La Quinta Inn & Suites Santa Clarita – Valencia

I usually stay at La Quinta as I find the rooms to be clean and comfortable, and my dogs stay free. I’am currently 8 months pregnant and traveling across the country and of all the La Quintas I have stayed at this one is my favorite. The lobby is stylish and very clean, even better so are the rooms. Our king room was very spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable– being very pregnant that’s saying a lot! There were many options for breakfast, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s plenty of grassy areas for pets to potty. If I ever find myself this way again I would gladly stay here.

A nice place but I made the mistake of giving them my real e-​mail address for confirmation and business use. They handed my e-​mail address to «Epsilon Interactive» mass-​mail service and now I keep getting spam for this hotel. General Manager Sue Nevius has been a strange person to deal with and there is still no solution after nearly two months. This is both insulting to customers and illegal.

Amazing! We picked this specifically for their pet policy. There was no extra charge for the pet, just an additional security deposit. The room was very modern and clean. The sink didn’t drain well, and the walls were thin enough for us to hear the kids banging on the air conditioner and door handles in the next room, but we dealt with it, nothing’s perfect. Anytime we need to travel with our pet this is going to be the go to spot.
You aren’t allowed to leave your pet in the room alone, and all floors are pet friendly unlike most hotels that designate 1 floor for all the pets.

Never had a bad stay at a La Quinta Hotel. I’ve stayed at this one twice now, and it didn’t disappoint.
Room was clean and met my expectations. Breakfast was very good, and staff was friendly and helpful. I didn’t give it 5 stars only because the elevator is kind of a pain, there is one main elevator off the lobby (I was told there was another one somewhere in the building) and it’s pretty slow with all 4 floors of guests using it, same thing with breakfast room. Pretty small room to accommodate size of hotel but this is common with a lot of hotels. Overall it was a very good experience and I’d stay again.
Oh and they are pet friendly. We didn’t have our pup with us on this trip, but wouldn’t hesitate to bring her with us next time.

After booking a king size room. I get to the hotel and was offered a double and told the king room tv didn’t work. After a full day of work and 2 ½ drive thru LA and an early departure I didn’t care if the TV didn’t work. I opted for the king in which I reserved (I had. cancel my reservation at the Hampton Inn next door, due to price gouging +$ 175/​night).
When i got to my room I immediately noticed the smell of cheap perfume (like a $ 5 hooked had just been there), the bed linens looked like they had just been used, trash still in trash cans. The last straw was the public hair in the sink and tub and the urine and poop stains on the toilet.
The last thing I wanted to do was change rooms or hotels. Never the less, I went to the front desk and asked for the manager. Suprise! No manager available. The young man offer to change rooms, I didn’t have much choice. I ended up with a double bed and the room still stunk. Remarkably the clerk announced that I would not be charged anything extra, image that.
I won’t stay in this hotel again. Do yourself a favor and stsy… As in STAY AWAY. Don’t stay in this hotel.

If it was possible to give this place 0 stars I would. Adam the «night auditor» is rude and disrespectful. I had many issues now trying to deal with this hotel and it’s a waste of time. Your better off going through Priceline and getting 4 star hotels with 2 beds for closer to 100 $ than even paying the 169.00 they charge for 1 king bed. From experience I rather stay at the higher class hotels and MAYBE pay a little more than deal with the headaches this hotel gave me. BEWARE! They will hang up in your face when you try and deal with any issues as well as tell you like Adam told me that they let new employees not even trained in their companies policies deal with your transactions. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. They employees actions are disgusting. PLEASE!!! DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE HEADACHE! THIS COMPANY IS DISGUSTING!

I was quoted 99.00 when I walked in and had an AARP card. When I read copy later I was charged 125.10 I called and was basically told too bad that the guy who quoted me the price on the phone was wrong, I didn’t call I came in person. The A/​C in the room made loud dying noise all night. Sounded like a wounded elk. Then when I left this morning the young girl with long straight hair was in a foul mood. She put my copy on the counter and walked off, I said Thank you, and she said yeah. WOW over charged, loud A/​C and rude help. Maybe in the future I should be thanked not the other way around. I will not be staying here again, there are LOTS of places in your town. Maybe your customer service and prices should be made over. There is a lot of competition and you just lost a regular have your help take a Midol before coming to work, and clean the wax out of your ears when you quote a price

A really beautiful hotel in Santa Clarita, 50 miles north of L.A.
Location is very close and convenient to Six Flags — Magic Mountain. The hotel offers spacious and nicely decorated rooms. Free breakfast in the morning with pastries, eggs, bacon fruits, waffle maker, cereals… breakfast is offered til 10.
In the back of the building is the quietly located pool with spa. This area is equipped with nice garden furniture. A perfect place to relax after a day in the theme parks.
Easy access to I 5 within seconds.
In the surrounding are lots of shops and restaurants, including outback steak house, In n out Burgers (both in walking distance), Denny’s, Chili’s, … and many more. For shopping there is a huge Walmart just a minute drive away.
The staff was very friendly, especially Chelsea from the registration gave us a warm welcome every time when we came in. It was always nice to talk with her, when she had the time.
The only «negative» was the wifi. Sometimes it was off, was working only now and then.

I absolutely love this hotel. It’s so clean and fresh which is so hard to come by without paying an arm and a leg. The staff is super nice and helpful and the location is prime as anything you need is close by! Already my second stay in 3 months and I plan on staying here any other time in the area.

Great hotel. Great service. Great everything. Everything was close to us, it was great. Breakfast was very good and the service. Next time I’m in town I will be back!

My family was visiting from out of town and needed a pet friendly hotel. This is the place to go! From the moment we walked in everyone was so friendly and sweet. The place is super clean for being pet friendly. They have a great breakfast. They are right next to In-​N-​Out and only a short drive to all restaurants and attractions. Great place for a great price

I had a fantastic experience here last time in 2012 — this time not so much. With prices up, it’s less of a bargain than before.
The check-​in clerk wasn’t that great — he didn’t even tell me about the breakfast until I asked — nor did he tell me about wifi access (which doesn’t require a log-​in).
The desk now only has one electric outlet readily available; the shower faucet is mis-​labeled (turn to «cold» and hot water comes out), and apparently they’ve had a problem with guests hanging clothes from the fire water nozzles in the middle of the ceiling.

Let’s be honest people… this is a budget hotel and it is fantastic. The rooms are immaculate and newly renovated. They are well designed too. The continental breakfast was great, too. Most hotels in this price range have shitty cereal and luke-​warm coffee. La Quinta had waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, oatmeal, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, potatoes, coffee, and a plethora of juices. What more could you ask for? The eggs were admittedly a bit watery, but throw some salt and pepper on them and they are very satisfying. This hotel blew me away, especially for the price.

Allowing for the fact that this is a lower budget hotel, we had a fantastic experience. We just needed a quick place to crash on our way to San Francisco and relied on Unilocal reviews to pick our hotel. The lobby was under renovation but that was the only real «issue.» The rooms were styled like an upscale LA boutique hotel. Everything was new and clean — but the BED was amazing. I have hip and back problems and this bed seriously was the most comfortable bed ever.
Again, five stars acknowledging that it’s a La Quinta and not a W. For a «cheap» hotel, we were really happy. (That said, they need better coffee)

Wonderful place. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, great tv channels, and easy to park a car with a trailer. The breakfast was really nice (the best I’ve experienced in a long while) with a pot of fresh oatmeal and hot potatoes (a nice surprise for vegans who just eat bagels and instant oatmeal at hotels). A variety of juice too, with a tropical passion fruit guava juice.
The only con was there was no «do not disturb» sign to hang up, but that was really the only thing. This place is definitely worth the $ 100ish bucks you pay.

Soooooo… customer service in a hotel I thought was a normal amenity. no?
I had made reservations months ago.
Yes it’s Thanksgiving week but I also am paying for 3 nights.
2 things that should have given me a better room when I pulled in AND after 2 days of driving 1000 miles.
Soooooo you get nothing special for making reservations way in advance?
I had asked for a quiet room.
I was surrounded by anything but.
There was the staff quarters right across from us.
Then there was the laundry room where the said staff go.
I could see the pool from my window — noise?
We were right around the corner from the lobby.

Oh but wait. is this the — you have a dog thing so you don’t deserve to be in any other room? (seen this movie before in another less than stellar hotel)
I went to the front desk and ‘nicely’ asked for another room. Tomorrow they said due to the capacity because of said holiday. OK I’ll buy it.
This next room is also on the bottom floor all the way at the other end. I could hear dogs barking from every room. It also led directly outside where you take your dog to do his business –so constant traffic.
I spoke to the front desk again and he said — oh let’s put you upstairs in the newer area?
Wait what?
Sooooo you’ve been holding out on me about this «newer» area… because,
wait, the dog right?
About 2 am in the morning I could hear someone heaving furniture? heavy equipment? body slamming? against our walls.
Only reason to give stars is for free breakfast/​free wifi (though I view those as just part of what I paid for) and a decent space for dogs to do their business. Never again!

For middle of the road hotels, this is up there. It’s not the W or the Four Seasons, but they don’t charge extra for well-​behaved dogs, they include breakfast which is your usual freebie breakfast-​army-​sized pan of scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, melon/​orange/​pineapple fruit salad, Yoplait (which is NOT yogurt), reconstituted frozen juices, waffles. The breakfast I’d rate a 2 out of breakfasts I’ve known, but if you want a better breakfast, go out to eat at a restaurant.
Sis and I stayed in one of the new rooms which are so cute. New beds, new décor, with a sort of Pottery Barn inspiration. Sis mentioned that if the room were located in another city (like NYC or Paris) the room could easily go for 3 or 4x what we paid. Liked the wood floors since carpeting is pretty gross when you think about it. The room was quiet and I slept well. Didn’t hear out neighbors. The front desk staff was friendly as usual.
The only issue we had this trip (for women alone or traveling with other women) were the construction guys oogling in the elevator and in the breakfast area-​guys, tone that down, you’re at work and you’re making us uncomfortable!

The hotel was nice, the front desk people were great and the breakfast was pretty bad. Other than the breakfast I really liked this hotel.
I was looking forward to hot food, but the eggs they were serving were sitting in about a half an inch of water. The bread was so stale that it felt like toast before you toasted it. They did have bananas and some nice warm ham, so it wasn’t a total loss.
Good value for the price overall.

We had an enjoyable stay here a few month ago for 3 – 4 nights. Nice place, great rooms, welcomed our dogs, great breakfast. The only problem I had was with the Guest Rewards. With all the other LQs we stayed at on the road trip, we were able to easily convert the rewards to another company. This is the only one that wasn’t able to make the process happen.
When we checked in, we asked the front desk staff to call the Rewards number to be trained on how to make the switch since they were rejecting the notion that it could be done. Somehow, the process didn’t complete.
Overall, the stay was fine and I’ll probably stay there again but I won’t go in expecting to get the reward transfer that I do with all the other LQs.
