Favorite Ice cream shop. Come her often for my sweet tooth. They also sponsor many local pee wee sports in the neighborhood. The owner is super friendly and my kids love coming here to hang out with friends and have there favorite ice cream.

Ice cream cakes and flying saucers are always fresh and amazing! Love this place. Been coming here for years and have never been let down. Perfect stop after getting Chinese at Sun Lok :-)

Not gonna lie: a former coworker told me a story about finding a large grasshopper in a cup of Carvel ice cream some years back, and I cannot get that thought out of my head. Also, I am not an ice cream aficionado, but am quite certain that the«hard» stuff is «real» ice cream; soft serve is junk food. I prefer the real deal, and I tend to order it, even in a place like Carvel, and I’m always disappointed. Unless I’ve ordered a limited time flavor, Carvel’s scoopable ice cream is always stale, and motivates me to just hit Halo Farm for my ice cream fix. Luckily, junk food has its place in the universe, and Carvel does that right. My son and I went the other night — he ordered a chocolate cone with two toppings, which they accommodated by providing a cup. And, he’s 6, so I appreciated that for other reasons! I got a Carvelanche — Carvel’s answer to DQ’s Blizzard, except without the variety. But, we’re talking ice cream and sugary bits — there’s no need for fussiness. I got a vanilla(soft serve) and cookie dough chunks. I got a small, and it was probably about the same price as The Blizzard, but not nearly as well made. Not a complaint as much as an observation. Carvel gives you a cup of soft serve, and throws the toppings in, and gives it less than half a stir, as opposed to DQ’s solid thrashing. But, I think DQ uses hard ice cream, which can withstand some abuse. But it was nearly 100 degrees when we went to Carvel, and soft serve melts quickly on a cool day — so it was mere seconds before my Carvelanche was uniformly mixed. And, it was really good! As good as a Blizzard, I’d say, which is pretty good. I’m not sure if I would have ordered it, except it’s a menu item I haven’t noticed before, and the blend ins probably haven’t had a chance to get stale. They have some new, fancy, candy-coated cones in their display cases that looked very appealing — I may pick up a few for my freezer the next time we go in. Also — I really like the owner of this particular store. He’s a really nice guy. Funny, friendly, good with kids. His staff seems happy, too. Good customer service can really elevate a business.

I’m not sure what happened, but just after my negative review, the owner’s attitude completely changed. Much better place to visit these days!

When I was growing up in North Jersey, Carvel and Dairy Queen were duking it out for soft serve ice cream supremacy. It was my impression that DQ won the war, while Carvel was never fully vanquished and managed to hang on in backwaters were the Queen chose not to go. Hamilton seems to be one of those places because it has at least 2 Carvels in proximity to each other. I never took sides in this conflict because I liked them both. It wasn’t a religious thing for me as for some of my friends who could not understand my agnosticism. Carvel was a little firmer and maybe a tad sweeter on my tongue, while DeekKew had that soft meltiness that you could wait to drink at the end of the night, and seemed be start dripping the moment it left the dispensing machine. I spied this Carvel in Yardville exiting a local pizzeria the other day. It sat in a building in the middle of the Dover Shopping Center on Broad Street and Sunnybrae Blvd. It was a nice sunny day, so I impulsively went in to get a small cup of vanilla to renew acquaintances The proprietor came out of the back upon the sound of the door bell chiming. He had been there over 20 years. He was gracious and had a quietness about him that made me feel like I had walked into a Buddhist shrine. That was unexpected, but cool. I suddenly felt that eating a small portion of the ice cream would be good for me. How convenient. I enjoyed my minor interlude with Carvel. Each spoonful generating reveries of golden hued days of childhood and innocence. Maybe Carvel won that war after all.

I’ve been coming here my entire life, will always be my favorite ice cream store. My favorite is their banana barges. Now that I live up in North Jersey I miss it so much. The owner knows me and my entire family because we all have been coming here.

Its good. Just be careful of your«coupons». The owner refuses to take any kind of coupon that says Carvel even if the Entertainment book«accidentally» printed his store name on the coupon as well. For being an a-hole of an owner… minus 2 stars.

What can go wrong with Carvel? Nothing. Go get their Arctic Blender — Peanut Butter flavor. 100+F degree? No problem. The first bite, will cool you down right away. Another plus is the fact that they are located very close to my work place. It’s a nice alternative to the Frappé from McD near by. I think they’ve been there forever. since there’s a lot of photos on local elementary schools from year to year inside this small store. I want to try their ‘Latte’ next :)
