I owe a shout out to this Washington Square Gem for delivering fabulous customer service but also getting to know my taste and constantly giving me options. I have done my jewelry shopping for friends/family/myself primarily at Something Silver for almost a decade and everything I have purchased has been complimented and admired. Most of the jewelry designers are local(northwest), however; the Phyrra line is my top down favorite. If you have seen shows like Sons of Anarchy or Once Upon a Time, you will notice the stars wearing these exquisite stamped pieces and Something Silver is the only boutique in the Portland Metro Area where I can find them. The team at Something Silver will special order these if they do not carry a certain amulet that you may find online. I Love This! Prices here range from in the teens to hundreds but please do not let that chase you away, because although the name states silver… this place if a gold mine of splendid treasures.

This store has an unending amount of random junk suitable for giving to your high school age girlfriend. The only problem will be that your average high school age boy will probably not be able to afford the price tags.

I love Something Silver! This location is good. The space feels rather small and closed in(compared to the Pioneer Place location), but they have lots and lots of wonderful jewelry showcased well here. The displays are arranged by designer. I like the little cards that tell you about each designer. I also like that they carry local designers. One of the cutest is smallthings designs. Their stuff is very pretty. Check out their web site for other designers that they carry. I purchased a lotus pendant for my friend’s birthday here. It was one of the most beautiful pendants I’ve ever seen — I wish I’d gotten one for myself as well. They gift wrapped for us and gave us a gift receipt that can be used at any of their nationwide locations. The jewelry here spans costume stuff to sterling silver with gemstones. They also have a whole case with just chains — different lengths, styles and weights. I wanted to buy a chain to replace one that I’d broken, but I didn’t have the pendant with me… I recommend bringing in the pendant you need a chain for so you can accurately pick out the chain that will work for you. Oh, and they also have a growing selection of men’s jewelry. Sam doesn’t wear jewelry so I don’t know much about it — I’ve just noticed that they have more heavy gauge chains and rings with skulls than before — the section is growing! The service here is okay. It really depends on whose in the store. Some of the workers here are very knowledgeable and they really know their merchandise. Others, not so much. The other reason this isn’t a five-star review is that their prices are high. I don’t think they’re unreasonably high, but for their image it just seems a bit steep. Because a lot of their stuff is sterling silver, it is priced like fine jewelry — which it should be — but the store looks very mall-ish. This store is one of my favorite places to browse. The shininess always lures me into the store! Check them out for some great sparklies!
