I have been coming to Muvico for about a year and it is a pretty good theatre. They usually have about 5 movies showing multiple times during the day and they also have reserved seating at ticket purchase. The seats are comfortable, sound system is nice and the bathroom is clean.
If you are looking for a bargain, you should go to the daily showing between 4 pm to 5:30 pm, as the ticket prices are only $ 5.75. They also have premier seating upstairs with more cushioned seas and leg room. However, I didn’t think the seats alone justify the much higher prices.
For more bargain, sign up for a loyalty card. They have free popcorn and soda after multiple visits.
A nice place for movies!

I went here during the day on Tuesday and I’ve been going to this theater over the last couple years and every time been solid all around! This review is just for my last visit. During the day is interesting. There was just a couple of other people there, but no real lines or anything. Everyone was just walked up to the concession stand to buy tickets. Large popcorn and soda for $ 9. The theaters and screens themselves are really big and beautiful. Sometimes it gets to crowded, but what do you expect!

Overall good theater, concessions are a little overpriced (what theater isnt), just wish they would update their seats to recliners especially in the premier section. Overall, good quality for an okay price.

Are you serious Muvico? Last night we paid Cineopolis prices to sit in broken chairs while feeling as though we were falling forward the entire evening, and endured the disruptive cackle of a broken speaker or two. Furthermore the entire esthetic is outdated and the place looks dirty and littered. At least in a dive theatre like Laemelle you pay less and know that the rundown vibe is an inherent part of the Indie experience. Really? And this is under the new management of a Mr. Carmike? Meh.

Definitely gets pricey to watch a premium seating movie for 19 $ but at least you get a free popcorn. I do love the fact you can bring any food in, and you won’t get a stare down or any conspicuous questions asked. I regularly bring in food from upstairs and unfortunately the food is very very average but at least I get to eat dinner while watching a movie. The prices are around 12 $ for an evening flick and $ 6 on early birds. The customer service is always great and you can alway get a nice bucket of popcorn and some candy, Coke is always fizzy and cold $ 5.50 for a medium. PizzaRev and some other stores will be opening up next to the theatres in Summer 2016 in the meantime Johnny Rockets, a froyo place and your typical mall restaurants (Cheesecake Factory) are nearby. B

I rarely write reviews and don’t usually write negative ones. However, Muvico doesn’t remotely live up to the prices it charges. For $ 20 a ticket, I’ll go to Cineopolis every time. Muvico bargain matinée price is great but that’s down with other local «non high end» theatres like Janss Mall or Agoura.
THE GOOD: Seats are comfy and popcorn is fine. I like reserved seating at movies.
THE BAD: Big yellow splotch on right side of auditorium 10 screen during showings of Joy. When I complained to the manager afterward (New Years Day around 4:00pm) he said he would «bring it up at next week’s management meeting.» Are you kidding me. He should have said he would get in there that night and clean it and he should have offered something for a ruined movie experience.
THE BAD: ½ the time I go there the Men’s room is filthy and devoid of paper towels. Nice to know employees are not washing heir hands properly. Again, after being told, rather than get off his butt, the manager said he would bring it up at next week’s meeting. I suggested he go himself and service it and he looked at me like I was speaking greek and went back to laughing and talking with a fellow employee. This manager simply should be fired.
I’m happy to discuss this with their real management. The 10 year old (alright, maybe not that young…) who claimed to be manager was worthless. I’ll probably go back in a few months when I’ve forgotten it isn’t worth it. Maybe they’ll hire managers who care… maybe not. In the meantime, Janss and Cineopolis have my money.

Went for the first time last month and was eager to be wowed. When you first walk in, the concessions stand is huge and nice with wide selection (though I really want my Mike n Ike and Hot Tamales, which they don’t carry). Like also that they have popcorn buckets as not enough movie theaters these days have buckets anymore, just flimsy paper bags it’s hard to get your paws into.
Went to the restroom and it was ok, but not super clean. Walking into the theater, it was huge and spacious, and I loved the old school red. However, was disappointed that the seats were worn and dirty cloth when so many theaters have upgraded to pleather by now. Also wasn’t very clean – popcorn on the floor and etc. Picture and movie were fine but it’s not a theater I’d go back to unless I wanted to try their VIP section. Cinepolis seems much better run, though Muvico has way better (and hotter) popcorn.

I visited for the first time and I have to say WOW! I was seated in the Premier area that is 21 and over. It was an amazing experience. The only thing that was somewhat weird was they have these cheaper plastic bags to share popcorn. Isn’t it more cost effective to have a cardboard tray? Any ways had the best martini ever at this theater.

Here’s a national chain that gets it.
Huge comfy seats, loads of reserved seating.
Big big screens with quality 4K DLP, Dolby Atmos, and all the fixin’s.
The upper balcony is great for 21+ to drink booze though you’re still in a theater with kids potentially, albeit above them, it can be annoying depending on the film. Compared to exclusive 21+ showings.
The art on display is always cool, and I’d buy all of it if I had gobs of cash.
The concession stands are on point with huge flat screen TV menus, pizza, fries, chicken strips, pretzels, and a ton of other choices besides annoying, loud, popcorn :)
The staff are friendly despite the fact this place get stupid crowded/​busy.
I like the fact they have over a dozen screens so it’s easy to find showtimes.
But really for me, this place wins for amazing amazing picture quality and literally state of the art sound systems.

The theater is very nice, comfortable, and great for a girls night out. At first I want sure how I would like the assigned seating, but it worked out really well. It was nice not having to hunt down enough seats for our group in the dark, because of course we arrived a little late. Also, we were able to catch our movie during the bargain priced movie, and these days 5.75 for a movie is incredible. The movie was cute, but the best part was the company and comfort of the theater. The chairs were great, and arm rests lift up. Great theater, great night. Boom!

This is a fairly nice theatre with food service if you get the premium seats upstairs (ages 21+bar and restaurant). The prices are a bit ridiculous however. This is a high traffic theatre due to the Thousand Oaks Mall being attached to it. You can reserve your tickets ands seats online or you can choose your seats on the interactive screen at the lobby. The seats are alright but not the greatest… they are comfy but you can definitely tell that it’s getting worn out. If you don’t want to spend money on the food here there’s lots of other restaurants in the area like Lazy Dog Café, Olive Garden, or Red Robin.

Muvico is a nice well appointed theater at the Oaks mall… It’s almost like two theaters in one. Plenty of first run movies and a wealth of options.
The downstairs theaters and associated snack area is just ok called reserved seating pick your seat on a touch screen and meander to your seat. Nothing special or noteworthy on any level.
On the other hand the Première seating theaters upstairs are plush, welcoming spotless, with a full restaurant and bar Bogies at your beck and call along with a dedicated theater snack coordinator to handle your sugar and popcorn fantasies. Mind you all this comes at a price but oh baby it’s blissful movie nirvana in Thousand Oaks inside the première arena… Your date will adore and worship you and your wife will forgive you for all those transgression’s and think your all that and a bag of chips afterall…
There in lies the rub. The reserved theaters are just ok but pricey. The première theaters are decadent and very pricey but soooo worth it and you truly feel spoiled. Truly a movie going experience for the haves and have not’s.

Pretty cool place. We came here to see Ant Man (which is a great movie.) You get to pick your actual seat using an interactive screen and in the lobby there’s cool movie memorabilia. Cozy seat as well. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely come back.

Muvico has a good atmosphere. It is a nice theater with the DBox action seats available for premier showings. However, since this is a highly trafficked theater that’s been around maybe 7 years, the seats are already showing signs of wear. They could use some refurbishment.
The staff is friendly and I have encountered no projection problems. Is definitely the best non-​premium theater in the area.

We give it a D rating for its inefficiency, and poor training of its otherwise eager to please staff, despite the comfort and technically great aspects of this theatre, the good experience was way wiped out by the incompetent bad. If it were not for Unilocal I would ignore this place completely, and never come back. Through basic Website flaws and glitches, they have wasted so much of my time and energy tonite trying to enroll in their stupidly impossible Rewards system, that I hate them now as much as I liked their big screens and great sound. Too bad they spoil it with utter incompetence. This is hardly a Rewards Program; it’s more like a punishment!
Don’t try emailing this Thousand Oaks Muvico Theatre to let them know, nor its parent HQ Carmike Cinemas, either. They do not provide email anywhere I could find. This is the 21^st Century, isn’t it ?
But under their CONTACT button on the website, no email. Not for the Muvico nor for Carmike.
And just try to reach these people by phone: I dare you ! The number listed for them on Google rings but does not answer.805−496−5487. I let it ring 50 times. The number listed for them on Flixster is not a working number either 805−494−4702. A third number which I think I found on Unilocal,805−409−2197, likewise does not answer. Rings forever, and that’s all.
And all this for enrolling in their stupid Rewards/​Punishment club and being told at the Muvico Theatre that my card — that I signed up for, which I got on my last trip to Muvico –wasn’t registered, and so I needed to go home to my computer and register first before they could give me the points I earned for my $ 25 tonite. No, they couldn’t do anything there; but if I take my ticket stubs and enter them in their Website system once I get myself registered, all will be well.
Only problem is when I go to Register on my home computer tonite, their system tells me my Log In was already assigned to someone, and my card number that they gave me, also is already taken. Yes, thank you. BY ME !!!
Why do I get this message when using my «Rewards Card» number on their Website, but at the Theatre they cannot find me in their system??? So how do I resolve this stupid system failure of theirs — oh, no problem, just «Contact Us ».

How high maintenance are some of you people?
It’s an upscale movie theatre with everything you could possibly want, you entitled slobs.
You get to preselect your own seats, you have spacious isle ways, it’s always clean, you get comfortable chairs and great film/​sound quality.
Yes, the ticket prices always seem a bit steep as well as the food/​beverages but it’s pretty similar to any other movie theatre… so that’s nothing new.
It’s in a great location, there’s usually ample parking, and it’s surrounded by a mall full of shops and restaurants to go to before/​after your movie begins/​ends.

I’m not too impressed with the general seating of this place. For $ 11.95 it’s not worth it. The seats are plain but do rock. There is plenty of room in between seats as well as leg room but for $ 9 you can get full recline seating at the theatre in Fallbrook. The screen is larger than most theatre. It’s a nice and clean theatre overall but not worth the price.
I will come back for the VIP seating to check it out.

Planned a movie night with my family, and with four of us going to a newer movie on a Saturday night, we definitely wanted to have reserved seats. I hate getting to movies 45 minutes early to be able to sit together. So… I researched prices at all the theatres nearby that offer reserved seating and was delighted to discover that this one is actually cheaper than some of the other ones, especially because parking at some of the other ones is a much bigger hassle than it is here.
Anyhow, I was pleased with the experience overall. The online checkout was relatively easy. The $ 5 convenience fee to buy online through Fandango totally sucks, but what can you do, I wasn’t going to drive out early just to buy tickets there (although if you can plan that way, I recommend it).
The snack bar is the typical overpriced fair, but the large popcorn includes free refills, and the customer service guy was so cool he even actually let us dump some into sacks for our kids and refilled it at the get-​go so that we wouldn’t have to come back. That was nice. They also didn’t make a big deal when we asked for ice and water in our personal cups that we brought in. This makes them A-​Ok in my book!
The seats do not recline like the ones at some of the new theatres, and they aren’t big cushy premium seats, but honestly, for regular movie theatre seats, they are some of the more comfortable ones I have experienced.
Screen quality was good, and the theatre was clean. I also appreciate that this mall tends to attract polite patrons, so overall it was a good experience.

Muvico is a great theater! I usually only go there for one reason and that’s to sit in the D Box seats (interactive seats that move with the movie). The prices are pretty high for a theater but you pay for what you get.
Parking: Can get pretty bad since it’s attached to a mall. The valet can be a little outrageous $ 8 but it is right there in front of the theater.
Service: Great customer service from all associates and management
Facility. They keep everything very very clean. They also have memorabilia from movies and comics throughout the facility which is cool.
Defiantly go watch any action movie in those D Box i promise it’ll change the way you watch movies forever.
