Specialties
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality, comprehensive vision care for all ages. Our ophthalmologists and optometrists provide a full range of services from routine eye exams to advanced vision correction.
PAMF Optometrists screen for diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, hypertensive retinopathy and diabetic retinopathy. They also prescribe corrective lenses when needed, such as glasses and contact lenses, and prescribe medications to treat many eye diseases, such as red eye and conjunctivitis.
In addition to general ophthalmology, including cataract evaluation and surgery, subspecialty services are available in cornea and external disease, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastic surgery and vitreo-retinal disease and surgery.
History
Established in 1930.
The Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) for Health Care, Research and Education is a not-for-profit health care organization that is a pioneer in the multispecialty group practice of medicine. Founded in 1930, PAMF is part of the Peninsula Coastal Region of Sutter Health, one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit networks of community-based health care providers. Sutter Health’s Peninsula Coastal Region also includes Mills-Peninsula Health Services. PAMF’s 1,100 affiliated physicians and 3,300 employees serve 800,000 patients at its medical centers and clinics in Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. PAMF also offers seamless access to care across the PAMF network, enabled by a system-wide electronic health record.
