Love the service, food, coffee and location. Such a cool setup and they let you sit forEVer working or just hanging out. Would definitely recommend them.

Finally I made it to B Sharp! I really enjoyed it! It is spacious, relaxing and not tiny where you can immerse yourself in your studies, reading, visiting and all the other activities when you do social transactions at coffee houses! The night we were here it was pretty quiet which we like but they do have bands that play here as well so you would need to sacrifice your quiet time at that point. Here we ordered a sausage and cheese plate and a quesadilla. All of which were delicious! We in fact over ordered and had to take some of our food home because we ordered too much! The staff here was very friendly and welcoming! There seems to be a back room towards the restrooms that has a catacombs feel to it right down to dripping water coming off the walls(not intentional) which would be a good escape on nights when you don’t want to see whatever band that may be playing. Really a cool coffee shop situated in Opera Alley which adds some artsy to downtown Tacoma.

The service was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I really got the impression that they did not want me there. I would go as far as to say the barista was downright snooty. They were very nice to the guy in line behind me. Maybe I’m just not young and hip enough to go there. The americano I was served was probably the worst I’ve ever had. I will not be going back.

Once again, a little bit crushing on Tacoma. The place is so fun! Like a retro carnival meets industrial warehouse.

A cute local coffee house that has jazz shows, standup comedy, and local art displayed. The space itself is industrial yet warm… very cozy feeling. They serve Blue Beard coffee and Mad Hat tea… win win win. It’s located in Opera Alley which is a sweet and charming little street in downtown with shops and restaurants. They also have a small food menu… items like breakfast sandwiches and salads. The breakfast sandwiches are very tasty! My only gripe about B Sharp is that they put mayo on all their sandwiches but don’t list it as an ingredient… maybe it’s just a quirk of mine but I do feel establishments should list every ingredient so you’re not surprised when your food arrives. Overall this is a great local place for gathering, art, and listening to tunes! If you haven’t been here yet… why not?!

I loved the band but they didn’t play very long. It was cold in there, they needed some heat since it was winter. Also, they didn’t have much as far as food.

A friend and I were looking for a place to study for a few hours and stumbled upon B Sharp Coffee House. The shop is located in an alley and can be difficult to find. If you want to park for free, you will be driving around for awhile, but there is a number of paid parking nearby. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, and was the perfect refuge from the dreary Tacoma day. The ruben sandwich was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. They had a number of suggestions, but it was pretty obvious that they were vegetarians, so if you like meat, maybe just select on your own laurels. Be brave! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. For the studiously minded, there are a variety of tables, ranging from small to large. They even have couch space, if you’re not a table studier. They have a number of outlets on the periphery, which is great for long study sessions. Just beware that they have live music in the evenings. It’s definitely a day time study place! And on a separate note, don’t let your journey to the bathroom scare you. The bathroom is located through a back door and down a corridor. It is nicely decorated, but the concrete walls can make the space feel a bit dark and gothic. I assure you that the bathroom is very nice, clean, and safe!

I would just love to say Ruby is a great interior designer and it’s great to finally have a place for all ages. Because I’m 19 my only other options seem to be hookah or some sweaty EDM club in Seattle. It’s considerably closer to where I live. I know that a bar will soon be conjoined but I’m hoping some sort of all ages still happens. Adams a nice server, answered all my odd questions. Coffee has a very clear citrus note. More local options for beer would be cool. My rating is purely for the atmosphere and all ages– although it’s mostly 30+ in here I don’t mind.

Stopped in for an afternoon coffee. It’s quite a large coffee shop and has a lot more to offer than just coffee. The décor is very antique-ish. They serve coffee, beer, wine and a different atmosphere than most coffee shops. Live music and comedy on certain days. This place was also home to the original location of the Tacoma News Tribune. When inside you can see some of the original pieces.

Walked in here late on a Saturday night and lo and behold they were open and had a swingin jazz band playing. Modest cover charge. Got my post comedy show coffee with a bonus of some fine music. Crowd is in the retirement spectrum age wise but the music was ageless.

Just having a latte right now but had to check out this place as a real estate client recommended it as his«favorite place» to hang in Tacoma. Quirky, funky space and I love it! They have jazz type musicians play here regularly which would be really fun to see. They serve wine and beer and have a happy hour.

I think this could be one of the best total experience small music venues I have been to in a loooong time. Let me say first and foremost the vibe is great! The pour-over coffee was stellar and the range of dishes we all had from hummus to reubens, to flatbread pizzas they were all very tasty. We all opted not to get the local sausage for some reason… but that will be a choice next time for sure. They looked delicious and folks at the table next to us were raving about them. The staff were super nice, and fun which is always such a factor when you look at the big picture. To be able to get good fare and sit and listen to live music is what the world needs more of. It’s apparent that the folks who own/run the place care about the experience. And I know it sounds kooky, but the trip to the bathroom is an added plus to the experience in the coolest of ways. I cannot wait to go back.

The vibe of this place is great. Friends can gather at one of the large tables or a few of the comfy sofas and enjoy a quality cup of coffee or beer or wine. There’s also a few small plates available to snack on– think hummus and crackers or cheese plate. There is often live music in the evenings– check their website for upcoming performances. Once a month B Sharp hosts the Creative Colloquy(local Creative writing magazine) readings.

Cool, boho spot. Hung out here with a cup of coffee as I waited for my show to start at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts down the street.

Looking for a vibey coffee shop? This is your spot. Absolutely beautiful inside, awesome coffee, and an assortment of food/beer/wine. I would love to come and hear live music here sometime, or even to plug in my laptop and work during a quiet, kidless evening. My vanilla latte was perfect, and my husband got his signature Americano, which was solid. Our son enjoyed his pastry and shot glass of chocolate milk. I wish I lived closer, I would come much more often! Keep it up!
