Tapas are small plates that traditionally offer a dense variety of experiences and flavor profiles. Of the seven plates my group ordered, the variety was minimal, and mostly of items I felt that could compose on my own at home. Where seven plates of appetizers will fill a group of people to the brim, Tapas offer less portions and make up for size in the variety of flavor. You eat Tapas because you’re a foodie, not because you’re looking for a value meal. Overall I did not find the experience I was looking for, instead I found appetizers and beer at a gourmet price.

Went to try the German food last night, limited menu. I had the pork snitzel with red cabbage. Snitzel was tough as though over cooked, red cabbage was good, Spaetzel was not hot and we had to ask for more gravy. Servers seem to have trouble finding tables when coming out with the food. They Definately need to step up their game.

This restaurant has been converted from a Tapas restaurant to a German restaurant under new management. Unfortunately, the new service and food were both quite bad. I had a crêpe which took nearly an hour to come out(though she brought everyone else’s food in my party earlier) and when it came it was burnt and flavorless. The fruit tasted frozen. The server complained about how heavy the drinks tray was, how she had to do everything herself, and pretty much everything else possible. It was an all-around unpleasant experience.

Under new management for Spanish & German Food! Taste like it comes from Sam’s Club or BJ’s Wholesale. Nothang yet to confirm authentic I could do a better job @ home myself. Maybe future changes can make this place happen⁉ Otherwise, don’t waste yur time. Rude service also‼ No apologies, that I feel needs improvement before going back.

Watch your bar tab, they like to add two xtra drinks to the list. happened to my wife and I twice, I had 3 drinks, my wife had two, We cashed out bill was for 7 drinks, they would not even think about making it right. this is how they stay in business, screwing patrons, NEVERAGAIN. Want a good deal leave the villages.

Poor service and poorly prepared food with little value for money. We had the sampler appetizer, some croquettes and other unmemorable things that made me feel like we were being ripped off for the price. We were sat outside by the hostess but ignored by the waitress for several minutes. They brew their own beer, which is not bad — but it is on the bland side. All the different types tasted fairly similar. Better than Coors, Michelob or Bud, but definitely not on par with other craft beers. Overall, there are several other better restaurants in The Villages.

Las Tapas is like the moon… no atmosphere! We were there at 7pm last night … Every light was on and dim isn’t in the managers vocabulary. The first table along the bar we sat at was wobbly so we moved to the next one… it was too. The third one wasn’t the charm but at least our drinks didn’t slide off. The focus seems to be on a German beer theme but this collides with a tapas menu which is more suited for wine paring… and there isn’t a wine list to pair anything with! The bread service is good(but please add a butter/egg wash on the rolls before baking to give them a crust and color) and it comes with a pesto that is excellent. The band(Time Machine) is very talented and has an enjoyable play list. The management would do well to turn the area the band was in into a full fledged stage … and close the curtains on the brewery tanks!

Very creative menu. Something for everyone. Service is excellent. Menu is quite varied. Great prices. Excellent choice for an evening with live music while dining next to the Brownwood Square.

Is there a zero star option? The white sangria was the worst I ever had… water with fruit… possibly a spalsh of wine… same color as water so who knows.. Could have done without the bug in the sangria or the two dirty forks. Bread came.4 rolls the size of golf balls and 2 pats of butter. Vegetarian paella was not unedible. but if they had used a half bottle less of oil it would have been better. Pretty sure there was no lobster in the paella with lobster. So much runny tomato sauce it was hard to tell. Finally… in addition to checking your forks, check the glassware… broken and cracked glasses are a disaster waiting to happen. If you cone here… may the Force be with you.

Big disappointment we won’t be back! We were the only people in the restaurant so there was no excuse for how many things were wrong. The Sangria was the worst we ever had. Our meals were not good at all. The waitress forgot my husband soup probably just as well. One dinner at a time was delivered to the table then we waited some more for the rice. The place did not have good ambiance. It didn’t feel Spanish at all. Some Spanish music playing in the background might have helped. We could hear all the activity and conversations from the kitchen. The staff seemed to have no idea that the food was terrible and it was a horrible dining experience.

We chose Las Tapas as our food stop on New Year’s Eve with a party of 8. The food was good and fresh. None of us had any complaints in that regard. I had the tuna tartare and it was absolutely delicious. With that said we come to the other side of the coin, the service. It was terrible. The restaurant was half empty and there was more than enough wait staff around. Our initial drink order took 20 minutes to arrive at our table. The waitress kept wandering off while taking our orders, as a result the food arrived in long drawn out stages, and the first in our party were finished when the last dish arrived. We were unable to get anyone’s attention to get drink refills until one of our party got up and stepped into the waitresses path. We had hoped that on New Year’s Eve there would be some Spanish music or even Flamenco dancing … No such luck, a DJ with, gasp, country and some pop music! Really? In a Tapas restaurant?

We went here on a whim last Thursday. We ordered three tapas but the only one that was memorable was the one with filet mignon over potatoes. We enjoyed the chocolate raspberry mousse for dessert. The server was very attentive and gave great service. Just a note(and we have no idea if this is a regular thing) – the servers were singing opera and show tunes. I thought it was fun, but I know that’s not enjoyable to everyone so just be aware.

As a Spanish American this food was awful and anyone eating here should know this is not authentic Spanish food. It was by far the worst Paella dish I ever had and the Tapas were over price and down right nasty. I guess if your from the middle of no where it would be good, but please don’t think you eating Spanish food because you would be so wrong in every level. Try their beers and burger stay away from the food.

The tapas was tasty but I would not go back. We ordered chicken tenders from the kids menu for my 4 year old. When they arrived they had been cut up, and many were raw in the middle! How they missed that as they were slicing them is beyond me. After the meal we ordered dessert. They brought my son ice cream with a mouldy strawberry on top! Obviously there is little quality control on food leaving the kitchen. Both dishes should have been caught by the sous chef, chef, or waiter before arriving at our table. Apologies were offered by staff. We were still shocked that we were charged for the kid’s meal. Go, and enjoy the tapas. Check your food first.

Las Tapas/Bavarian Brewery If you want the BESTHEALTHY beer(only 4 ingredients and NATURALLYCARBONATED, brewed according the Purity Act 1516) try the Bavarian Brewery’s beers. There are only 3 other breweries in the USA which brew beer in this healthy style! Plus their food is fresh and prepared for you! Try this restaurant and brewery. Excellent beer and food! They do offer other brews, wines, mixed drinks and food specials. Right at Brownwood«Paddock Square«in The Villages Florida.

I had a great time at Las Tapas even though their vegan options were severely limited. Please understand that tapas are meant for sharing and are just small appetizers so order up. Some dishes they offer here are larger and will serve one but for the most part, they are small dishes. Our server was awesome and the sangria they had made fresh really hit the spot! We will return, I’m sure.

No way! I was really disappointed in the place! WAYWAYWAY overprice for the quality of food you get. Items are so small. Yes, I know it’s a tapas place… I love going to restaurants of this kind but, my goodness! $ 9 for a plate that was smaller then my fist, and I’m a small girl. It tasted like it was made hours before and sitting under a heat lamp. Yuck. Just yuck. Service was just plane embarrassing. Never greeted after we were seated. I actually had to go to the hostess and ask if we had a server. She had to find someone??? Seriously?!? Finally we ordered. Waiter said it’s easier to order by number… We did. When food arrived the runner was just rude! She would just start putting plates on the table. Nothing looked like what we ordered. As I tried to explain this to her she muttered to another food runner that these people have no clue(talking about us) I stood up and looked at her dead in the eye and said«Look at what you put on our table… Before you say one more word check your ticket and see that YOU have no clue» turns out she did bring us another tables order. I will absolutely never return to this place.

We headed to The Villages today to dine at Las Tapas. Located off SR44 in Brownwood, it’s about 5 minutes from the Turnpike. They offer a large seating area outside as well as a nicely decorated dining room. The menu is large and offers something for everyone. Some of the tapas have an American spin to them and some of the items suffer as a result. Chicken Croquetas: Did not like, too large and the chicken was cut into big chunks with little flavor. Gambas Al Ajillo: A-Ok, not enough salt and not enough heat/sizzle. A bit undercooked. Tabla De Embutidos(Meats): Small portion but good quality of Jamon Serrano, Chorizo and Lomo. Served with apple slices and grapes. Tortilla Espanola: Served hot which is a big no no in Spain. It had good flavor but at room temp, would’ve been better. Calamari: Fried perfectly and fresh. Sangria: Good, a lot of fruit and decent overall flavor. We ended up skipping dessert because Russell Stover is less than 3 miles away. The service was very good and our server checked on us throughout our meal. I think they still have to work out some kinks in the kitchen but I think it will have success with the residents of The Villages.
