Went there to celebrate my birthday with family and it was a wonderful experience! The Salmon with Baby Potatoes and Sautéed Spinach was cooked to perfection! The 5 layer chocolate cake was shared by three and very satisfying. The staff were super efficient and wonderful! It was so nice that I have to check out their other dishes someday. It smelled like good food when we entered… like delicious seafood! In a very good way. I was pleasantly surprised because it looks like a small establishment and nothing special. Thanks Portland Seafood Company for helping me celebrate in a bodacious way! I wanted good Salmon and you did that for me and so much more. ‘preciate it.

This was an above average seafood restaurant. Service was outstanding as my kids never had an empty drink. My wife and I had the swordfish and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is perfect for the cuisine as it has coastal feel. They even accommodated my son with some tempura shrimp that wasn’t even on the menu. Price wise, everything ranges from about $ 12.99 — $ 24.99 unless you go for the Maine lobster, which was $ 34.99 at the time. Eat here! You won’t be disappointed!

We braved the day after Christmas crowds at Washington Square to try lunch at the Portland Seafood Company and were not disappointed. The first positive was even finding parking! Once inside, we were seated immediately and our server Tammany (sp?) appeared. She recited the day’s specials and took our drink order. Very soon a small, deliciously piping hot loaf of sourdough bread and butter was brought to our table… that we immediately devoured.
I decided I wanted to try the sockeye salmon special for $ 17.95: generous portion of grilled sockeye laid atop a bed of fresh steamed spinach with a roasted red pepper sauce that was perfectly seasoned, along with a handful of crispy baby potatoes. I also had a cup of the New England clam chowder and remarked to my husband about how full of clams it was. It was perfect! My husband ordered the a cup of the Manhattan clam chowder (loved it) and the hazelnut crusted Alaskan halibut ($ 22) with honey-​ginger butter and those amazing crispy baby potatoes. He also had a glass (well, really two) of Duck Pond Pinot Gris ($ 7.79 a glass) along with his meal, I stayed with iced tea. Tammany checked on us several times and refilled my iced tea glass often.
The restaurant has a pleasant nautical-​theme without being overdone (aka there wasn’t any fake seagull crap anywhere) with comfortable booths as well as tables. We were seated right away but there was a wait out the door by the time we left. No doubt weary after-​Christmas shoppers needing a break.
I’m glad we decided to try Portland Seafood Company, we left full and happy. We will be back.

We came here on a pitstop to the mall on a random day off, as I don’t usually have the luxury of making it in time for happy hours. This place was good. I had some oyesters, fish and chips. My wife had the tacos and a ceaser salad. I would recommend it if you are in the mall during happy hour time.
The bar area is not big, so if you get in, take a load off and enjoy.

Excellent clam chowder, The canjun steelhead is very good, seafood Cobb salad also very good

Going to sleep waiting for our orders… no excuse for such a L-​O-​N-​G wait! Not even that busy here as its well after noon. Don’t see how the food could possibly be good enough to compensate.

Good and quick service, delicious hot food! Had the crab leg bucket and it was hot fresh and flavorful! Kids meals were great but could use a side of fruit or something to make it more healthy. Would go back again.

Went in based on reviews, had a nice dinner. I had the Halibut fish and chip. Great flavor, nice a crisp, a little to greasy for me. Randy had the Alaskan Halibut with pesto and linguine, he said it was great. Server was helpful but awfully quiet. All in all a good meal at a decent price.

Portland Seafood Company Washington Square oysters at happy hour were fine the fried oysters were cold. Also had 2 orders of fish an chips requested extra crispy for both fish an chips. Did not happen no crisp fish seemed soggy an old close to may be bad very disappointed, as both of us were some what sick from this experience. When this is your theme you would think it would be flawless.

Used a Groupon for two Fish N Chips. Only available for dinner. Only available Mon-​Wed. It was delicious! Fish had just the right amount of batter and the fries were like home fries. The side coleslaw salad had the perfect blend of sweet and savory to totally balance out the dish. Our artichoke and shrimp dip appetizer with grilled baguettes set the tone for a great meal. If Mon– Wed works for you then come out and bring your Groupon.

This restaurant used to be a Newport Bay, other then the name not much seams to have changed. It is still owned by the same company. Other then the name change the other big change seems to be that they stenciled NSC on the back of the chairs.
The food is still very OK. Not great, not bad. Service tends to be good.
The fish and chips are reliably good. It has nice sized pieces of fish and the fries are good.
Overall I have never had a bad meal hear, or a memorable one.

Had a really great experience here. The food was fantastic and it was reasonably priced for what we got. Had a special trout salad, oysters (which they baked special for us), and the crab bucket. All were great. Their cole slaw is some of the best we’ve ever had and the service in the bar area was the perfect level of attentive.

I went there at lunch time and had their tomato based seafood soup and a crab/​shrimp melt. The soup was spicy and reminiscent of cioppino with fresh seafood. The sandwich was a little disappointing. It was also fresh but in my opinion too much cheese and mayonnaise. The bread was delicious, tasted homemade and the ingredients were fresh. I also ordered a Lavender Cosmo which was made perfectly. The service was friendly and atmosphere nice… Right in the mall. The pedi place across the hall is amazing too, if looking for girl’s lunch out.

*A nice menu with lots of seafood choices both hot and cold.

The Shrimp Louie salad had a generous amount of shrimp, very fresh tomatoes and mixed greens, as well as tangy 1000 Island dressing. My friend’s crab melt came with slaw and fries. It looked delicious and she said it was. I want that next time.
Our server answered all of our questions about the menu and made helpful suggestions.

Fish was delish. Nothing to complain about. Good service, attentive, friendly and fast. Only gripe was the kids grilled cheese sandwich. the bread was rye with some seeds in it not a fan

After most of the day in the Accountants office, we needed to stop in for Happy
Hour and try some PSC food and more importantly some drink !. We went in for some fish and chips, and some Mahi Mahi Fish and chips. Added some clam chowder and some white wine.
The Happy Hour version fish and chips while priced attractively at 4.99… the «chips «part are a bit lacking IMO. They are just hard and crunchy potato chips. I would have been happier with just fries. The Mahi Mahi fish and chips version comes with sweet potato fries which are quite good, but just one piece of fish for a dollar more than the regular fish and chips (two pieces of cod.) The sweet pepper sauce with the Mahi is excellent.
The person in my party that ordered the Mahi Mahi didn’t care for it and traded it to me for a piece of my regular cod. She thought the Mahi was a bit «fishy» but to me I thought it was good.
The chowder is very good and quite different than most chowders around… but very good.
Our server and bartender was Calvin and he was very very good. Our compliments to him for sure. Top Shelf.
SO. The food is better than average from I can see, the service was great and the Bill very reasonable. We would go back if in the area.

The fish and chips are very good and tasted very fresh. The fries were the best part.

Fries weren’t very flavorful but the halibut was so delicious, melted in my mouth. They didn’t drip with grease like some, omg I need to eat them again! But way too little for the price. Coleslaw has way too much dressing, drenched. They were nice to allow us to get a new one though with less dressing. Next time I will know to just ask in advance.
3 piece Cod fish and chips. $ 15
Not nearly as delicious as the halibut. Halibut is worth the extra few bucks.
Pan Seared Chicken Parmesan $ 15
Delicious but a bit too small for the price.
Caesar Salad with Chicken $ 11
A little small but tasty, fresh, crispy.
Baja Style Fish Tacos $ 13
This is the only dish that was just OK. Not bad but just not as delicious as the rest. Cilantro, lime fish, guacamole, grilled tomato corn salsa, warm tortilla chips. I mean, it sounds good in theory. Not sure why it wasn’t as good, I do remember it got wet fast. They seemed to use both salmon and some white fish. I definitely prefer the latter. Salmon I only like raw but friend loved salmon so worked out perfectly.
I really like the tables that are near the large windows because you feel like you’re sitting outside. It’s so bright and open versus the rest of the restaurant which is kinda dark and depressing, for me.
The service was great and I think they really care about service because the receipt contains both the contact info for the manager there, as well as the CEO if you’d like to contact either, in addition to the survey cards on the table. I appreciate that as most execs try to hide behind a thousand other people.

Portlanders, you’re a spoiled lot. You have more good restaurants in the general outskirts of the town – much more the town itself – than we have in the entire Northern Virginia metroplex. You have food, we have the seat of the world’s political power.
You win.
Dining here at the Portland Seafood Company was a treat for a Northern Virginian. A Portland 3.5 star is a apparently equivalent Virginia 5 star rating, and there is much to like here.
First the Monday-​special house margarita is on point. Tangy without being overly bitter, salty without being overwhelming, this is the way a margarita should be made.
Next, the sourdough bread placed on the table absolutely hits you with a thick, rich sourdough scent as the server lays it on the table. It’s unmistakably fresh and full-​bodied.
I then went with a steamed clam appetizer and a seafood pot pie. The steamed clams were tiny and tender and bursting with a basil/​garlic flavor. There was plenty of sauce to sop with bread, as it should be. Delicious.
The seafood pot pie was deconstructed, more like a creamy fish stew with a flaky pastry sitting atop, and it was rife with large chunks of seafood and potatoes, and it couldn’t have been more rich, soothing, or delicious.
If I had to pick about ANYTHING – and I’m reaching here – my order was fired strangely in that my appetizer arrived about 30 seconds before my entrée did. If that’s the worst thing I can say about the meal, color me impressed, because I’m happy to complain when merited. The server was absolutely sweet and friendly on top of everything else.

TLDR; Management is good, waitstaff is good, food is not what I expected and disappointing.
The Good:
Clam Chowder, Lavender Martini and the Parmesean Crusted Chicken breast. Those three things were really well done and the only reason I didn’t walk out. It is also the reason this is a 2 star review and not a single star.
The Bad:
Some of this is my fault too. I saw their Shrimp Cocktail and mistakenly assumed that it would be the large shrimp with cocktail sauce on the side, as that’s how I’ve always ordered shrimp cocktail anywhere. When it came to me, it was the Bay shrimp and it was sandwiched between globs of cocktail sauce. The waitress took it back and gave me a shrimp cocktail closer to what I was looking for. It had 5 shrimps that weren’t cleaned all the way (some black matter still on the shrimp) and she told me that they were called «prawns» and not «shrimp». When I saw the bill later I was a little dismayed to see that 5 mediocre shrimp cost me 15.00.
I ordered the Parnesean Crusted Chicken and while the breast was fantastic, the garnish was a complete afterthought. The pasta was dried out and hard and had way too much salt (chances are, if you’re using capers you don’t need to season the garnish as much). I was disappointed with it.
I was also disappointed that they don’t have Sea Scollops on the menu. I had the wrong expectation going here. Knowing what I know now about their menu it is not somewhere I would choose to go back to. The waitress also mentioned that they don’t even have the local crab on the menu because it’s so expensive.
When we raised our concerns to Management, they did hear us out.
