Larkspur Landing – Sunnyvale

I’ve stayed at Larkspur 5 times previously. This time, I couldn’t make my reservation due to an unplanned ER admission. I called to request a cancellation. Wendy, the front desk manager was so sweet and understanding.
Thank you so much Wendy! You made my bad day better.

Did a google search to find motels with hot tubs and choose this one based on pictures. Well guess what it has been filled in and they no longer have one. All I get is sorry. The room was nice but thats not all I was there for

I came down to the Sunnyvale area to visit family for the weekend. This hotel was the best quality for the cost in the area. In fact, I paid much less than I would have at other 2 or 3 star hotels in the area and this hotel provided a 5 star experience. I stayed in the king suite and they already had the crib set-​up for my daughter before I checked in. The morning breakfast was a bonus. Larkspur Landing will be my first choice when I return.

Great hotel. Breakfast is not great. #1 the breakfast room is not really a room, but the entryway of the hotel and #2 the selection is very limited for a hotel in this category. Breakfast at the Residence Inn nearby is much much better. Big disappointment for me is the lack of a fidelity program.

Extremely rude staff who immediately turned me away because I didn’t have a credit card on hand for the $ 250 deposit (which was not mentioned until I tried to check in) and couldn’t even take down a back up card number via phone. They also told me they couldn’t cancel my reservation or refund me the money already charged to my account and I would have to call expedia to cancel without a refund. Instead of sympathizing with an extremely frustrated, travel-​weary potential guest and offering solutions, they just stood there repeating the same useless information and copping an attitude. At least expedia the company I booked with switched me to a different hotel for no extra cost, were extremely apologetic and sympathetic, and left me with a $ 25 credit to my next trip for the inconvenience.
If the Larkspur staff had suggested that I could possibly get my reservation switched to a different hotel by calling expedia or even offering me a phone, an apology, or a manager to speak with I would probably have brushed this situation off and booked with them again in the future.
Unfortunately the staff didn’t so much as say a word to me as I walked out of the lobby after an hour of trying to figure this out sans their help, so goodbye Larkspur, offense taken.

After traveling for 10hrs and arriving at midnight I was told that there was a problem with my reservation and that they were overbooked. They said I had to go to their militias location. The guaranteed reservation is actually not guaranteed. I had no choice but to drive to militias where they then gave me a room next to a one where the guest blasted his TV all night. With no sleep I was then told that I had to go back to Sunnyvale location.
Wow what an ordeal. I will never stay at any larkspur again.

This place is going downhill. I’ve stayed here for years. $ 190/​night and mildew in the bathroom, room is musty, my shower drain backed up during a short shower and left my feet covered which i really don, t like.
My pillow cases were cleaned but obviously old and from lots of use.
Short shower left entire room stuffy.
Lastly, There was no creamer in with the sugars so ill get a cup downstairs.
Place is ok. Just not being kept up.

This place was in a convenient location for me on recent work trip. Everything about the hotel was pretty good. Nothing stood out or was spectacular, but I didn’t have any major issues either.
The internet speed was not very impressive, but at least it was free. The staff were friendly and there were cookies at the reception desk every night. My room was comfortable and the seating area and kitchen are probably very convenient for some people. There weren’t too many restaurants nearby that seemed appetizing. I’d recommend eating elsewhere.

I’ve never had a full hotel experience that compelled me to write a review until we had a 1 night stay at Larkspur Landing in Sunnyvale. You know when you feel like you got WAY more than for what you paid for…
The front desk staff were super friendly and personable. While checking in, we were joking and laughing with them when one of their staff came out with a plate of warm cookies… Awesome. They made sure to give us all the need-​to-​know accomodation details so we dont miss out on anything. Free continental breakfast in the morning, ice on the first floor etc. I’m not sure if every room has a kitchenette, but they make your stay SO convenient and feel like you’re at home. Rooms are clean, beds are COMFY, sheets are clean, kitchen is stocked with cook and dining ware.
I’m still laying in bed waiting for everyone to get up to check out. Let’s just say this is guaranteed to be the hotel we stay at for EVERY Levi’s Stadium event.
PLUS, this location is just a 12 minute über/​lyft ride away from the Stadium!

For the price, fantastic!
Positives — very easy access to Highway 101; nice design with lots of trees, only three stories; excellent staff; I had a very roomy suite with nice kitchenette, comfortable furniture and bedding
Negatives — WiFi was weak off/​on. That’s about it.
I could hear the traffic a little bit and those above me, but barely – and I have excellent hearing.

Stayed for one night and will be back! The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The price was awesome for the accommodations!
I couldn’t give the hotel 5 stars for two reasons:
~Although it was very clean in my room, the kitchen and the bathroom — I don’t think they clean the lights in the bathroom. There were dead little bugs inside or at least I think they were dead?
~And secondly, the breakfast was disappointing.
Regardless I will be back when staying in the Sunnyvale area.

To quote the front desk: «It is what it is.» If you thought this was silicon valley, you’d be wrong. They told me they cap the internet at 2mbps. And I was only getting 1.3mbps. If you need to use the internet for anything except sending ascii, stay away. The breakfast doesn’t have cold water. They told me «you can go to the ice machine in the hall.»

We had such a good time at this hotel. The best part of the hotel was Joanne the customer service front desk ageMr. she made this visit for me just a wonderful experience and she was very thoughtful courteous and she’s a very good person

We are staying here for 8 nights (yes, still here!) and have been thoroughly happy with the accommodation, front desk staff, housekeeping, free Wifi, and free laundry! The breakfast is totally fine — it’s all about managing your expectations, people. Personally, I’m happy with the mostly continental style breakfast because that’s what I normally eat.
The fitness room is a bit limited (only 1 elliptical, 1 reclined stationery bike, 1 treadmill) but I’ve had the entire room to myself each time I’ve been there so no complaints there.
Oh! Did I mention the freshly baked cookies?!
One more thing — they are dog friendly and accommodated our pet as well.

This place was a much-​appreciated shock when I visited in October of 2014. The size and quality of the rooms (to a guy used to getting much less for paying the same), to the quality and friendliness of the staff, I have almost no complaints.
Clean. Good internet (WITH ETHERNET OPTION! So nice). Comfortable beds (I prefer a harder bed, mind, so your milage may very). So spacious. And dear lord — nice and quiet. I’m cool with standard hotel noise, but I really had none of that.
Only thing that knocked it off from a 5 was a rather… disappointing breakfast. The continental breakfast was slightly uninspired, but frankly, it’s a minor quibble.
Frankly, I’ve told everyone at my work, when visiting our HQ in Sunnyvale, that Larkspur is the place to go. The only thing keeping me from going back on my next visit? It’s already sold out. No shock there.

Awesome little gem of a romantic getaway! Probably works for business or family stuff too.
We stayed Valentine’s weekend and had such a great time that we extended our stay.
Abundant space to spread out and enjoy yourself. Great shower with amazing pressure. Double sinks in the bathroom. Great little kitchen with all we needed. Extra pillows and blankets. Great bedding and super comfortable.
Cookies. Cookies every muthaluvin day a different kind of cookie. What more than cookies do we need… well everything else I said before this but cookies are cool :)

Check your charges from this hotel! My boyfriend booked our two night stay online. They swiped our card for a $ 60 charge for incidentals which is the norm however there was another charge from the hotel for $ 147. When I called the front desk to ask what it was for the clerk couldn’t tell me. She said she didn’t see a charge from them and that it would probably fall off in a few days. She then told me to call back when a more experienced person was available. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me. In the end it turns out they charged us for an extra night. Ugh. Hopefully I will see the charges released in a few days. What a headache!!! Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable which is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars.

Front Desk was very kind and room was clean.
The bed was comfortable than I expected.
Full kitchen included big refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher.
I extended one more night instead to move the another corp suite style inn around here.
I will come back here next time.

Note bof pour cet hôtel de Sunnyvale, au bord d’une grande avenue bruyante. Les chambres (en tous cas la mienne) sont équipées d’une cuisine, dont je me demande bien qui peut en avoir l’utilisation (qui va faire ses courses au supermarché et va faire son frichti dans sa chambre d’hôtel …). Enfin bref, pourquoi pas, mais les critiques sont nombreuses :
— déco dans l’ensemble «70’s rénové» qui me fiche le cafard à chaque fois…
— les chambres donnant sur l’avenue sont très bruyantes, il n’y a pas de double vitrage, en arrivant j’ai cru que la fenêtre était entrouverte ! Heureusement que la réception a pu me changer de chambre, mais précisez dès que possible que vous voulez une chambre donnant sur l’arrière du bâtiment.
— des petits détails agaçants comme les lampes qui né s’allument que via de petites manettes super mal fichues, juste sous l’ampoule…
— WiFi certes gratuit mais avec l’habituel système pénible du portail web d’authentification (ils né peuvent pas donner un SSID et un mot de passé classique pour s’y brancher, non ?), dans le cas présent non compatible avec les smartphones, grrrr.
— la bouteille d’eau dans la chambre à 2,50 $: seriously?
— et le pire pour la fin, le «buffet» de petit-​déjeuner, si on peut l’appeler comme ça, est aussi glauque que famélique, au début j’ai cru que je m’étais trompé d’endroit… à fuir (en direction du Starbucks le plus proche, au besoin)
Alors certes les chambres sont propres et le personnel est aimable et efficace, mais quand on voit le prix très «Silicon Valley» que coûte la nuit, on a vraiment envie d’aller chercher un meilleur rapport qualité-​prix ailleurs !

I booked this hotel for a two-​night stay. Two bad experiences:
1. At check in, the man at the front desk seemed to decide to help the people BEHIND me in line instead of taking the next person waiting (that would be ME). He asked who was next, I answered «me». He doesn’t respond, instead in moves out of the line I/​we are standing in to the next station, looks at the people behind me and asks if we are together. Again, I answer and say, «No, we’re not. I was next in line.» He neither responded nor looked my way. Fortunately, a woman ran from the back to the station who had using previously and said «I’ll help you». Well, thanks. Seeing as I’m next in line. What did I do wrong as a CUSTOMER to deserve THAT?
2. The shower was stopped up. We reported it at 9:30am. At 3:30pm, maintenance had still not fixed it. Woman at the front desk said she’d just gotten in. I did not assume she was also the maintenance person.
3. At 3:30pm, the room had not been visited by housekeeping. Remember I said we reported an issue with the shower at 9:30am. That was on the way out after using the shower. Housekeeping tried to enter at about 8:45am when we were still in the room. We asked her to come back. She apparently did not. According to the Front Desk, housekeeping leaves at 3pm.
We decided we wouldn’t stay the second night and ran down the list of issues.
I’ve stayed a lot of hotels. This is the first time I’ve checked out early. It was that uncomfortable. I’ll stick with the larger, hotel chains that have housekeeping and maintenance available or can offer to switch your room instead of leaving you to stand in plumbing back up while you shower. EEEWWWW.

Love this place! The rooms are clean, the feather beds are sooooo comfortable, and I love the little kitchen areas. I consider Larkspur my little hideaway when I need to get work done or want to treat myself to a staycation.
The internet is free and the breakfast food is decent. I like the small yet efficient kitchenettes. They have dish sofa, dish washer soap, pots, pans, utensils, cooking utensils, glassware, and plates. There is also a dishwasher, stove, sink, and microwave. I also liked the coffee and tea the hotel provides too.
There is also an ice machine on the first floor too. I only use the ice machine while I am waiting for my freezer to make ice. It usually takes an hour.
Overall, I really like this hotel. It has everything I need for my working staycations.
