Checkered Flag Taxi Cab

Wouldn’t pick me up because I was going on base. That’s ridiculous. Would give them zero stars if I could.

$ 95 to DCA from Dumfries (30.4 miles according to my GPS) So EXPENSIVE! Taxi did arrive within 15 min, so that was good. Although the AC was on, it was still so hot, not a pleasant ride at all. Paying with a card was a nightmare, had to talk to someone hard of hearing on the the drivers phone :(not a good experience with this Taxi

I called this taxi company to pick me up from the hospital to my home. The gentlemen that picked up said he’d be 15 – 20 minutes. It took him ½ hour. There was no markings on this red Prius to indicate it was a taxi. But I was in the hospital all night & it was thanksgiving morning so I wanted to go home. There was no meter or credentials saying it was a taxi service. For all I knew it was a random guy saying he was a taxi company. I live a mile ½ away. When we arrived at my home I asked what the total was because there wasn’t a meter. He said 12 $. That’s steep for a 2 minute ride. I hand him my card to which he says cash only. He took me to 711 around the corner. I took cash out. I asked him why no meter, no taxi markings, no credentials he said he Doesn’t need that is Stafford. I was upset & said how did I know he wasn’t just naming whatever price he wanted. He then stops in the middle of the street yelling at me. I told him to take me home Bc we were close & it was ridiculous. He then tells me he didn’t want my $. I shoved it in the cup holder & got out. Rude. Late. Unprofessional. & sketchy.

We had an urgent medical appointment in DC which required for us to be picked up at 5:20am. We had made arrangements for this company to pick us up and was assured that the driver would be at our home 5 minutes before.
However, on the day we needed them, not only did the driver not show up. We had to call the owner after about 20 minutes and was then told that the driver would be there in 10 minutes.
We ended up having to drive ourselves to the appointment as the driver did not show up after 30 minutes.
Definitely DO NOT recommend their services. When it comes down to the wire, they bail out.
