Established in 2002.

My name is Slava. I currently have 27 years of experience of being optician. From old school style to the latest technology. After working for small high end boutiques and large companies as well for 15 years, i decided its time to give my own best to customers and do it MY way. Its been a fun and enjoyable experience so far. I have never regretted that decision since.

I had a great experience at Optical Universe. Slava was extremely nice and helpful — after trying on over 50 pairs of glasses, we found the perfect frame for my face. I took the glasses home and after a few days I decided I wanted them in tortoise rather than black. Optical Universe didn’t have the tortoise frames in stock, but Slava ordered them and happily facilitated the exchange, no questions asked.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! The temples on my husband’s glasses broke. We ordered new ones and needed them put on and adjusted. I called to see if Optical Universe could do this. The owner, Slava, said yes and it would be no charge. We wanted to come down the following day so Slava told us to ask for Maduk when we got there. When we showed up and asked for Maduk, he knew exactly what we were coming in for. He replaced the temples on my husband’s glasses (which was tricky, but of course he did it perfectly) and then he cleaned and adjusted his glasses as well. And be charged us nothing to do all of that work. How incredibly nice! This place has a great eyeglass selection, exceptional customer service, it’s clean and easy to find. Highly recommend! Thank you Slava and Maduk for all of your help!

Optical Universe is amazing. It’s not big, but the selection is awesome. The owner has a personality to match his selection. Slava’s a real cool cat.
Now, I’m a busy guy, but I have to admit our conversation was awesome… and not terribly sunglasses related. You see… I’m a Harley guy and Slava owns a Triumph… I own a beast and he owns a sewing machine on two wheels… anyhow… I digress.
I originally came in just to look around and I ended up buying a beautiful pair of Oliver Peoples shades… real cool, retro frames… kind of Buddy Holly-​ish if you can imagine.
Cut to the chase… Optical Universe gets another 5 Star review and another customer-​for-​life for that charismatic Russian guy who owns the joint.

Great customer service! Slava is a gem. I needed three different prescription lenses, had multiple adjustments needed for one of them and Slava was helpful, professional and accommodating throughout. Fast and friendly, at a price that was a fraction what I’d been quoted at LensCrafters, you really can’t ask for more. My go-​to eyewear place from now on.

This place is the one to go to when you are looking for the lattes and greatest brands and styles plus the prices are very good here. They got the hottest brands like Dita and Barton perreira, even if they dont have a model you are looking for Slava the owner most likely will get it for you… He’s there most of the time and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to all kinds of eyewear. When you will make your first perches you will get treated like family every time you come to the door, this place has best costumer service, i love it.

Great selection of trendy frames… I tried on a few but I love my frames so much that I had them done over. Very friendly owner and staff. They spent a lot of time talking to my Dr.‘s office to make sure the RX was done right. The lab made a mistake and it was no hassle to have them re-​check and send it back. They are very customer oriented!

I once went to the mall to buy the #1 glasses lenses in America crizal alizé they told me $ 2000. The stores name was lens crafters I asked why is it $ 2000 they grabbed a screw driver and scratched the glasses lenses and nothing happened. I said I am going to use my brain I am not going to pay $ 2000 for a glasses lenses. The next day i searched online called store around me and asked if they have crizal alizé. Optics universe was the only store that said we have crizal alizé yes but avancé is better for more than half the price of those lenses in the mall he gave me crizal avancé. Every time i go to the mall i says hey check my lenses and they say ya this is crizal avancé i am like ya i got it for $ 200 half your price. Every day I happy about having these lenses thanks salave

I came in here with my fiancé after she had just picked up a bridesmaids dress (for a different wedding) next door. We’d planned on going to the usual mall establishment (sunglasses hut, etc) but spotted this place in the same strip mall, so why not?!
We were immediately and graciously greeted by Slava, the owner or at least a guy who knows what he is talking about. He was super nice and personable while we shopped around and looked at various styles, even giving his honest opinion on what he thought worked and didn’t work on us.
We ended up buying two pairs of Ray Ban Wayfarers, and he was nice enough to tell us about the special discount for Unilocal customers. Note that this review was NOT required, all you need to do is check in, I just felt the need to spread the love. Slava gave us 15% off and we felt great about the entire experience. This was a nice change compared to the normal sunglasses shop where I feel like I’m being accosted by car salesmen the entire time.
To summarize — go get your next pair of sunglasses (or prescription glasses) from these guys. They’re a non-​franchise bunch with a great attitude and deserve the business.
