I’m not a fan of getting my eyes checked. I’m far– sighted so I have had my eyes checked once in the last ten years. Another reason I hadn’t been back to get my eyes checked out is because I’d had a rough experience years ago at another eye clinic with a certain test they ran on my eyes and I really didn’t want a repeat of that, .but we use our eyes all the time and, it was just time to get the eyes checked… So I went to Lens Crafters at Washington Square mall.
First of all, they were fantastic when I had to reschedule my appointment to Saturday. They were easy to get to. Most of all, everyone from the front desk, to eye tech and the doctor were incredibly considerate with my concerns about the eye tests. They walked me through everything and explained what they were doing and why.
It won’t be another 10 years before I get my eyes checked again and when I go back, I’ll be going to Lens Crafters.

I was able to call and quickly get an eye exam. Girls at the front desk were new and they struggled a bit helping some customers but they were friendly. Eye doctor was friendly enough. I had my own frames but I got my lenses made here. I’d say they probably aren’t the cheapest but my lenses are great and they were ready in 30 min. I love the selection of frames they have here. I’m giving it four instead of five stars because I don’t like the weird sales they have. It doesn’t seem right that everyone pays a different price. I had to more for my lenses sense I didn’t buy my frames at the store.

This place is just bad. On my recent trip here, I went in to get new contacts and get my vision checked. I was brought to the back by a guy into a room with three machines to test my eye health and what not. This guy was clearly untrained, and did not know how to use the machines properly. Each machine we had to do multiple times. The worst was the machine that blows air into your eye to test for glaucoma. We had to try over ten times because he couldn’t work it. I sat there, repeatedly getting air blown into my eye (super uncomfortable!). He couldnt get the machine to read and was getting really frustrated, as was I. He kept telling me to «stop blinking» and blaming it on me for it not working. «You blinked again!» «I need you to stop blinking» … REALLY? Pretty sure it’s 100% impossible to NOT blink when high pressured air is blown into your eyes. Eventually he brought his coworker in, and she got a read on the first try.
Anyway, I met with a doctor, who was more professional, and we chose contacts and had no problems. She told me that it would take 3 – 5 days for my contacts to arrive, so she sent me home with 5 days of trial contacts so I could see until my order arrived.
A week and a half later, I called asking where my contacts were. They said they hadn’t arrived yet, which was frustrating because it had already been twice as long as they said it would be. Fast forward a few days, I call back and ask again. I’m told that I picked a very popular contact brand, and that it will still be a while. That same day (about an hour later), they called back and said that they actually have ¾ of my boxes.
I picked those up, and waited 3 weeks for the last box. A month after I picked up all my contacts, I received a phone call from their office telling me my contacts were ready to pick up, even though I already received my entire order. Overall their office seemed very disorganized and unprofessional.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I came in for sunglasses and waited months for my frames to arrive. When I came in to pick them up the frames were bent and the tech in the back was extremely out out to fix them. I have progressive lenses and I still can’t see out of the sunglasses. When I mentioned that I thought my prescription was off, I was ignored. I still have the Tiffany sunglasses that I can’t see out of. I paid $ 750 bucks with sunglasses that don’t function. I think I’ll cut my losses and sell the frames on CraigsList!

So let me start off by saying I am picky. Annoyingly so. I walked in to the store the first time, and was immediately greeted and helped by a woman named DIANA who explained the whole process to me (my first pair of glasses), and let me pick out some frames. I ended up picking out a pair and putting it on hold. Diana followed up by calling me and clarifying a few things, she is absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend ended up not liking them so much and I figured he is the one looking at me all day so I came back again with him, no luck. I went back today and was delighted to see Diana working again! She smiled when she saw me, remembered my name (even last name for my prescription-​IMPRESSIVE!), and took such great care of me. We went through about 6 or 7 different pairs one by one and took pictures to compare (my pickyness at its full potential), and picked the perfect pair! She was so patient, and kind with great advice actually! My next pair of glasses I know exactly where I am shopping and who I am looking for! I am so impressed! I am 100% satisfied with my experience. Thank you so much Diana!

I had a fairly good experience with Lenscrafters just recently when I purchased a new set of eyewear with a new prescription. It’s been a number of years since I’ve had my eyes checked so I knew it was probably due time for me to get a new prescription and some new stylin glasses to go along with them. I had my medical insurance setup with flex pay to cover an additional amount so I could expense a few dollars more for a designer pair of eyeglasses and from word of mouth I was told this was the location with the best selection of more premium brand frames.
I walked right in without an appointment and started looking around at frames. A gentleman walked up to me asked if I was looking for something particular and I explained to him that it was due time for a new pair of glasses. I knew what I wanted so I explained to the gentleman and he gave me a tray to layout some frames that I would like. I picked out about 8 frames and sat down with him and he went through a series of deductions that made the decision process a lot easier. I got down to the last two which were a pair of Versace’s and the other a pair of Prada’s and it finally went down to comfort so I chose the Prada eyewear. He took a few pics and utilized this software to make the adjustments on the frames so they would fit the best. He then walked me over to the Optometrist side and setup an appointment for 15 minutes later which gave me enough time to utilize the restroom and get something to drink. I came back and had to wait a few more minutes and finally another person came out and assisted me with my eye check. I have to say I was very impressed with how elaborate the eye check was and the bonus of the whole thing was my eyes have gotten better over the last few years! They walked me back and the guy I last spoke with was with another customer.
I waited a few more minutes and he helps me finalize my last parts of this transaction which was the billing. He got it figured out and I paid the final balance off and because my prescription was fairly simple I only waited an hour for them to be made which made my time spent there very effective. Through the point I walked in to the point I picked up my new glasses it was very streamlined to be a very efficient process. Would I use them again? Hell Yeah! Thanks Lenscrafters for making the process of getting new eyeglasses so simple!

I wish i could give half a star. I had a very terrible customer service experience.
The 1 star is for my first visit.
They back-​ordered me Frames which took a month to come in. They called me twice to pick up frame and luckily they left a voicemail for me and i spoke to one other person.
2 day later i went to pick up my frames. The girl I met asked for my name and she went to the back room. She came back out and asked for my name again and checked on the computer and went back room again. Then an older lady came out to me to ask my name again, then i pointed to her computer and said its right there. Then a guy came out and said, why are you here to pick up a frames you already picked up. so i asked him, if i picked it up, why would you call me 2days before and left me a voice mail. he made me play him my voicemail, then he went back and came back with my frames and wanted to know why i ordered a replacement frames. I asked him why its any business of his. I paid for it. so i owe you no explanation. he refused to give me my glasses until i gave him a reason. then he proceeded to saying he wants to call the the guy who left me a voicemail to confirm. After spending 1hour here with all this nonesense, he had the nerves to say «have a good day»
I spent almost $ 500 in this store for this frames.
My girlfriend was with me at the time and she saw first hand how «blacks» get treated at a retail store (she is white)
I will never step foot in this place again, and i already discouraged my coworkers from going here who were shopping for places to go.
So will I recomend this place to my worst enemy? HECK NO

From what I can tell, the selection is good and the prices are fair. However, the service is where this store falters. I have visited this location twice in the last few months in an effort to quickly buy some prescription sunglasses for an upcoming vacation, and both times haven’t received any service. The first time, I was not greeted at all. Several associates walked right past me and didn’t say «hi» let alone give me the assistance I needed. I figured that could have been a fluke. The second time, an associate said hello but didn’t ask if I needed help. She proceeded to help two other customers who came in after me, so I left. I marched up to Sears Optical that same evening where the service was excellent and the prices are even a little cheaper. Maybe you have to be more pushy to get help at LensCrafters, but I’m not willing to beg before I spend a few hundred bucks. Save your time– go elsewhere.

Completely shocked! I have never been so disappointed with someone’s customers service. My mother went because her one of her lenses got scratched and she had purchased a warrantee. Took two weeks for them to come in. She went to pick them up and left the store while in the car she noticed that her lenses did not fit in the frame all the way. We went back into the store and when we walked in we were greeted and when my mom showed the lady what was wrong she looked at us and said were these your lenses already? Her tone of voice was so rude and made us feel as if it were our fault. We said yes we had purchased them here last year and made a warrantee claim her attitude was terrible she took the glasses and walked back to another person and started whispering then someone else came back and asked us to take a seat. When they returned they said they were going to take them in the back and fix them. We got them back and they looked much better. After about two hours we noticed the gap was back… again. She went back the next day and as she was telling me she had to put up a fight to have them even look at them again. My mom is not one to speak up if there is something wrong and she was so upset. She had said to the manager «would these be acceptable to you if these were your glasses» she said nothing and took the glasses and waked away. When she got them back they said thats all they can do and rushed her out the door… Again they were ok for a few hours and now they have a gap again. My mom is completely frustrated and upset she does not want to go back and has tried to call the corporate office because of these issues. I have never personally so offended by a company and we never plan to do business at here again. Don’t go into this place expecting great customer service expect to feel like you did something wrong if there is a problem

Great store great people! Very helpful staff. My son and husband both get their glasses here and they always go above and beyond.

I have had nothing but good experiences here from the exam through both pairs of glasses. They have a wide variety of frame choices, customer service is great, and the prices very reasonable even for designer brands.

I needed to get a measurement so that I could order some prescription sunglasses.
The young man that approached me was a condescending brat. Granted, I was not going to buy the glasses there, but his attitude was the polar opposite of customer service. It took me 10 seconds to get the answer I needed from a different store by someone that understood that good customer service is a good business practice.

I went to Lenscrafters for my first pair of glasses and there were two ladies there who helped me on a Sunday evening who not only helped me find a great frame, they also recommended that I get ‘computer glasses’ vs. my original prescription based upon my real life needs. The glasses are great and so was the service!

Seriously overpriced. some of the staff is not friendly at all. customer service gets 1 out of 5, prices get 0 out of 5. Got the exact same frames and lenses elsewhere for less than half the price.

I am a repeat customer and wanted to get some different lens on my sunglass. I found out it is cheaper to buy a new sunglass with prescription then to put on your sunglass. This lady was helping me and told me she was the manager. As I was looking for a new sunglass so I can put prescription. This lady just got up and few minutes later and I found out she was going home. Then the general manager never said sorry and just told me that she went home. Wow I will take my money and my business to a different company. I was ready to buy. I am never going to LensCrafter!

I’m updating now. Here it is, March 19^th and I still haven’t recieved my glasses yet. (I ordered on 2.23.13) I’ve gotten a couple of phone calls with excuses as to why they haven’t arrived, but I haven’t talked to a manager, and no offers for any kind of compensation have been discussed. I’m not all that thrilled with the fact that it has taken almost a month for my frames to be made. I’ve already recieved a bill in the mail for their credit
VERY Frustrated!

Terrible service, 2^nd set of $ 1,000 Cartier glasses I have where they hinge has failed and this store manager Daniel refuses to replace them under warranty. He says I must take them back to the Las Vegas store and they tell me it will take one month to replace or repair them.

I am blown away by the care and attention I received at LensCrafters at Washington Square Mall today. You know, glasses are going to hang on your face, and it isn’t unreasonable to want glasses to enhance the way one looks. At the very least, glasses shouldn’t make me look uglier than I already am. ;) They actually understand that.
I was on a limited budget, only able to buy the cheapest lenses they had in stock, and in spite of that they took their time with me to make sure I would enjoy my glasses. This has been the best experience in buying glasses, and that is saying something.
If you need an optometrist, I recommend Dale Ogata, next door to this LensCrafters. They ran every test imaginable to detect eye diseases or potential future problems. They can check your eyeball without dilating your eyes, which means you don’t have to spend eight hours not being able to focus your eyes, or wear those huge glasses to protect yourself from light sensitivity.
I got everything I needed in spades… in about an hour.

I hadn’t bought glasses in over two years before going here. I went in and right off the bat the sales lady was super helpful. She let me know about the extras (anti glare, insurance, etc.) and wasn’t pushy, and let me roam around the store in peace to look for glasses. When I finally found the pair I wanted she told me to come back in about an hour and they would be done (at least I think it was an hour). After roaming the mall for a while I came back to purchase my glasses, and was offered discounted insurance. (The glasses were already pretty expensive and I just didn’t have an extra $ 25, and she cut it down to $ 10).
Overall, a nice experience. I’m glad I purchased my glasses from them. They’re super comfortable, they fit right, and they function correctly. I’ll be going back there next time I need glasses.

I really needed new glasses so I decided to try out the LensCrafters in Washington Square Mall — its very close and after browsing their website I saw a few styles I thought would work for me.
I was surprised to find all the styles I had seen online actually in the store!
The staff was super friendly and let me browse in peace without following me around or suggesting what would look best. (I might want those buddy holly specs without any saleslady telling me they are too masculine!)
After I made my choice, I realized I had left my prescription at home, they said it if was a Portland doctor they could call and it get it from them. (it was a WA dr, but how nice of them to offer!) They put my chosen frames on hold (until Saturday! it was a Wednesday)
I came back later that day and the woman was super sweet as she helped me decide on lenses ($ 185 for regular & $ 310 for no-​glare — talk about sticker shock). She also helped me to save money by letting me do the 20% off sale and giving me the step by steps to bill my insurance personally so I could save the most.
It only took two hours for the frames to be ready — unfortunately I had class so I came roaring back in at 8:55pm (they close at 9) and a different sales lady was super sweet helping me get the right adjustments and ignoring that it was a little past closing.
My glasses are adorable and the experience was great. Plus everybody kept complimenting how cute my new glasses were. I’m sure they do that to everyone but it made me feel good!
