard omelets, but all are 5 egg omelet(with an equal amount of home fries). I got the Monte Cristo version(egg, turkey, ham, swiss). I was dumb to eat this with ketchup, should of used the maple flavored corn product(a diner standard). Overall, impressed with the value, good service, and great experience. It’s difficult for a diner to get more than 3 stars, there are so many dumps out there, but this is the Jersey standard.

the parkside diner is NOT a good diner. very few diners are good. this is just another typical, mediocre diner, the americana diner on rt 130 in hightstown is a friggin amazing diner. the best thing about the parkside is if you’re a cop and trying to catch the guy that shot that other guy in the housing projects the other night… he’ll most likely be there after 11pm on any given friday or saturday night.
