Advanced Hearing Aid Solutions

I’ve reached the «crossroads» and after lots of «soul searching» accepted the fact that I needed hearing aids. I did research respecting the kinds of hearing aids available, their functions, quality and price. I spent hours on the internet, joined forums where «chat» was available and asked many questions. I learned that there is a wide range of choices and that pricing is negotiable.
The hearing aids I decided on are the Phonak Audeo S Smart IX. In the Los Angeles South Bay, there were several audiologists who were familiar with Phonaks. I discussed the hearing aids with some audiologists by telephone, had an appointment with one who offices in my ear, nose and throat doctor’s office and then chose to make appointments with two more.
I made an appointment with Advanced Hearing Aid Solutions, owned by Young Ham, a Board Certified Audiologist. Following a hearing test and a 2^nd appointment, I decided to purchase the hearing aids from him.
At my 3^rd appointment, I was «introduced» to my new hearing aids and Mr. Ham used a computer, to assist him in adjusting the hearing aids. I was impressed because Mr. Ham advised me that the precise fitting involves several appointments and can’t be rushed.
I’ve waited to write this review. I’ve now had four appointments and my next is scheduled in a few weeks. At each appointment, we discuss my experiences under several conditions since my last appointment.
Mr. Ham recommends adjustments and discusses more options. He is concerned about not «overloading» the patient with too much information at one time … rather … choosing to educate the patient slowly so that the information can be effectively absorbed.
The appointments are all included in the price of the hearing aids. I’ve felt as if I’ve been treated like a member of his family. Mr. Ham is patient, caring, knowledgeable and experienced. I had the feeling that all of my questions were respected and perceived to be legitimate. And, I believe that Mr. Ham is 100% honest. He has a great sense of humor and I feel comfortable with him. I would recommend him to anyone who believes he or she has hearing issues.
