Beringer Vineyards

Their vineyard was very beautiful and well kept. There are many places to sit and to enjoy the beautiful view. The only regret was had was that we visited in Feb when there were no grapes on the vines.
It’s unfortunate that Beringer was recently named one of the wines who are currently being sued for overly high levels of Arsenic in their wines. Hopefully, this proves to be false as many members of my family drink Beringer wines.

Beringer is one of my favor wineries in Napa. Enjoyed its tour and wine collections.

The tour is pretty expensive $ 30 for a 30 min tour with 3 tastes. Grandma is pretty mad that you don’t get to keep the glass. I was disappointed that they don’t show the production facility. It’s beautiful facility but I was just disappointed in the cost for what you get.

This is a lovely Place to visit in Napa. They have a huge area and beautiful surroundings. The gardens trees are well maintained.
We were celebrating our 3^rd Wedding Anniversary in Napa on ¹²⁄₁₀ while visiting Beringer.
We did not take the tour and decided to do a self tour. But we did the 25 $ wine tasting for 3 wines. We did both the Red and White wines tasting for $ 50. The wines were good. We ended up buying Chenin Blanc 2013. They have have two different tasting rooms and two gifts shops as well.
Overall it was amazing and we would definitely love to come back again!

So I am a bit biased when it comes to Beringer since my dad has been working here for over 30 years and this is kinda where I grew up. All wines whether red, white, rose, sparkling, sweets, or reserved are amazing and always have been. Though there are plenty of trendy wineries all over the valley you cannot go wrong with the classics especially this one.
Ambiance: This is more of your classic Napa Valley winery (I mean come on it was one of the first) A beautiful property that provides a perfect backdrop for any wine tasting afternoon. Total score: ⁵⁄₅.
Service: Great staff in every tasting room. Make sure to ask for Edwardo the guy knows his wine and has been at Beringer for ages. Total Score: ⁵⁄₅.
Price: Amazing wine for any price range. Total Score: ⁵⁄₅.
A must stop if you are in town for a few days.

It was such a beautiful winery. I loved wine tasting in the Rhine house the people were knowledgeable and the wine was delicious. Oh and of course the cheese was delicious as well. You can walk around the grounds and see some of the vineyards without a tour which was defiantly nice. My boyfriend even became a club member which in that case you get free wine tasting in the Rhine house and in the old wine room. We will defiantly be returning next year.

First time in Napa and we were able to get a private tasting with Michelle in the Rhine house.
I’m pretty sure from our drive that every winery and their grounds are just absolutely beautiful.
When we first arrived and parked, we checked in at the welcome center where they called our tour guide to meet us in front of the Rhine house. It’s a little bit of a walk and we had Michelle waiting for us outside.
She promptly introduced herself to all of us individually and brought us into the Rhine house for a tour. The house with all of its original stained glass and floorings was very beautiful. This house has a lot of history and I loved the fact that we were able to do a tasting in what once was a baby’s nursery on the second floor. On top of that, hearing the ghost stories gave this house a little bit of a fear factor lol.
Michelle was quite knowledgeable and knew her stuff! She could tell just from smell that the first wine we were about to partake in was corked. That means that the wine was spoiled and would taste like crap. So she graciously poured us a new glass.
She went over how to properly taste and the point system for wine ratings. But I most liked her personal touch with random stories, she was a fun guide that we had an absolute pleasure touring with.
After the Rhine house, she took us to the shop for drinks or snacks for purchase. Then moved onto the caves for more history behind the beringer vineyards. After that we split off from our tour and moved to the gift shop for more wine tasting and shopping of course.
If you’re in Napa, this is a winery worth stopping for.

We made a tour and tasting reservation for 10:30am. It was a fairly larger group, but we got to experience everything in its entirety very well. The tour started with a history of the Beringer family and the property. We were then guided into a part of the caves where they provided us a barrel tasting. Afterwards we were led to the house where we had sit down tasting paired with cheese and dried fruit and tasted 3 or 4 wines, I believe. Afterwards we were guided into the front of the house where we could partake in another tasting — more of the reserve wines — and also to walk through the gift shops. The second floor of the property is off limits unless you reserved a private party or tasting for a group. The reserve wine tasting was optional. They also have a wine club, but we didn’t participate since we can get many Beringer wines at home.
It is definitely a winery worth visiting at least once when in Napa.
Highly recommend going to the Culinary Institute afterwards for lunch before going to the next winery since its next door to Beringer’s.

My friends and I were in Napa for some wine tasting Labor Day weekend and decided to sign up for the Legacy Cave Tour since it was our first time at Beringer.
The tour lasted about 30 minutes and included 3 tastings. Our tour guide John Henry was amazing! Best part of the tour. He was funny, knowledgeable, and attentive to everyone in the group. He had no trouble answering all our questions and even stayed behind after to help us choose a wine for our friend.
The tour itself was a bit disappointing. We walked a short distance passing by some wine barrels as we were educated about Beringer history. Learning about the history was cool but I guess I expected to see more or learn more about the area we were walking through? We mostly just looked at photos or tasted wine. Not exactly the type of cave tour I was anticipating.

My friends and I came here for a private wine tasting and were blown away by the service our Wine Club Ambassador was such a sweetheart. She was able to teach us the basics of wine tasting, how wine changes when you pair it with food, and what the point system means. It was also really nice to be able to do the tasting in the beautiful Rhine House (the entire winery is just gorgeous), although the fact that people say that it is haunted does raise some goosebumps.
And of course the wines here are just fantastic. Definitely a must try.

We did the tour and loved it! I work for Treasury wine estates but have never gone as a tourist. Took my sisters and we had a super fun time and learned so MUCH

Beringer has some beautiful grounds. We came here for a quick cave tour and then went to another house on the property to enjoy dinner. Before dinner, we were able to enjoy wines and some passed apps. The Beringer estate is really relaxing and large so our dinner area was very private. The tour guide said they host 10 weddings a year there too.
Dinner was great, we had a 3 course meal with 3 wine pairings to match. The service was great, wine was constantly being refilled and the food was good. We had a tandoori salmon starter which was really tasty and a large portion for a starter. Then we were given the choice of steak or a vegetarian option. Since I don’t eat steak, I opted for the veggie, Portabello Mushrooms and a ton of other veggies from their garden! I am not vegetarian but I do love any veggie option and this one tasted REALLY good! There was a mix of eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, a grain that looked like farrow. overall so yummy. For dessert we got a chocolate mousse and some cookies. Not my favorite dessert choice but still good. The chef also came out at the end to great all of us.
Overall, everyone in our group enjoyed dinner; however, one disadvantage is the chef will only allow the ENTIRE party to choose 1 veggie option or 1 meat option. Meaning prior to our visit, as a group, 14 us had to make the decision to either eat the veggie option or narrow down their different meat options (lamb, pork, chicken, beef) to 1 option for everyone to eat. It isn’t a very flexible system because you are forced into picking 1 of 2 meal choices. I ended up very happy with my choice but this could be a struggle for a larger group. Also our meal with tour/​wine ended up to be about $ 230 a person which is pretty steep.

I had a pretty nice time when I was at Beringer with the boyfriend. The wine tasting is $ 35 for 4 wines (we opted for the red wines), but we thought that was very expensive. We did end up trying the red wines and and thought they were alright, nothing super memorable. We did love the area outside though. It was such a lovely place to walk around, nicely kept gardens, beautiful buildings, and nice areas all around to sit down and enjoy your glass of wine. The outside area definitely is what gives Beringer a 4 star review from me. We did not do the tour (seemed pricey, and we heard other people who were not impressed). The price for bottles was also prohibitively expensive. Beringer seemed like a very traditional, historic winery but at times seemed a bit stuffy.
The highway right outside Beringer, Highway 29, was super congested even when we were there in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. Those who worked at Beringer said traffic happens quite often even when there is no traffic, construction, etc. we ended up cutting across to the road parallel to Highway 29, which is called Silverado trail, in order avoid traffic on our way to Beringer. So just a heads up.

In 1875, Jacob Beringer purchased 215 acres of land in the hills of Napa Valley and became one of the first wineries in the region. You don’t have to do the math to figure out that they have been here for over a hundred years in beautiful St. Helena.
As mentioned in other reviews, I’m not much of a wine connoisseur and I don’t consider myself on experts on wines. However, we did hold our managers outing here and it was perfect. The previous year, we were somewhere deep in the actual farm under a shade of tree near a man-​made lake and porta-​potties for restrooms so it wasn’t that fun. It was hot, dry, humid and dusty. This place is Disneyland compared to that place.
The estate itself is grand with plenty of parking. We rode on a chartered bus and we had plenty of room to maneuver and unload all of our necessities. The mansion is beautiful and the grounds and garden are well manicured and well maintained.
We brought our own grills for cooking and we had the picnic tables reserved for our group. As for the wine, we had the usual reds and whites for our group and it was more than satisfactory. I only had a glass of red (can’t remember what kind) and drank beer most of the time. That’s just how I roll though. You always have the option of taking their wine tour.
The weather was nice and we were surrounded by trees to cover us from the sun and also provided a nice shade and a cool breeze. The lawn provided us with plenty of room to act like kids again as we played a game of touch football that subsequently turned into full-​blown tackle football.
Overall, it was a fun-​filled event and a stress-​free day that we all could use once in a while.

Not much to say except that the experience is extremely touristy and lacking in personal connection. While I very much appreciated my friend’s graciousness in sharing complimentary tastings with us as a wine club member, the wines themselves were painfully tannic to the point that they just washed out any semblance of other flavors. And at up to $ 165/​bottle, it was simply all bad.
There was a cellar sale going on as well that day with over a dozen wines available in packs of 6 at discounts upward of 80%. With one exception (a solid red blend at less than $ 20/​bottle), they all tasted like they needed to be in order to sell…

After I wrote my original Unilocal review I was invited back to Beringer vineyards during the holidays for a tour and reserve wine tasting with the lovely Michelle as our host. I have to say that this was the BEST wine tasting experience I have EVER had. Yes folks, EVER had.
As I’ve said before, Beringer is one of my favorite wineries of all-​time (their reserve wines are consistently delicious) and they truly ARE running out — so if you like ‘em, buy them now or lose out. And as skeptical I am of «wine clubs,» I actually joined on the spot after this experience. Why? There are two reasons: 1. Because the wines are just amazing and I don’t want to miss out on any new or library releases. 2. The customer service we received from our hostess Michelle was above and beyond anything I have ever experienced as a consumer.
So kudos to you, Michelle, and to Beringer too! We loved everything about our visit and can’t wait to stop by again when we return to the area this summer!

As much as I believe I know a fair amount about wine, I still have a LOT to learn. Beringer is very popular in general. Most of the stuff that I have seen has been on the cheaper end of things though. While in Napa on a rainy Saturday, we stopped here to walk around and do a short tasting. To my surprise, Beringer has 3 different tasting rooms for 3 different kinds of wines. (If I understood the woman at the front correctly). One tasting room is for white wines, one for more in the middle non-​robust wines and then finally at the «stone mansion» you can try deep robust red wines. We are huge red wine drinkers so we opted for walking over to the stone mansion.
The grounds are beautiful. Even with the drizzle, we enjoyed how much color everything had and how well manicured their flowers, trees and various landscapes are. We were one of just a couple groups in the red wine tasting so it made for a quick yet educational stop. The wines weren’t my absolute favorite but they do have a TON of history here. If you’re at all interested in learning about the Beringer Vineyards and how far back they go, you should really stop here. To my recollection, the tasting wasn’t expensive and if you’re on a budget, split a tasting. If I remember correctly, you get to try 4 different wines.

GORGEOUS grounds!!! I would definitely go back here! One of my favorite wineries I’ve been to!
Pros:
–Like I said already… absolutely gorgeous grounds! You can walk around, take pictures, enjoy a bottle of wine outside, etc. Very picturesque.
–They have live music sometimes. There was when we were there. Makes it a fun atmosphere.
–Friendly people. Our taster guy was very helpful, friendly, and professional.
–Napa Neighbor? Taste for free.
–Not too crowded.
–Have a wide range of wine — you can buy a bottle for under $ 15, or you can buy an expensive, nice bottle.
Cons:
–Smaller tasting room, and took a little bit of wandering around to find.
I will definitely be back. And I want to explore more! Highly recommend this winery.

Beautiful vineyard, I could have stayed all day.
$ 20 for some solid tastings. Great live music, large grounds to walk around. And there cheese/​cracker/​olive plate was enjoyable out on one of the patios.
It would be nice though if they gave you tickets for your tastings, rather than having to walk all the way back to same bar to get your 2^nd and 3^rd tastings!

After almost being scoffed at by the lady at Clos Pagase for not having reservations, Beringer offered walk-​in wine cave tours. Exactly what we wanted!
The grounds are enveloped by beautiful, lush greenery and florals. We made it just in time for the last cave tour of the day. It was easygoing with three different wines progressing from outside, inside the cave, then near their gift shop. We ended up staying after the tour for a chocolate-​wine tasting. Claire was oh-​so-​friendly and personable behind the bar.
Great place to delve into being touristy winos.
