CRC Performance Transmissions

Well I would hate to screw up Bill’s five star rating, but being that he rebuild my transmission, transfer case and replaced the clutch + slave cylinder the truck would grind when shifted into 2^nd gear. When I put the truck into 4 wheel drive, it would blow the turn signal fuse out because it was wired wrong, and I told him it was apparently leaking and he did nothing, told me that it would get better with time. I took my truck to Shelley’s Automotive down the street and for a diagnosis fee, after I told them exactly what was wrong, (a review for another day) they put the reverse light wires on to the reverse switch instead of the 4 wheel drive switch. And amazingly I haven’t had a problem with blown fuses since. It only cost me 40 bucks to fix what he wanted to tell me wasn’t his fault. Now the oil leak and the hard shifting turned out to be that he never tightened the bolts for my shifter. After I had a $ 270 tow bill, I took it apart and fixed it myself. Not even a gasket. This chump just used gasket sealant. A $ 1700 (good guy price) transmission rebuild that he said he personally rebuilt is just a noisy piece of junk. Im certain that it still has the original bearings. I’d try Champion down the street. Bill can lick my b***‘s. I gave him more than enough chance to fix this.

Took my Jeep CRC because my 3 – 4 gear was sticking per engine light code, they told me it was a valve body so they replaced it for $ 900. After getting it back 2 days later i had the same issue I was having before. They just told me to shut off the engine to reset the computer in the tranny. It ran fine for a couple of days then the issue came back, I had to do this 4 times so far. Engine light came back today I took it to Leon’s transmission they said no way its the valve-​body since the engine light code read issues w/​4^th gear in the tranny! so it wasn’t the valve-​body so I went back to CRC long story short, they were not willing to give me my money back or partial and the shop guy who works on the tranny said I told him i took it to another transmission shop and I told him it was the valve body… Funny thing i never took it to another tranny place BEFORE i took it to CRC, at that point i knew they were full of it so I left and now taking my car who knows how to diagnosis the issue which is now Leon’s.

I’ve been coming to Craig and CRC for over 15 years! Amazing work and as honest as you will ever see in the transmission industry. He did a full conversion from an automatic turbo 350 to a manual 5 speed tremec Tko in my 1965 Malibu SS. The car shifts and drives like a dream. I recommend anybody that wants a job done right and know that it will get done right to go to there shop! Top notch!

I can’t recommend CRC more highly. Brought my Mustang in for a throwout bearing replacement and clutch job. Craig quoted me a price that was more than reasonable and got to work immediately. I figured I’d be without my car for at least a week. Much to my delight, he called me two days later with the car complete. When I came in to pick up the car, the bill was significantly lower than the price of the estimate. WOW! When does that ever happen? Anyway, the job was done very well and car is driving better than when I bought it 5 years ago. I’m recommending CRC to anyone who needs work done. Top notch! Thanks Craig!

Delighful and funny is not how I would normally describe mechanic guys but aside from being that these guys are really terrific.
Our 11 year old truck was having some overdrive difficulties and we were fearing the worst with the transmission… I took it to one place and they were great wont mention who but gave us a quote between $ 750-​$ 2800 the $ 750 was just to drop the pan and take a look and that price would go toward to total fix of the trannie. They thought it would be at least a soft rebuild of the trannie… my 4^th gear was non existent… ouch!
I decided to get a second opinion and had a referral from a neighbor too. Took the truck to CRC and Craig had his guy drive it and said its likely the snap ring (which is what I was hoping after trying to diagnose the problem myself) but said they would call me if it looked like there were any other shenanigans going on in there after they dropped the pan. He quoted me a much fairer price and I went for it… left them the car for the day. I was sweating bullets and then I checked in and they were just finishing up said the truck would be ready about 3:30 I drove out of there having the problem fixed and not being taken advantage of. Amazing!!!
Good guys and my #1 go to for trannie issues. I will recommend these guys to everyone who needs it.

Craig is one of the best. Brought my car in on Monday before July 4^th and on July 3^rd he had it done. I was grateful for the quick service seeing it was a week before the 4^th. Craig gave sound advice to fix it or not. We had a car payment already and could not absorb another one so fix the problem to have car last another two years was our answer. Hopefully we don’t have any more transmission problems but if we do I will always bring it here. Thanks for the great work guys.

Good, old fashioned, honest service.
Some kind of rodent chewed through my wires and left me one gear. I got advice from three places: one tried to sell me a new transmission, one wanted to charge me for an estimate and CRC provided me with a reasonable estimate to make the repair.
So…
Just what you hope for: 1. Reasonable estimate to repair problem 2. They do the repair and charge what they quoted. 3. Car works great. 4. Everybody is happy!
If I need more work, this is where I will go.

This tranny shop was recommended by a local mechanic so I took my Dodge there fearing the worst. They dropped the pan, changed the fluid and all has been well for a couple years now. They didn’t over charge and appeared honest and knowledgeable.

Small shop. Very trustworthy is the feel I got from the place. Didn’t try to sell me anything extra, just tried to help me with my transmission problem and do it right. They gave me some options after they did some extra research on my quirky transmission problem. They didn’t pressure me to buy this or that. They gave me the time to decide what I wanted to do with my car. There are some good guys at this shop. I’d recommend them.

CRC is a pleasure to do business with. I grew up in the auto business and they are honest, fast and reliable. Everything you would want in a repair shop.

Let my preface this by saying that I haven’t actually used CRC’s services directly; to put it simply they haven’t worked on any of my cars, period. That said I just wanted to take a moment to thank Craig for sharing his Sage wisdom with me. I have a beater that’s on its last legs and it’s acting up, another shop suggested I speak to transmission guru Craig over at CRC and he was happy enough to spend the better part of 15 minutes giving me tips and some things I might try to eek out a little more life from this dying machine. He didn’t make any money off of me, in fact he lost money by letting me tie him up on the phone. That said if I ever get to the point I’m in over my head and can’t fix something on a car I’m willing to drop that kinda coin on I know what number I’m calling…

Brought my car into Craig — he gave me the straight scoop — clearly the man is a Transmission Whisperer — and smart and honest — didn’t try to sell me on anything, and taught me all about what’s going on, advising me it didn’t make economic sense to fix the tranny (the car has 135,000 miles on it, and other issues that he also taught me about)… and how to get another year of safe driving out of it – all for no charge… I will always bring my vehicle into him from here on out for transmission service.

Craig is a transmission guru.
Years back I had a problem with my Pathfinder, I took it to Paul’s transmission and those scoundrels said it was toast and I would have to replace it, for $ 2700. I called Craig looking for a second opinion, he figured out over the phone that the filter was clogged, I checked it, he was right. I changed it and saved $ 2700.
I had it serviced by EZ Lube twice, both times they swore they changed the filter, they didn’t and it almost destroyed it. I’ll NEVER go back to those crooks again for anything.
From that day on Craig was my transmission man, I take all my vehicles to him and tell all my friends to do the same.

These guys are great, I trust them with all of my vehicles. Craig, the owner is trustworthy and knows his sh*t!

These guys know what they doing. Quality work at reasonable prices. They quickly found my transmission problem, but also pointed out a couple other unkown problems that would have been serious long term. Honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Steve rebuilt the tranny in my 95 Impala SS and overall was a great experience. Although pricey for a bench rebuild, I feel comfortable recommending them as experts at domestic transmissions. I even came in one time when I was having a problem with my clutch in my nissan — he adjusted it for free and showed me how to do it. Standup guy and someone I would do business with again in a heartbeat
