I had a great experience with this company. The owner came within a day to check out my problem for free. Many other places charge you to come out. My damper was broken, other people have come out and told me I need a new one and would charge me $ 400, he was honest and fixed the one I had. I also think the name of the company is creative and fitting

This guy is all about the up-​sell so I recommend you get other quotes. He was free sooner than others (which probably has a lot to do with his attitude)…then spent the whole time bitching about how long the visit was taking and attempting to up sell me and grumbling/​bitching if I didn’t go for what he was offering.
Experience:
He came and inspected/​cleaned chimney. Then I agreed to have him install a fire starter for about ~400 bucks and a new chimney cover for $ 160…He «finished» installing the fire starter it in about 20 min and it was totally loose (loose like my 1 yr old could swing the pipe around given the chance). When I asked him to tighten it down, he started complaining about how he was going to waste another 15 minutes on the visit (mind you at this point this visit had lasted about an hour with a price tag ~700 bucks). Then when I said I could just get a chimney cover from Home Depot for 60 bucks he went on a rant about how his were way better etc etc. it worked and I agreed to have him out his «much better» one on for 160… he then tried to convince me to buy a fire grate that was too small for my fireplace for 60 bucks…(when I say too small, I mean my fireplace is 30″ wide and his grate was 14″ wide…)
End result:
Spent 700 for:
1. The fire starter which is ugly (he was sloppy and you can see pipe sealer all over the place) cheaply done (about 10 bucks worth of piping) and not very effective
2. the chimney cover is literally the exact one I could have bought at HD for 60… stupid me.
3. Chimney cleaning (which was actually ok)

Called these gentlemen about the draft coming from our chimney in our family room and they were phenomenal. I had to wait after my first call for about a week or so, but when I did call again he told me he didn’t get back to me because I forgot to leave my number but he completely remembered who I was and my problem. =) We set up an appointment for him to come check out the fireplace and he showed up on time and gave us a fair estimate. He even took a look at our second fireplace in our office. We booked him and they showed up a week and a half later. They were on time, clean, and very well versed in what they were doing. I couldn’t have been happier. I would definitely recommend these guys to friends and work with them again. Thanks Danny and Stu. =) Our home is warmer now that we have the closure to the fireplace. YOU ROCK!!!

Let me start by saying that Danny is in one word AWESOME. He came out, instaled a rain cap, a damper and removed the old flue. The job was done fast, clean, at a good price and most importantly it was done right, it looks great. He is just a good person, who is honest, knowledgeable and so funny! Danny was nice enough and did the work well, but I really feel that he took advantage of me price-​wise. He also tried to sell me a fireplace grate for $ 75 when I saw the exact same one at Osh for $ 15.
Also for the amount I paid, he could have bothered to tell me I still needed a storm collar which he did not have on him before he started the work instead of as he was leaving. If I wasn’t in a hurry due to the weather, I would have chosen someone else.
Make sure you get more quotes than just his.

Danny and this company is a true gem! In this world of shady contractors, liars and crooks it’s hard to believe there are still really good people out there like him. He is the real deal. Came for a free estimate and said my fireplace was clean. He educated me on chimneys 101 love him for that, then fixed a minor adjustment solving my problem for Free!
I had to tip him as he has to be the most knowledgable, friendly, honest guy out there. He will be my go-​to fireplace cleaning co and he does other adjustments and upgrades like modifying to a glass fireplace he should advertise those services. He’s awesome I wish him the best of luck. And pls at least tip him for gas for driving out to your place. Great work and service should be rewarded.

I contacted Mary Poppins Chimney by Unilocal and got a reply promptly. I scheduled inspection on a Sunday and Stuart was very prompt and courteous. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, climbing the roof and checking the jammer and chimney. He told me what a good chimney is like and how to maintain mine. I would totally recommend him to all friends.

I had them come over to inspect my chimney to see if I needed it to be swept. From the moment I called them to the time they left. They were professional and honest. I was not charged for inspection and overall my chimney was given a clean bill of health (no cleaning or repairs required) will definelty recommend to family and friends!

Danny came to sweep our chimney, fix cracks in our fireplace and install a new fireplace log system.

Danny came to inspect our chimney. Free inspection. Friendly and honest man. Explained why smoke was coming out inside the home due to how I was making fires.
Chimney was clean so no cleaning necessary.

Danny was awesome– consummate professional. He worked extremely hard and ended up charging less than his «competitors.» Highly recommended.

What can I say, this company rocks! Danny and Stu came out because we had a problem with our house filling up with smoke when we had a fire. Come to find out we were just building fires too big and too fast (our opening is only 8 inches). They hooked us up with a much smaller appropriate wood grate, gave us a quick «how to build an indoor fire» lesson and we were good to go.
They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. I HATE when contractors try and up sell you something you don’t need or just «bs» you all together. I never got that feeling from these guys. Straight to the point with a «if it’s not broke, why fix it?» attitude. I seriously can not say enough positive things about these guys, we jokingly asked if they could please get their «B» license so they can take care of all our contractor needs lol.
Call them, you won’t be disappointed!

They did a good job inspecting our chimney however they came late because they could not locate our house. In addition when they came to do repairs, the repair man, Danny, had a serious attitude problem. Not only was he rude and disrespectful to my mom, he did repairs that we had specifically discussed to not do! After exclaiming how he had done repairs without our permission, he demanded that we pay for the additional repairs. They do a good job but I cannot accept their poor customer service. Later on I found out that the additional repair he performed would have cost half the price he charged us. Ultimately my family and I were unhappy with their service.

Danny came out and did an inspection and evaluation for my client.
He was running a behind and did not get a chance to let me know, so I docked one star, but he was extremely apologetic upon his arrival and made sure we weren’t upset.
I will def keep him on hand for my future real estate chimney inspections as his fees are some of the best around.

I was in the process of selling my house and the buyer wanted the chimney inspected as part of the inspection process. I had a very short time in which to get it done. I called Danny and he was so helpful and nice. He came out the next day after I got off work, even though it was after his regular work hours! He did a great job cleaning the chimney and doing some surface repair work. He’s incredibly reliable and truly a genuine guy. I would recommend him HIGHLY!

What a gem Danny is– honestly as good as it gets.
Professional is an understatement.
He came to check out our chimney for a chimney sweep (we thought we needed), but it turns out, the chimney was fine and we didn’t need one, we had just been putting too much wood into the fireplace which was causing the excess smoke.
I called about a dozen places, and non of them were able to come the next day, except for Danny (which I’m very glad I came across). He is very accommodating, honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy and sincere.
I feel as if we would have used another company, they would have ripped us off and charged us for something they would claim we need to do.
Without any hesitation, Danny told us we didn’t need to do anything and there was no charge since it was a consultation.
