I feel like it’s overpriced for what is offered. I’ve eaten at other sushi restaurants that were similarly priced, and felt like Yuzu is a bit more expensive. I’d rather go to a few other sushi spots before coming to Sushi Yuzu. Nothing was bad, all of the fish was great. However, it just was not amazing or any better than other spots in the same«price tier». Would I come back to Yuzu? Possibly.

The only reason that I wouldn’t give this place a 5 star would be to get rid of the competition! haha. That being said, this place is def my go to spot for sushi. The prices are justified and the ambiance is nice as well. Just make sure to make a reservation or else you are going to wait! They are nice enough to have heaters outside the door for the evenings but still… I’d rather be eating delicious sushi!

My new favorite sushi spot. Kevin and Francis are the best chefs around town. Must have items — salmon sushi fingerlime with black pepper, red snapper with Japanese mint and really anything else these two chefs suggest. Price is right and service is friendly. Get there early, bc it’s popular If they’re full– go across the street to their other location kabosu!

Sushi Yuzu is out of this world! Definitely my favorite sushi spot. Their fish is extremely fresh and all their rolls are generally on the lighter side(not like every other sushi place that coats their rolls with spicy mayo and eel sauce). I recommend getting their truffle edamame, yellowtail sashimi with cilantro jalapeño, yuzu roll, lime roll, and lemon roll. I’m a big texture person when it comes to sushi and their yuzu roll always hits the spot when it comes to that since it is topped with micro greens and thinly sliced crispy onions. It also has cilantro, jalapeño, and is topped with a garlic ponzu sauce which gives it a Mexican twist that I LOVE. The lemon and lime rolls are both slightly acidic which makes them really refreshing. The lime roll is my favorite between the two. It is topped with a thin slice of jalapeño, fingerling lime, and a tiny dash of black pepper. This leaves your taste buds experiencing a little bit of spice along with the citrus notes. Amazing! This place is ALWAYS packed so either make a reservation or be prepared to wait. It’s worth it though, trust me!

I chose Sushi Yuzu to cater my Birthday lunch at work and they did an AMAZING job. There were orders for about 25 people and they individually labeled peoples names on each order which made it easy for us to distribute around the office. The sushi is great quality and presented well. They were very helpful with assisting loading all the food in our pick up guys car. Super happy, everyone loved it.

Love love love!!! I’ve been coming here for awhile now so this review is long overdue… I must say– Fish is always fresh! Some of my favorites include the Lemon roll, Yuzu roll, and baked crab roll! Mmmmm I also dig salmon and albacore sushi straight up. This place can get pretty crowded so make a reservation if possible! Try it for yourself you won’t be disappointed ;)

Parking: Street parking for 2 hours until 6PM. There is also a small lot, but it only has roughly 3 dedicated spots for Sushi Yuzu. If you are eating in the evening, you may be able to park in the other spots as they may be for businesses that are closed. Based on some of the reviews, the wait times can get pretty insane, so a reservation is recommended. They were open for new years so we didn’t have to wait when arriving at around 5:30. But even on new years, the place did get packed closer to 6 – 6:30. Sushi Yuzu is not quite 100% pure sushi(i.e. no sauces and nothing crazy) and definitely not over the top(e.g. Magical Dragon Tempura Crazy back flip roll). They fall somewhere in the middle. Overall the sushi is top notch and you can’t go wrong with the yuzu and lemon roll. Both were solid and did not require any soy sauce. Additionally, I ordered a simple salmon sushi to see if it was comparable to some of the stuff I’ve had in Japan. It was surprisingly very similar with the same smooth and melt in your mouth texture. Service was splendid and everyone was very friendly. My new favorite place to get sushi in LA.

My sis had an amazing previous experience here, so when we wanted to meet for lunch today, she didn’t hesitate to recommend Sushi Yuzu. The location was great, but parking was a nightmare(Small lot & packed streets) and the food wasn’t a stand out ‘sushi’ experience for me. The crab /salmon croquettes were really good & so was the beet salad(anything w/perfectly ripe avocado pieces wins in my book)! The salmon sushi & California roll just were OK-still . My sis agreed that the last experience was better — but the location/atmosphere/service would warrant a return visit from me. On point with water refills too! :)

Yellow tail cheek sushi, sushi with grapefruit on top was stellar, lime roll, and the presentation of the lobster roll are worthy of a try. Nicely appointed finishes, not as dated as some other places, appeared to be very clean. Great location off Riverside in Toluca Lake. Go early for lunch, they get slammed at 1pm.

I have no idea how I still haven’t given Yuzu its well deserved stars. I’ve been a loyal customer even before Yuzu opened– I used to go to Kushiyu(same owners) in Tarzana. Yuzu is one of the best sushi restaurants(and I’ve had some great sushi in the past). Their Japanese toro just melts in your mouth– yes, it’s a bit expensive($ 19.00) for 2 pcs but it’s well worth it. The lemon roll is a popular one. Some of my favorite rolls are the Chilean sea bass roll with asparagus, the baked salmon roll, and the lemon roll. Definitely try the scallop with mayo sushi and the sweet shrimp sushi(they dont always have this one). There’s nothing I’ve had here that didn’t taste incredible. Theyre busy so make a reservation in advance. However, they have solved that problem now by opening up Kobosu across the street which is the same menu and the same sushi.(I still love Yuzu better).

In LA there seems to be a sushi joint on every corner. One could get lost in the crowd. We were finished with a movie and decided to walk around to find some sushi and happened upon this restaurant. We were glad we did because the food was very good. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about but if you’re in this neighborhood I would recommend this restaurant for a good bite to eat. The caterpillar roll was huge I couldn’t even finish it. We really loved the crispy rice with tuna as well… I think I would order that next time. If I lived locally I will probably eat here a couple times a month. 3 healthy stars…

Perfect dish, master chef, excellent service — that’s what there to say about Sushi Yuzu. Why go as far as Japan for Jiro Sushi when there’s this Sushi Yuzu in LA?

No sushi experience compares to sitting at the bar and being served by the owner/head chef. He is beyond amazing! We don’t even request any specific dishes because we trust his opinion so much. They also offer black truffle shavings on just about anything. The toro, hamachi, and Norwegian salmon are just amazing. Make reservations as the high quality of this place is no secret as is reflected in how busy Yuzu is, every day of the week and for every hour it operates.

My favorite sushi spot. I first tried kobasu which is owned by the same owner. My recommendations are truffle edamame which is by far the best edamame I’ve ever had. The chef even told me how I could make it at home! Their sushi is very unique because it is not your average California or tempura roll. This place truly captures the amazing quality of the fish. My favorites are the lemon roll, yuzu roll, Asian roll, and the cilantro yellowtail hamachi! The restaurant is small and usually always busy, so I recommend making reservations. Whenever I’m craving sushi, this is my go to!!! I’ve never disappointed because the quality is consistently fresh and delicious.

My boss takes me here for lunch from time to time — every time he says«Sushi?» I know we’re going to Sushi Yuzu and I’m not going to lie, I get a little excited. I have definitely become a sushi snob over the course of the past few years; I have pretty high standards, especially with regard to freshness. This place never ever disappoints in the quality of their ingredients. Each time we go, we order a few of our favorites(Hamachi, Yellowtail, a sampling of sashimi, shrimp tempura) then let the chef surprise us for the last 3 or 4 dishes. This last time we were surprised with salmon/caviar, tuna belly/fresh truffle and a lobster hand roll. I can’t even describe how fresh and perfect each piece was. To me, freshness is #1 when it comes to sushi. Honestly, the service can be mediocre as long as the fish is fresh. But, luckily this place has friendly service and amazing food. We always sit at the bar, where the service is quick and personal. I can’t vouch for the service at a table, but at the bar it’s always been damn near perfect. The chefs are always knowledgeable on what their freshest/newest ingredients are and they are not shy in offering suggestions or answering questions. The drinks are replenished as they’re consumed and we’re checked in on frequently. This place truly is a gem, and I am insanely lucky to have it located less than a mile from my office! Hands down the best Sushi place in the valley and at least in the top 10 in all of Los Angeles.

I love Sushi Yuzu. It’s something I tend to forget until I’m there, smelling the rice vinegar and seeing all the lemon rolls go by. Since working in Burbank, this and its sister restaurant, Kobasu, have become some of my preferred lunch spots when craving sushi. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you have the foresight to pick your lunch restaurant sooner than an hour before like I always end up doing. That said, I have never had to wait all that long for a table even though the restaurant is small. Not only do they have awesome lunch specials(like the $ 14 chicken teriyaki, albacore sashimi, miso soup, salad, and other assorted sides combo), but their sushi is fresh and prepared very well. As probably everyone has mentioned, the lemon roll is incredible so just go for it. That said, my go-to Yuzu lunch these days has been one order of muki-hotate(jumbo scallop nigiri deliciousness) and zaru soba. This runs me $ 16 and fills me completely. The service at Yuzu is definitely faster than at Kobasu, especially if you’re sitting at the sushi bar, which I definitely recommend. They have a few parking spots in the adjacent lot and street parking is somewhat easy to find if you don’t mind walking a bit. Random tip: the vegan roll is surprisingly wonderful and you will not regret giving it a shot.

This is my favorite sushi place in the valley. It never disappoints. The location itself is small so make sure you call ahead of time and make reservations. They do take walk-in’s but you might have to wait a while for a table. Some of my favorites are: — Albacore Sushi –Yellowtail Roll –Spicy Tuna on crispy rice cake –Warm edamade with truffle oil –Lemon Roll They serve high quality sushi. Therefore, you will totally get your money’s worth.

Holy moly. Best sushi I’ve had in forever! Made reservations for a friend and I to have dinner around 8pm, since that’s the earliest they had available. We went all out — truffle edamame, spicy popper roll(popcorn shrimp on top of spicy tuna), lemon roll, yuzu roll, and the baked crab and salmon roll. We also ordered the uni and scallop sushi, but our waiter came back to let us know they were out of uni. Boo. The lemon roll was absolutely perfect. All of the flavors were just totally on point. Prices were totally reasonable and everything tasted fresh and amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try that scallop and uni sushi!
