Martin’s Auto Detailing

Just had it done yesterday and it was great — regardless of the weather. Not sure with what kind of attitude that people came in that wrote the bad reviews, but I was greeted by name, same happened when I came to pick up my car. I was walked through and was shown everything that they did, as well as given instruction on what to do, or not to do, further, because of the weather. I had a great experience, already recommended to friends at work.

Martin’s detail service caused $ 1100 damage to my vehicle and will not respond to any customer contact from me at all to discuss. Horrible service for deal through GroupOn

Interesting that there are only six reviews here on Unilocal,along with mine. Four are one star, and now two are five stars, and every one is at least a year old. The other reviews, which I didn’t read until after buying a Living Social voucher, made me think that I shouldn’t have purchased it. But after picking the car up, I am very pleased to say that they did a GREAT job. The car looks great, both inside and out.
When I dropped my car off, I expected some upselling, and don’t think of this is a bad thing with detailing, as some cars need more than others. Mine is a black Lexus SUV, and I knew ahead of time that there would be an extra charge ($ 60, I think) for that larger size. As for the upselling, Martin suggested buffing out the finish to get rid of some scratches, (which I think cost around $ 75, because my extra bill totaled $ 135), and that he would also include detailing of the engine, plus condition the leather seats. He was in no way pushy, and in fact went out of his way to let me know that whatever I chose was fine. I appreciated that.
When I got my car back I was very pleased. He spent about 10 minutes with me going over what he had done, and giving me suggestions about the best way to maintain the exterior finish, which I also appreciated. He really did a great job, both inside and out. And I paid with a credit card. The car is a 2002, and has some dents and scratches, so I didn’t expect magic on the exterior, but it looks a good as it possibly can. The interior, however, looks like a new car. They could not have done a better job with the interior.
I recommend them, and give their work a thumbs up. And if you have a $ 99 voucher and are not interested in paying extra to remove any scratches, I consider that a real bargain. If I find another voucher, I’ll bring in my four door sedan (1999 Lexus ES300) for a detail. It doesn’t need buffing to remove any scratches and is a regular 4-​door, so there will only be an extra charge if I have him wax the seats.
If you do have them detail you car, be sure to write a review. Six reviews is not enough, particularly when four are one star and two are five stars.

My husband bought a groupon for an auto detail and ding removal.
Here’s my experience. He first tried to up-​sell me. He told me that buffing my car would be an extra $ 170 ??? Who charges that much to buff a car?
My car was not clean when I got it back. He didn’t wipe the wheels down and the inside of the windshield had not been cleaned, the mirrors were dirty. After I picked up my car it rained and when my car dried there were wax spots all over my car. It was on the rubber pieces and no matter how much I scrub to get it off I now have permanent white markings on my car.
I noticed that the airbag malfunction light was on in my car. He explained that the cleaner got inside and when it dried out it would be fine… WELL It never did go off and I now need to pay to have my airbag fixed because it is now damaged. I contacted him and he was of NO HELP. He denied that they had damaged it.
He did not do a good job on the ding removal. Poor job. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They do poor quality work and will not stand behind damage they cause.

I am actually appalled to see the advertisement for Martin’s Auto Detailing back on Groupon, as I would have assumed Groupon would want to represent quality companies that excel in excellent customer service.
Last year I bought a coupon for Martin’s Auto Detailing and found his auto detailing to be a scam and I almost filed a stolen vehicle report as he kept my car overnight and would not answer my phone calls until the morning. He was then an hour and a half late to meet me at this shop and my car wasn’t even ready. He was completely unprofessional, unapologetic, and rude.
I would hope Groupon takes an interest in what kind of companies they represent, as experiences like that make me a bit hesitant in purchasing future Groupons.

Well… I don’t know what we expected given all the crappy reviews.
We purchase a Groupon $ 95. When we picked up our car after he kept it an extra 12 hours, the car was still soaked. There was black, filthy, cleaning solution puddled in the console and glove box. The window wells were full of cleaning solution so when we rolled our windows down they got covered with greasy, chemical residue. The headliner was full of dead bugs that must have flown in over night. Also, it smells awful… like sour baby oil.
On the drive home I found out our radio was broken too.
Also, Groupon misrepresented the Unilocal score of this business. The ad said he had ⁴⁄₅ stars which is obviously BS. We would not recommend this guy. We will not go back. I will tell my wife NO next time she asks me about a Groupon.

FYI…after we complained about this to Groupon, they gave us a full refund and said they were going to review the company. So… if you used a Groupon and had trouble… they will fix it. Yay for Groupon.

This says it all. A couple who was about to drop their car off looked at our finished car and changed their mind and left. A glorified car wash. The door frame was had grime I could wipe off with my finger and the windows were left wide open when we got there and it had rained. Customer service — none. The owner is a fast talking hard to understand foreigner who had an Asp and a Taser clipped to his belt. Yikes! why would he need these?!

Attitude– cocky liar– this guy– he is known in tHe Detail business as ripping off people,

FIRST HE WAS LATE 30 MINUTES TO OPEN SHOP AND WE AND OTHERS HAVE TO WAIT for him to slowly drive up and open the gate in the back of a dirty shop area.
Then a lady waiting there for her car with her teenage daughter asked for where her car was. There the sweet teenager’s car sat with all the windows down over night and all the car seats rained on and when the mother opened the door — there was firthy dirty floors and side panels that were not cleaned and the dash and interior was still dirty. The quiet shy daughter started to cry – because it was her first car and Martin ruined it — leaving it outside and not cleaning it correctly. Martin said «Oh I left the windows open overnight because I needed to let the inside dry.» LEAVE THE WINDOWS OPEN TO LET THE INTERIOR DRY!!!” The shy teenager asked – what did you clean? IT looks ike you didn’t touch it!” Martin then did a «song and dance act» about «Yes mam – we did clean it — but you had a groupon and we only do a small bit of work for the Groupon-​» and so on and so one. The girl had paid $ 95.00 for an Groupon «250.00 value” – WHAT A LIAR AND A THieF– IF YOU ARE STUPID — GO HERE!!!

The owner is the biggest scam artist I’ve ever met & I will NEVER return! Granted, I did use a $ 95 amazon local deal because a detail is expensive. I expected a small charge for the suv & pet hair, but $ 80 is absolutely ridiculous. Then I had to listen to him try to sell me a whole bunch of other s%@t I don’t need & try to convince me he was giving me a bargain. If I wanted to spent several hundred dollars on my car, I’d go to a nice place… not there. I felt like I was at a used car lot being sweet talked by somebody’s creepy uncle Carl. I only gave 2 stars because the guy who actually did the detail was nice & did a decent job. DON’T BUY A GROUPON/​AMAZON DEAL, IT’S NOT WORTH IT!!!

Absolutely horrible! I bought a detail as a present for my husbands birthday and they did a terrible job on his car. The local car was does a much better job for $ 20. They didn’t complete the items listed on the package that I purchased and the workers left cigarette ash inside the car! When my husband brought this to the owners attention he flew into a rage and began screaming and cursing. Save your money and head to Kiss Car Wash, much better service and your car will look better too!

I had a pretty good experience at Martin’s. The car was clean, they got out all the mold from being stored in the garage, took out scratches… it looked great. I used a LivingSocial and he was fine about that~ no bad attitude. I will say that he did upsell me a bit (and of course the mold was extra). The only thing I felt weird about was that he seemed kind of «flexible» about his prices. I definitely got the feeling that he quoted different people different amounts, especially when I came to pick it up and he asked me how much he had said it would be. Also, the mats for the back are missing. I left a message and received no answer.

Don’t do it. Look at his Better Business rating/​history to confirm my opinion. He told me he’d be done around 8pm. I’m now convinced this is so he can deliver the car in the dark. Also when you pick up the car he’ll say his credit card machine is broke and will demand cash — look thru the various reviews on this site and others and you’ll see a similar pattern. You’ll get the same «detail» if you simply go thru a regular car full service car wash.

I have no idea how good a job these people do on detailing my car. What I do know is I paid $ 99 for a car detailing package from Living Social and now Martin’s is telling me I owe them another $ 70 for detailing my SUV. Last week they quoted me an extra $ 50. This means I will be paying $ 170 for a car detailing which is high retail for the job. Then they only use liquid wax, not paste.
Don’t get fooled!!! Read the fine print and Living Social won’t even consider a refund unless you ask almost immediately on booking the deal.
Shame on Living Social and Martin’s for ripping off consumers.

NIGHTMARE BEWARE!!! I just saw this scam artist has posted again on Living Social. I can’t even believe he is still in business. Not only did they break my 6 CD changer and kill my Jeeps battery by their «special engine detailing» they also FORGOT to give me my car mats back and stole a bag of newly bought spa items from my car. I have taken Martin to court and WON! He still owes me about $ 1700 which I am in the process of suing for. They also have an F Rating on the BBB. And multiple bad ratings. The so called good rating are BS. I dont believe a single one. DO NOT USE THIS DETAILER!!!

I had a voucher for an interior/​exterior detail. I paid extra for a couple of things, but it was worth every penny.
My 14 yr old car looks like it was just rolled off the showroom floor.

I used a Living Social coupon. I called to check him out at 8am, and he picked up and patiently addressed all my questions. I didn’t make an appointment at that time, but did an little research and decided to get the coupon and go for it. I called back but no answer, and I didn’t leave a message. He called back a few minutes later, apparently when he noticed I called! Made an appointment with no fuss. So that part was excellent.
Dropped off my car at 9am with a 5:30 pickup; not what he wanted, but he flexed. He went over the car in detail with me, showing what was included (quite a bit), what was not, and let me choose what to add and what not to. I added $ 60 to do the engine and the hatch. That part was excellent.
Picked up the car at 5:50, and it was ready. He had called me earlier that it was ready, but I missed the call. He went over the car in detail again, showing what they had done, with great pride. The inside and outside were transformed, very thoroughly. He did everything he said he would and well. That part was excellent.
The only thing that could be improved was after I took the car. The interior had been thoroughly washed, but was still quite damp (my seats are fabric). He told me about this, and put the mats (also throughly washed but damp) in the trunk, and gave me a paper mat to protect the carpet on the driver’s side. It took about 24 hours to dry the interior. This was a temporary inconvenience and I was still left with a clean car, so I would still highly recommend him, but I would encourage him to find a way to dry out the interior after cleaning.
The interior cleaning left a scent; some seem to like that. I don’t hate it, but to me it doesn’t smell clean or new, just scented, which I could do without.
In summary, I felt I got great customer service, and a good job for a good price.

Had Martin cared about his service, I would not be writing this. You normally get reviews that are pretty accurate on Unilocal’s site, so I hope this review makes a least one person think. before acting. Auto detailing should be auto detailing. One should be somewhat satisfied after shelling out hard earned dollars for a «Full Service» detail. My husband and I were not!
We are all busy so I will give you the bottom line and then if you want to read the back ground, you can.
Bottom line: I would not recommend or use this company EVER! This detail was done on a black SUV for $ 150 with no coupons.
1. once you pull out of his place, which is dirty to begin with, you are on you own. He won’t redo, go over or even acknowledge that his level of workmanship is/​was below par. 2, Windows, front, side and rear lift window, were streaked 3. Sunroof streaked, 4. Wax mark residue on back, side and top of car that were not fully removed or polished. Must have done this really fast. So how much detail did he put into this? 5. Gasket detail was not done in rear of car, something that he prides himself on. HA! 6. Would not give me a receipt. Said his book was filled and he had no others. Really? 7. Indicates charge cards are accepted but then gives you a BS story that machine is broke, I know for a fact 2 weeks earlier he did the same thing, I guess he doesn’t want to pay his 2−3% to the bank who issues cards. 8. When we left off the car, he said he would fix scratches at no charge but I had to provide the paint, I went and bought paint next morning, traveled 25 minutes and when I got there, he wanted me to pay an extra $ 100. I passed. 9. when we picked up car he had to re-​dust everything because the place is filthy, 10. There are basic amounts he charges but he can’t remember what he quotes and he will quote different things. When I got there he tried to charge me $ 170 but I reminded him that he quoted me less after seeing the car 2 weeks earlier. 11. when I got home we called immediately to tell him we were unhappy. Left message to please call back. It is now 2 days without a return call. Hence, this review.
This is the first time I have ever written a negative review. Please think twice.
The old adage of «Buyer Beware» fits. Also, look at all the RECENT «1-​Star» reviews. Must tell you something.

I got a living social for a full interior and exterior detail. Martin was great. It was a little bit hard to get a hold of him to make an appointment, but I finally did and he was very nice.
He did an excellent job on my car. Be aware he does charge $ 40 if you have animal hair in your car… I understand, because dog hair is really hard to get out of the car. There was not a speck of dog hair left, and I have two dogs! I am now thinking about never letting them in my car again… haha! ;)
Anyway, Martin threw in some extra services for free, so it made up for the extra charge. Honestly, he’s a great guy who has a good business.
My car looks brand new again, it’s amazing!

I had a fairly terrible experience at Martins. Sure he did a pretty good job of detailing the car, but he needs to work on his customer service.
I bought a amazon local deal for $ 99.00 which said a complete 4 – 6 hour in and out deal. So when I got there, he said it was going to be an additional $ 70. He pointed out all of the things he was going to do, was the chassis, get some scratches out, etc. Any way, I do have a larger car (nissan xterra) and it was on the dirty side of a long winter, so I finally agreed to the extra $ 70. Which mind you, is 70-​% MORE than the amazon deal.
So I really was expecting to be blown away.
He called me about 6 hours later, and I came by. Now I will tell you the inside looked great. brand new. He got the stains out, he did a great job, and I am sure he worked his ass off. The outside was another story. The car was clean, however there were still scratches! I asked him about the scratches, and he said I can get them out for another $ 100!!! I declined, deciding that I had enough upselling.
But here’s the BIG problem.
After I picked up my car, the next day I noticed that some things were missing. When I called Martin about it, he acted unprofessionally, and then he cussed me out.
I would not recommend this business. #1 He will overcharge you, and #2, if you disagree with him he will verbally abuse you.
