Hyatt Regency Valencia

I usually have issues with the poorly trained staff here but this is the last straw. My wife and I have been trying to make reservations via the phone for 20 minutes. Someone picks up the phone and hangs up, over and over. The front desk doesn’t handle the reservations and told us to recall the reservation number. Finally the front of house said she would get ahold of someone in-​house that could help us… we got an answering machine. I expect more from a Hyatt property. Shame on you!!!

The room was nice and comfy. No problems at all; for the price and the stars I would have expected a little more posh. The balconies are all shared and I don’t think it’s worth paying the extra money for that.

When my fiancé and I are staying out of town, we like to book places through Hotwire. Pretty much you can get a nice hotel room at a nice 4 – 5 star hotel at a much cheaper price. The «catch» is that you don’t know WHICH hotel you get until you pay for it. This hasn’t been much of an issue for us as we just select a 4 star hotel, where we’re guaranteed to have a good/​decent time lol. So far each time has been awesome!
Anyway, our friend was celebrating his birthday at Six Flags and being lazybutts… my finace and I didn’t want to spend the morning driving to LA, spending all day at Six Flags, and then doing the drive home. SO! We decided to have a nice little retreat and stay at a hotel instead.
First and foremost, this hotel is 4 – 5 minutes away from Six Flags… so that was pretty awesome. The location is great, it’s right by a bunch of different restaurants and shops, and is within walking distance to a mall. Nice! One thing we like is to choose a place that doesn’t require valet and where we can park our car ourselves. The Hyatt has a HUGE parking lot perfect for this. The Hyatt itself is also quite huge. We got lost trying to find the front desk lol.
The front desk was really helpful checking us in and our room was actually pretty nice. Because we got it through Hotwire, we didn’t get the «best» room (right next to the elevator, so we could hear people coming and going constantly), but it was very clean and had beautiful interior. Nothing to really complain about.
Since we’re not out of town that often, we typically splurge while we’re at a nice hotel aka get room service for at least one night/​occasion. The Friday night we arrived we decided to go with a seafood risotto that we could share. Everything arrived in a timely manner and was decent. It was still warm, the seafood was fresh, and the person who dropped it off was really sweet. I’ve had better risotto, but food is food, so I won’t gripe about it (too much).
The bed we slept in was pretty comfy. Even though we had a room that was right by the elevator, we had a beautiful view of all the surrounding shops below. Unfortunately we never really got to explore/​check those places out, but maybe we will next time!

BEWARE OF HOUSEKEEPING IF YOU STAY HERE!!! I stayed here recently for two nights and I have to say it is a very beautiful hotel. However, I put some valuables in the safe before I was going to head out and right before housekeeping was going to service the room. To my dismay, I had not properly closed and locked the safe and when I returned to my room I sadly discovered that the safe door was slightly ajar and $ 500 in cash had been taken. I spoke to management about it and they showed concern in person and said they would investigate and contact me, which I still have not heard any update on the matter. I know the situation is a difficult one to rectify, but I at least expected some proper and adequate course of action! It’s so unfortunate because the rest of the staff is phenomenal and I actually enjoyed my stay until this point, but I will never be returning.

As a normal course of action when we’re in the area for Ice Hockey Tournaments, we always stay at this Hyatt Regency Valencia; which is about three (3) or four (4) time a year over the last ten (10) years. Staying at Hyatt Regency Valencia has always been a conundrum; because there has always been something weird going on at this hotel. Last time it was a professional boxer’s party and about 10 scary looking gangster types, openly carrying guns in the lobby. We were relegated to stay in our rooms for safety purposes. The time before, the elevators were broken and the time before that, several cars were broken into because the parking structure is dark and scary. Service at Hyatt Regency Valencia has never been polite as customer service does not appear to be a priority.
Today, about three minutes ago: I tried to make reservations at Hyatt Regency Valencia and the automated answering was difficult for me to hear; the nature of the questions allowed were limited; so, I selected to speak with someone (at 8AM). After waiting seven minutes, a person who sounded like I just woke them up; answered the telephone; and seemed put-​out that he needed to answer a few of my questions about reservations. The Hyatt Regency employee’s telephone conduct was a clearly received; ‘I don’t give a shit’ voice, with a blend of: otiose, and could careless demeanor; suggesting he was too busy to answer the telephone. I ended the call and called Hilton Garden directly and booked my reservation there in three minutes (FYI (added three days later) my stay was outstanding at the Hilton).
So, for the first time in ten (10) years, I am not booking with Hyatt Regency Valencia at $ 167 a night and made reservation with Hilton Garden Inn Valencia at $ 107 a night (same days) who actually sounded over the telephone that they wanted my business. Full disclosure: Never stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Valencia before and will write a review on my stay next week.

I stayed here for about a week on a business trip and was very pleased with everything. The great amenities and friendly staff made it easier to be away from home. I find myself relaxing in the hot tub or wandering around the beautiful grounds after work for relaxation. The hotel even boasts a fairly good restaurant, which I prefer to any other place in the area. My one minor complaint is that the rooms need to be updated: the iHome in the room were for the iPhone 4, so it’s quite outdated!

Great location, with good restaurants within walking distance and only a 50 minute drive to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. Moderate pricing helped us avoid the crowd there and inflated prices! Our room was spacious and very clean!

Locked out of the room two days in a row. Hair in the bathtub, hair on the wall. Lights flickering and then out, felt like I was in the movie Psycho. Advertised quiet floor, we were on the party floor, empty classes of wine left by the elevators. Needless to say we were miserable. never again.

2 Stars is my attempt to be generous here. The grounds are beautiful, the location was perfect for us but the stay was seriously lacking. We booked this room (and a few more adjacent) through Expedia for a short stay. We had a Family Reunion weekend. We attempted to check in slightly early (about 3pm) and were told only 1 of our 2 rooms was available. So my family and my sisters family headed up to her room to get ready for our reunion and we were told they would send someone up ASAP with the other room key. Well, they forgot about us… After three calls to front desk and at 4:15pm we finally got keys. I’m in customer service so I get things happen. No biggie, we threw our things in the room without a second glance and headed to the reunion. Later that evening we returned and got a closer look at the room. What we found was disgusting. Blood stains on a pillow and some other «substance» on the comforter. Under any other circumstance, I would have packed up and moved but it was now 12am and I had two small kids passed out. So I stripped down the beds, Stole a few pillows from my sisters room and tried to get some sleep without worrying about what else was lurking in the sheets.
The next morning rolls around and we attempt to get breakfast from the restaurant downstairs. Long story short, they skipped us once and we stood up front waiting for assistance for a good 15 min, plus. No hello, No be right with you… It was as if we weren’t there at all. When we were finally seated, Breakfast was ok and the server was at least pretty attentive.
Finally, upon check out I waited around to chat with front desk and showed her pics of the stuff in our room. She did apologize and promised to call me later (we were in a hurry) and let me know if there was anything she could do to «make up» for the inconvenience. (Which I appreciated) Long story short, it’s been 7 hours and no word. I don’t care, I am not looking for any compensation but customer service is lacking here. Just call your customer back and make sure they know you care. A dirty room is disgusting and kind of a big deal!

Not only a great place to eat but a beautiful pool area for guests. Best location in town. I send all my friends to this exceptional Hyatt property. Happy Hour unusually affordable at this hotel.

If my family and I would give 0 stars we would for this Hyatt location. We’ve been coming to Hyatt hotels for many years. My parents made a reservation at this location. Unfortunately the manager who apparently doesn’t know his job gave our rooms away. Who does that? You’re suppose to be professional and know the business working here. We were coming to the hotel around 12:40 from a long day driving for hours expecting some nice fluffy cotton pillows. The man in the front desk only apologized and didn’t help at all! Very unpleased with this Hyatt location hotel. You make other Hyatt hotels look bad… Hyatt is a big name, but with these kind of mistakes. Trust me you will downgrade. Coming from a business family, we know all about business. Many people will find this unbelievable coming from Hyatt… Watch out Pritzker family some of your employees are trying to ruin your reputation.

Rooms are always clean, great proximity to a ton of restaurants. There is a wine bar just out the door which has great food and wine. It can be challenging to get the attention of the waitstaff at the bar, but once you do and tip a couple of times they are on it. They make a great burger and have happy hour which is just okay. Good place to stay on business.

I have been staying at the Hyatt Valencia (approx.) several times a week Excellent location and the rooms are acceptable.
The management needs to be more attentive to training their staff to satisfy customers. The bellman is too involved in areas he’s shouldn’t be involved with, e.g. telling the desk agent where and how to do a room assignment; being confrontational with customers; creating a hostile enviroment (seeking a physical altercation); and being disrespective to customers!!! Due to the above’s recent observation and unprofessional behavior. Hopefully the company will provide better customer service skills to their employees.

Loooooooove this place!!! I wanted to get away for a weekend and I am SURE I’ll be back. Their customer service is astounding; I’ve never felt so happy to spend my money! We received a personalized card, champagne and strawberries by our host (Nancy). It was beyond amazing, and you bet we’ll be back soon! Also, everything is so clean! We stayed in the business suit, so I was able to study on our desk for a couple hours resting to go downstairs to the wonderful pool area. Everything is walking distance from this hotel.

It’s a very pretty property. Rooms are large and we’ll maintained. Pool area is very nice. Outdoor fireplace is a nice touch.
Staff are friendly. Parking is free, but gets tight if you arrive late. The only negative is that they do not treat their gold passport guests as well as other hyatts.

I absolutely love staying here. The rooms are comfy cozy. Beautiful and business at the same time. The desk people are super sweet. The pool is fantastic.
Happy Hour in the louse is AMAZING, we had the calamari, Asian Wings and Sliders. All were so good, I couldn’t believe it. $ 6 each from 4 – 7. Cocktails for $ 5 as well.
I will he glad to stay here again and again.

We’ve stayed here multiple times and have never had any problems. The location is excellent, with close proximity to Magic Mountain and a great neighborhood vibe. The check-​in process has been smooth, the rooms have been clean and odor-​free, and the beds have been comfy. Their pool and courtyard is spotless and lush, and we haven’t had any problems with service, but we haven’t made any special requests, either.
We haven’t been to the hotel restaurant, but the room-​service food isn’t great. Additionally, last time I was here there wasn’t a «Do Not Disturb» sign in our room, so we had to fashion one ourselves.
Yes, I expect to be back if I need to stay in Santa Clarita again.

Really Unfortunate…
For such a great location and fine name, I expect more.
My corporate rate was not honored, as they claimed they were booked solid. You can imagine my surprise when they accommodated me to an interior room versus a room on the street side immediately after negating my discount.
The location [across from Town Center] is fantastic; walking distance to all kinds of shopping and dining.
The wine selection at Vines Restaurant & Bar is mediocre at best.
The fitness center is complete with non-​operational (bikes & treadmills), old/​deteriorated, and missing equipment (see photos; not enough battery for a flash). Poor WiFi connection, no charging stations for phones (in 2015???), and the USB ports on equipment only allow for transfer, not charging. I recommend a complete overhaul of the fitness center to replace a missing TV, bring in equipment that actually works, and update the area for modern needs and conveniences.
They do have clean/​new headphones if you forget yours, but since the «early morning» guy at the front desk wasn’t aware of this, I went without headphones for most of my workout. It was toward the end of my efforts that I spotted a small basket in the fitness center with headphones. This should be a simple fix — Information to all employees.
Fee self-​parking was convenient. Valet parking available.
My room was nice, quiet, and cozy, though the blanket available from the closet looked like something they took from grandma’s house or something the dog uses to keep warm.
I expect more from the Hyatt Regency.

Unprofessional Staff at check in. would not address concerns and tried to place me in a lower quality room I didn’t pay for.

Mold in bathroom on ceiling.
Only reason even one star was the attitude of the housekeeping staff and the engineering guy that helped fix the bed. Great professional attitudes and made things a little bit better.

Maybe it was the sparsely appointed rooms that set me off (Two double beds is the best this place could do… no double queen size beds!).
Or perhaps it was the children running on the balcony that connected to my (and others) room, shouting vulgarities at the top of their lungs that really upset me.
It might even have been the lousy parking, the high prices, the terrible Wi-​Fi that caused me to give this place two stars.
To be honest, it’s all of those things and more.
I know this: I won’t be back. There are other choices in Santa Clarita and this was very, very disappointing!
