Virginia Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

Had an issue with my newer home furnace (less than 5 years old) leaking water over the weekend. I had to shut the unit off during the coldest days of the year so far. Called the company that installed the unit only to find they are now renamed and the guy started diagnosing my issues over the phone to the worst case scenario. Wouldn’t even listen about my warranty from York.
So I looked up the York website and found that Virginia Mechanical was the nearest York authorized servicer/​dealer. I called York and spoke with Eddie after hours. He knew exactly what the problem was and told me he would order the part first thing Monday morning. He suggested I call early Monday and get something scheduled out. I called Monday and spoke with the ladies at the office who already spoke with Eddie and were familiar with my issue. Since I had an extenuating circumstance, they made arrangements to have Bill come out and make the repairs as soon as possible. He quickly got the part, installed it and by that afternoon we had heat again with no water leaks. Bill even found where the installer and my home builder failed to follow code and place a pan under the furnace that would have prevented damage to my house.
We are thankful for the prompt response Virginia Mechanical provided and the customer service given.

This company is a rip off their technician came out because I AC was leaking water. He should have only charged $ 79 however he charged. $ 130. He said just after briefly looking at the unit that we needed a new coil and condenser unit and that it would cost $ 1800. He didn’t put the unit back together. I complained to the Vice President and she said she could reduce the cost to $ 1400. I called another company out they didn’t charge to come out and he said the coil and condenser didn’t need to be replaced he said it was a clogged pipe. He cleaned it and it didn’t leak any more he also replace the pipe because he said it was to straight and that is why it clogged. I called back Virginia mechanical to ask for my money back and they have not responded. The young technicians are no good and only want you to spend more more money

Our Ac hadn’t been working well, but completely went out on a HOTTTTTT SUMMER afternoon. I didn’t realize it until around 4:30pm. I called Virginia Mechanical but they were closed so I left a message. Brandy called me back within a few minutes and totally took care of everything. From start to finish I had a brand new AC installed in about 3 days. I have nothing but good things to say about Brandy/​Bill and everyone else over there at Virginia Mechanical! I’m not even stressed out about the impending heat wave because I know my house will be nice and cool!!!

We signed up for the bi-​annual maintenance plan, and Virginia Mechanical came out this week to do the summer check-​up of our AC. Technician spent an hour running different tests and came back with a good report for the unit — no repairs necessary. While other HVAC companies might try to sell us parts or even a new unit, I appreciate the honesty of Virginia Mechanical. Priceless!

Our a/​c died on the hottest day of the year (104) and everyone was booked solid. she scheduled us four days out but promised to fill us in with a cancellation as we have a three month old. True to her word, she called the next day with a late evening appointment which we were soooo grateful for. Literally an hour later, the a/​c was up and running! Thank you for great customer service… I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you all!

I was able to get them to come out right away when my heater wasn’t working, Eddy diagnosed and fixed the problem right away. He was very nice, I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing heating & air service.

Often, one only hears negative stories with services based companies, however Virginia Mechanical performed just the opposite. Although they made a mistake in their initial work, that didn’t appear for a few weeks. They were back out within an hour after my call. It could have been an dreadful experience if they were a shady company who denied responsibility. Such was not the case. We all make mistakes, it’s how we handle that shows true character. Virginia Mechanical was forthright and spent considerable time and cost to correct. I’m not one to normally write reviews, but I was so impressed with their handling that I had to share my experience and thank them for their good morals. I’m hopeful karma will return the favor to Virginia Mechanical.

Can’t really provide a review. I called a few weeks ago and never got the courtesy of a call back. Also called at 4:15 this afternoon and no one was there to answer the phone. Taking my business elsewhere. Most customers don’t complain about bad service, they just don’t come back.

We have a fireplace insert that hasn’t worked in 2 years. We didn’t know who to call for repair, and recently heard that Virginia Mechanical works on them. We placed a service call, the technician arrived at the specified time and got our insert back up and running. All it needed was some cleaning and maintenance — we appreciate their knowledge, professionalism and honesty, and have already scheduled an annual maintenance for NEXT year. Way to go, Virginia Mechanical!

We recently contacted Virginia Mechanical after having a bad experience with another heating and air conditioning company. From the first phone call, to the completion of the project, we found the process to be quite seamless. Both Jeff and Brandy provided us the most excellent customer service as did the technicians who did the job.
Because of the unethical practice of the previous company, we were skeptical of finding an honest contractor who would not try to make an extra buck. We were very surprised when Jeff told us about the overcharges the other company was adding on to our job. By using Virginia Mechanical we not only saved $ 500.00 but we found an honest company that we can refer without reservation.

When this company was Skelton they were excellent, on time, thorough and had fantastic customer service. That is no longer the case. They fail to return calls, order parts and don’t call when they are in and when we called to question the nearly 3 week delay, they were extremely rude saying, «We’ve been busy, it’s hot!» Of course it’s hot but you don’t have to be nasty. Sorry to see Skelton change hands, they were tried and true.

So after holding out so many years for that Smart Meter, PG&E came knocking on Friday ⁶⁄₂₉ to tell me that I had no choice. So he advised me to shutdown computers and television. It was a 100 degree weather in Tracy so I had the A/​C running but the service tech neglected to tell me to turn off the A/​C. Power came back, and a few minutes later the A/​C fan blower stop working. Husband came home and went to the attic to confirm but it was already late Friday and didn’t want to deal with it.
At 9am Saturday morning the heat was already in the 90’s so the hubby postponed looking into it but he is pretty decent when it comes to fixing things. At 9pm it cooled down a little finally so he did research online for the problem and found that the capacitor blew out during the Smart Meter installation.
This morning at 8am, we contacted Virginia Mechanical, mind you it’s Sunday and it could possibly be the warmest day of this week (in the 100’s). The A/​C technician arrived at 10:30am and confirmed the blown capacitor. Fixed it in half an hour, spent most of the time going up and down the attic (and dealing with scorching heat in there). Anyway, the final bill was $ 84.95 for half an hour work on a Sunday.
What I like about them is that they are honest! And for coming in on a Sunday and dealing with the current heat — I would’ve paid a lot more! The A/​C tech was polite, honest and more than capable. We are very happy with them! We know who to call next time something happens to our A/​C. We’re planning on replacing our POS A/​C soon and we will check on them first!
