Quality Inn & Suites Sunnyvale

This place is a dump. Dirty looking. Shoddy workmanship on repairs. Toilets plug up with minimal use. Carpets worn and dirty. For $ 200 a night you would expect more.

We went back for anniversary dinner and the food and service was even better. Excellent place.

Called front desk they said sorry and hung up on me.

The staff is very friendly, but the location is a bit sketchy, and the rooms are old, dirty, and falling apart. This is a cheap hotel, and that’s fine, but it’s not priced like a cheap hotel. I will do my best to not have to stay here again.

I’ll start off being nice by saying the front desk clerk at 4 am was very nice and it has a good location right off the freeway, not to mention nice soft pillows… now unfortunately it was over priced at 175 for a Thursday night! The security lock was Broken, the room had paper thin walls the floors were creaky and the shower was patched together and the shower handle was loose, no trash can in the bathroom and the tile was cracked on the floor. Not to mention there was a used piece of toilet tissue sitting on the toilet… Not ok
When we went to the front desk to check out they weren’t apologetic but at least they didn’t charge me for the second night.

Our two-​night stay was OK – not the greatest but it was a place to sleep. The bed was comfortable but the room, ultra small. Internet connection was extremely, extremely slow. Most of the times, I couldn’t connect.
The staff was not unfriendly, but seemed very disinterested in us as visitors. No smiles, no friendly greeting or conversations. Once, we asked the front desk to call a cab for us so we could go to Levi’s Stadium. After waiting and waiting for the cab to arrive, we asked the young lady at the desk to confirm if the cab company had been called. The disinterested young lady picked up the phone and called someone and spoke Spanish to her. Then, she informed us that no cab had been called – no apologies. We asked her to call a cab for us and she acted as if it was a great inconvenience.
There was a loud party going on Friday and Saturday night and even though we called the front desk to complain, the party continued. Later, we found out family members of the people who operate the hotel were having the party – I guess that explains why nothing was done about the noise. The same goes for all the running and loud noise by kids in the room next to mine. When I complained, I found out that members of the family who operate the hotel, stay in one of the rooms on a more or less permanent basis.
A hot, full breakfast was promised to us on Saturday morning. There were no eggs, simply hot Danish and toast.
Overall, the rooms are average for a night’s stay but the staff we dealt with was very unaccommodating.

Booked very last minute (same night, weekend) through Priceline and couldn’t be happier with the product. With taxes the total cost per night was less than any hotel I’ve stayed at during the last twelve months with accommodations equaling that of more expensive chains.
I got a single queen room in building two and I was surprised that even though the square footage was small I wasn’t bothered by it. Instead, I felt a coziness I don’t typically get in chain hotels.
Bed? Comfy.
Towels? Clean and Soft.
Breakfast? Warm and Tasty.
Staff? Accommodating and Very Courteous.
I will definitely stay here again whether booking last minute or planning well in advance

I travel all around California and have been to a wide variety of hotels and this is still one of my favorite places to stay. I don’t know where all the negativity is coming from in all of these reviews because i have nothing good but good things to say every time i stay here.
For starters the staff is welcoming and helping in finding me a room. Palmira, Paola, Nancy, and Lucy always try their best to get me situated in a room of my liking and go out of. their way to do so. The breakfast is my favorite out of all the quality inns I’ve been too, they put out a full selection to choose from not just cereal and oatmeal like other places. My hats off to Sylvia the cook.
The parking is spacious, the rooms are cozy and clean. The pricing is very reasonable for everything it offers. This is an overall great value for the price, yo lo recomiendo!

It’s a bed, sink, TV, shower. Staff is friendly and yes it’s run down, needs an overhaul (although they claim to be renovating it).
The internet connection is my biggest complaint– slow, inconsistent, to just flat out non existing. My experience wasn’t horrible but if I ever have to stay in the area again I’m going to go elsewhere.

Remodeling the hotel lobby. The room that I paid $ 65.00 per night on Priceline was so small that I had to leave the door open to unpack my bags. Priceline rates this hotel as a 2 ½ star but it reminded me of a low budget motel 6. Next to a run down apartment complex. Outdated swamp coolers for air conditioning. No bath tub just a shower and a toilet. Breakfast was late on Saturday morning which I missed because of the lack of staff. One star is for the comfort of the bed.

Good deal. In this area for this price… It sort of makes sense. This inn leaves the guests an impression that they are tryin to cut down costs in every possible way…

Honestly, it’s a quality inn. There are beds and showers and sinks, and if you need a place to sleep, here it is. If you’re spending time in your hotel room at length, don’t stay here, but otherwise it’s perfectly fine and the staff were friendly and the place was generally clean.
We had our Amex concierge book it last minute on a Tuesday night and she still got us $ 120 or so when everywhere else was sold out, and everything was in the range of $ 400/​night,

I have stayed here twice, both times for business for 5 nights each.
There are a few problems with this hotel.
The exterior, front desk, and patio areas are nice looking but things are much different in the guest buildings. The rooms are very old and not well maintained.
The first stay I couldn’t find anywhere to plug anything in. Like many travelers today I carry with me a laptop, tablet, phone and 1 or 2 other devices and having the ability to plug my phone in close to the bed is nearly essential as it gets used as an alarm.
There are no available outlets anywhere close to the bed. The closest was by the A/​C unit and the outlet was very old and worn out. Anything I plugged in would fall out. I was eventually able to locate a working outlet under the desk and this allowed me to plug in 1 device at a time as it was just as old as the rest in the room.
Another issue I had was with the wireless internet. Once logged in I would have maybe 2 – 5 min where my iPad would work and then it just died. The connection was still there but I could not get anywhere on the web. After fighting with it for a bit I just shut WiFi off and used LTE. Things were a bit better with my laptop, I didnt ever completely lose the ability to use the web but speeds were very slow and inconsistent.
The last and likely most troubling issue was with the water in the bathroom.
When first turned on in the morning the water in the shower was slightly yellow with a faint odor. After about 30 – 60 seconds it cleared up and didn’t smell.
My first stay was at $ 110 per night average and I made sure and reported all the issues I had to the front desk when I checked out. I received a call from the manager later that same day with apologies and an offer of a partial credit. He also put me in contact with his network admin so that I could give him my observations about the wireless directly. Additionally he offered a discount on my next stay and promised he would address the issues.
The second time around it was obvious there had been some changes as there was now a new outlet installed in the wall above the desk. However there was still no way to plug anything in close to the bed.
The other issues however remained.

We came to California for my cousins wedding in Palo Alto. My cousin booked a hotel block for everyone that was $ 110/​night. Our flight from Chicago was expensive, so we had to find something more affordable.
In comes the Quality Inn — Sunnyvale. I recommend you book on
if you plan to stay at a Quality Inn, Econolodge, or Comfort Inn etc… If you create an account (for free) and book a few weeks in advance, you get your room so much cheaper.
We paid $ 424 for 5 nights (including a full weekend) and paid an average of $ 84/​night with taxes and all.
Overall, this was a great deal considering they have an awesome continental breakfast. My family that stayed at the booked hotel for the wedding were unhappy because they did not get a free hot breakfast. This Quality Inn had a waffle maker, cereal, muffins, bread, scrambled eggs, juices, coffees with different flavored creams.
The best part about the breakfast is that one of the dishes was different every day. One day they had bacon, sausage, biscuits n gravy, etc… When you stay somewhere for 5 full nights, you get bored if you eat the same free breakfast (I know, I’ve stayed in hostels before and lived off free cereal and bread).
Our room was clean and great for the price. Nice big bed, not particularly soft and cozy, but it’s a hotel and not going to be perfect.
Overall, I’d stay here again. I did my research on all options and this turned out to be a happy medium from staying at a hole in the wall or overpaying for a place with less amenities.
My boyfriend who stayed there with my says that he slept well. I speculate he was enjoying the larger size bed and the fact that I wasn’t kicking him or rolling into him all night.
For the price we paid, I definitely think this was worth it. Staff was friendly and also happy to give us more towels or whatever we needed.

Here is a potentially great property however it is old rundown and dirty. It is obvious looking at the current condition of the rooms that the Owner does not care. Paint falling off the ceiling and room is state of disrepair. The bathroom had hair on the walls, I took a picture that will be sent to Choice Hotels, and the carpet is soiled. This means the Manager is not following up on the housekeeping staff. The outside of the place is maintained well but that’s it. The rate is very high for the Quality.
This is a NO GO, don’t stay.

I stayed here for two nights during the Labor Day weekend. I was traveling with my girlfriend and her two kids. We used this location as a launching pad for both San Jose and San Francisco. We were satisfied with the hotel room. Basically, we only needed a place to sleep since we were gone the entire day. So it got the job done. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. For us, it was a great value since there was 4 of us; it saved us from having to go out and pay breakfast for 4. It has a small do-​it-​yourself kitchen with a sitting area. You can choose from an assortment of cereals and oatmeal, eggs, bacon, tater tots, french toast, danishes. There’s a waffle maker with two different mixes. You can also make toast. As for drinks, there is orange juice, apple cider and at least two other fruit juices. There are several different Lattes to choose from.
This is not a bad place to stay, as long as you’re not too picky and don’t raise your expectations too high.

haw haw, I should of done more review when picking this hotel, but it was close to work. My main issue with this place was it was noisy, I was on the first floor and some kids would run down the hallways for 2 hours each night and you could hear every step. I don’t even think they actually pay for a room either as they venture into the large room by the check-​in counter to hang out with their other friends (like 20 of them). Either the same people that own the place also let their friends and families live there or its a cool hangout for certain kids.
Other minor things: The sink sprays water sideways onto the counter, there was a tile next to the tub that was completely sunk into the floor, beds did smell a little but not too bad, most of the breakfast was gone around 8am due to those same kids (like 20 of them), taking all the food (except for the sausage cause its pork or beef *hint*).
Staff was alright, they gave me $ 10/​night off after I mentioned the noise. It was $ 99/​night for midweek. Total rip off for the quality. I’m now staying at Hilton Gardens in Cupertino for $ 84/​night and it’s 100x better, just wasn’t available midweek.
Don’t stay here. Worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

Breakfast is for people who would eat anything.
Worth bringing your kids to show how VCR looks like and then just leave.
Swimming pool has hot water, but be careful with exercise room, unless you like visiting your father and he is a doctor — equipment looks not maintained.
Feedback form (written by somebody else) in the room has not been picked since September. Maybe this is just a polite way to show where to stick it.
Staff is really nice and helpful, but who about that cares if connection to Internets is not working most of the time?

I got a great deal on this hotel, but I gotta tell you, this is the worst place I’ve ever stayed. The room is tiny, everything is old, the layout of the room makes it difficult to get around, there is a funk smell in the hallway, the hotel layout is inconvenient and awkward, the desk setup is bad for work, all the pillows are half-​sized, etc etc. It’s crappy. The location is good, the lobby is nice, and the amenities (pool, exercise room, breakfast, etc.) are good so it gets an extra star for that. The people working here were all great so that’s worth something too.
Not terrible as long as you just use the room to sleep and shower, and think of it kinda like a hostel… and it’s cheaper than some hostels I’ve seen in worse places so it’s not THAT bad… considering the price.
