At Bonnie McDermott Studios we believe everyone deserves to have their lives filled with beautiful art to reminisce days gone by, to be inspired, to focus on the good things in life and to show off your distinctive taste. We help you achieve this through our photography, artwork, and teaching programs.

History

Established in 2009.

In June of 2009 Bonnie launched Bonnie McDermott Photography, specializing in family photography. At the time she was a junior high and High school teacher teach art and yearbook. Bonnie started part time.

In August 2012 Bonnie left her teaching job and went full time in her photography business.

January 2013 she changed the focus of her business to teaching photography to the enthusiast and entry-​level photographers of all ages, experience and types of cameras. Also in January she has made available her fine art nature photography.

2014 Bonnie has combined her passion for photography, painting and teaching. This resulted in a name change of her business to Bonnie McDermott Studios. She now has two studios one for her photography and one for her painting. Her services now include portrait, event and nature photography, paintings, murals, commissioned art, photo and art classes, and paint nights.

Business Owner

Being the youngest of five children, she has fond memories of growing up in a large family. One of her early childhood memories is running bare foot in the hot soft sand of a very deep, long dry wash wearing a little white summer dress with her long golden-​brown hair blowing back in the wind and the hot desert sun warming her face. What freedom! Interestingly, in her memory her view is from behind, watching herself as she runs away, backlit by the yellow setting sun. In the foreground of her memory photo are her discarded little sandals. As an artist, she hunts for moments like this to capture for others in photos and paintings.
