A & J Tires

Service is ok, but its overpriced.

I expected to see a much higher rating for this place. I’ve been coming here the past 6 years and would recommend it to anyone. In fact I know a bunch of people who always use a&j. Now, you have to know what they’re good for. If you need to repair a tire, or are looking to buy a good used tire, this is your place. I get used run-​flat tires which always need to be replaced after New York winters.
As for the owner that a few people have commented on, I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with him. The staff (who work very hard) have always been fine to deal with.
They’re open 7 days a week! That’s big. $ 15 to repair a tire, $ 45 for a used tire, $ 60 for a used run-​flat. That’s really all you need to know.

Been here many times, prices fair, quick service highly recommend, so why not five stars??? Service not so friendly could be a bit more polite, example they get a bit frustrated if you park in the wrong spot but they don’t direct you as where to park

Been going to this place for years and always received bad customer service and a bad attitude from the owner every time I go there. You would think you would get a «hey how are you» or some kind of greeting any business would give a long time customer. This guy also rips you off. They charge an extra $ 5 for 2″.So you think it’s $ 15 but that’s for a 16″ tire a 18″ tire is $ 20. I like patching my tires instead of just plugging it but I just don’t like this guy and his horrible attitude toward customers. I told my wife I’m done I will not go there anymore I’d rather go somewhere else then to deal with this guy.

Couldn’t complete aligment and still charged me for it. Then tightened my lugs so tight that I couldn’t get them off. Then when I called and asked if I can come down so they can loosen them, told me no it’s my problem. Half a** job. The cheaper way out is the more expensive way out…

Was in and out in under 15 minutes with a replaced used tire for $ 50. Spare was back in the trunk and the guy tested the other tires as well. Can’t beat that.

The best place to get tires, hands down. I frequently come here to get used run flat tires for my bimmer and for $ 65 you can’t beat this place! The service is fast and they will pick a used tire in good condition to put on your car instead of getting ripped off at the dealership. Today I got a flat in NJ and my grandparents in SI picked me up a used tire from these guys to bring to me and they treated them with respect which I appreciate very much.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!! I got new rims here, and since I’m a girl they thought they could take advantage of me and be crooks. They took my old tire and gave me one with barely any meat. I just noticed on my car that three tires are the same and one is different with not a piece of meat on the tire. They actually stole one of my tires and gave me a old used one!!! Also, when I first got the rims on my steering wheel was shaking out of control when I was going over 40 mph. I went back and they were very nasty saying oh the wrong tires are on the wrong wheels… Seriosuly wtf? NEVER EVER going to this place again. Did I mention they are the nastiest people in the world aswell?

I have been there to fix slow leaks and to get new and used tires… I do not live on Staten Island anymore so I haven’t been to their store in a whle…

I’ve used their services twice and have not been disappointed either time. My first time here, I had a nail stuck in my tire causing a small air leak. They were unable to seal the leak, but I was able to purchase a replacement used tire for $ 45. That was about a year ago and no issues with that tire since. About a week ago my low air alert went off. When I tried to put air in the tire at the gas station, it wasn’t taking any air and was practically flat. I started to panic a little because I had somewhere to go, and made a pit stop at A&J in hopes of getting the issue resolved. It turns out that one of the massive pot holes I inevitably ran into at some point caused some significant damage to my rim. They were able to correct it using a blow torch to put it in the correct shape. $ 45 later and I was on my way in about 25 minutes with a full tire. The woman next to me had her flat sealed for $ 15. There were about half a dozen people in and out while I was there, all getting leaks sealed or replacement tires. For me, it sure beat having to go buy a new rim.

Not bad I’d you need a quick tire patch. They are very fast and prices are reasonable. There is no waiting area so if its a bad weather day you’ll be standing outside while the fix your tire.

Can I give 0 stars??? This place ripped me off! I went in expecting to get a new used tire. Instead I drive out with the same tire on my car. JUST REVERSED! The guy patched it on the inside. It cost me 70 dollars and obviously didn’t hold for more than a couple days that’s why I’m writing this review. I try to go back there and he says there is nothing he can do. That I have to buy another tire! WHAT??? I lost my mind. So I had to leave before things would’ve gotten out of control. This isn’t the first time he has ripped someone off. I’ve asked around and know a friend that also went there and he got 2 dry rotted tires, again that didn’t last more than a month. Long story short, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, THE OWNER IS A CROOK! And will steal your money.
