Art Taxi Cab Service

Since Über and Lyft do not take reservations in advance, I do not feel secure in using them for an 8am procedure at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood Village coming in all the way from T.O. I looked at reviews on Unilocal and found many positives for Art Taxi. I called and had a very pleasant conversation with the gentleman who answered the phone. He said I can make the reservation as far in advance as makes me comfortable and assured me that we would work the cost out, giving me the ballpark I can expect. In a couple of weeks, after using Art Taxi, I will be able to more fully review my experience at this site. The friendliness factor and knowing that it’ll all be set up before the morning of the procedure has given me peace of mind.

Great alternative to über and lift, usually I have to wait longer if I use the bigger company’s on a Friday-​Saturday night, especially on a holiday. I’ve only used the service a couple times but pricing and timing exceeded my expectations so I was happy.

I took an Über to my destination and it was about 5 bucks cheaper but Chuck took a shorter route than the Über driver which was appreciated. I’d recommend it. Not too long of a wait either.

I booked ART Taxi on Sunday June 14 to do a drop off and pick up from Westlake Village to the Saddle Peak lodge. Our driver was Chuck. He was fantastic, on time, patient when our dinner ran late and all in all professional and top notch. His vehicle was also very clean. The manager who booked my reservation was courteous and professional. I highly recommend this company.

I called Art’s taxi service for a handicapped gentleman who needed a ride. Not only did (Chuck) the driver go out of his way to help me load up the gentleman he then refused to take any money from me. It was really nice see a company put humanity first instead of money. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I called Art Taxi because I needed a ride to a medical procedure early in the a.m. and didn’t want to inconvenience a friend. I scheduled two days out. Now, the guy on the phone wasn’t the warmest or most prepared, but they charge very reasonable rates, were on time, and the driver was very personable. I think her name was Lauren.
The car was clean and the driver very considerate. She was also very appreciative of the tip I gave her.
I highly recommend them and will use them again if/​when needed. Way better than other cab companies I have used.

THANK YOU ZAK!!! Please, if you are in Thousand Oaks you must call art taxi. I was here with friends and looking for a fun bar, we had an amazing time thanks to our cab driver ZAK!!! We can not wait to come back and see ZAK.

Yesterday i drove home from Vegas in a rental car (long story). The rental place was closed when i arrived so there was no shuttle from there to my house, which was 6 miles away. I walked about 2 and a half miles with my luggage and it was hot, so i decided to call a cab. I walked over to the best western to make it easier to find me. I’ve never had to call a cab in thousand oaks so i looked it up on my phone and picked one at random.
The dispatcher was nice, knew where i was and told me it would be a 15 – 17 minute wait. The wait time stood out to me because it was so specific. No joke, 16 minutes later a cab pulls up to the hotel. I walk over and say «are you here for nick?» because i didn’t want to take someone else’s cab. The driver says «yes, get in» so i got in. That’s about as much background check i thought i needed to determine that the cab was there for me.
About 3 minutes into the cab ride, i get a text that says the cab is out front for me. I texted back explaining that i was already in a cab and i must have gotten in the wrong cab and that i was sorry. He texts back «that’s not good» and «i drove all the way from dos vientos.» I understood his frustration, but the other cab driver lied to get the fare, so what could i do — thought it was a little weird, but i let it slide.
As i’m arriving to my house, paying the wrong cab driver, getting my luggage, walking into my house and being greeted by my wife and our 200 pounds of dogs, my phone is ringing, over and over again. After i finally got settled down, i took the call — it was the dispatcher, asking for an explanation as to why i didn’t take his cab. I explained the story to him, and he then accused me of calling two cab companies and taking whichever one got there first. I insisted that wasn’t the case, and he said «ok» and hung up.
It occurred to me a few minutes later that this was such a weird way to be treated. I didn’t call for a cab and change my mind, i didn’t call for a cab and then take the next cab i saw knowing it wasn’t for me. A cab showed up in the time frame i was expecting, and the driver said the cab was for me.
I travel a lot for business, i’ve taken taxi and car services in probably 2 dozen cities, and i’ve never felt compelled to write a negative review about one. I honestly felt bad for what happened, but i really don’t think it’s good practice to treat your customers the way i was treated yesterday.

Big fan of Art’s taxi. Extremely friendly service and always a clean car. It’s really hard trying to get around town without a car and Art’s has been a saving grace. Very on time and waiting times are never too over the top. I am never disappointed when I use their service. Give them a try for sure!
