The Runaway Plate

Tried The Runaway Plate for the first time this past weekend. The Beef Stroganoff over pasta was creamy and yummy. The Pork Chop with onion & cranberries was delicious; just very slightly overcooked — maybe a minute less on the fire. Side of mashed potatoes was very, very tasty with some chunks of Yukons in there. The green beans were perfectly cooked & seasoned well. The Roasted Root Veggies were delish-​nice and darkly grilled. We found The Runaway Plate to be well priced with good portions and tasty food. Can’t wait to try the steak, Thai curry and the mac&cheese next time. Glad to have a really good locally owned small business in the area. I wish the owners much success!

Love this place. The food is amazing and fast. It’s the best place to go when you don’t have time to make dinner but still want to feed your family a home cooked meal. Highly recommended. Kid approved!

My wife and I visited yesterday afternoon. The food was excellent and portion sizes perfect for us. Service staff friendly and attentive. Will be returning again for sure. Thanks for the experiance!!!

The service is outstanding for this restaurant. The drive through is very fast for this type of food. The menu does change everyday which is a plus, in my opinion. Very clean restaurant. They can be a little overpriced for the portion of food being served. Most of the meats I have eaten at RP are dry and not juicy. Over all is a great place for a good, healthy and fast dinner, just streets away from my house.

I love being able to pick up a home cooked meal instead of having to cook it myself. This place is a great and less expensive then cooking a meal myself. I’m only cooking for one and I hate fast food! I went yesterday for the first time and I couldn’t wait for 3:30pm to come the next day so I could eat there again! Yesterday I got the Étouffée, cilantro rice and Texas potato salad. It was all great! Today I got Korean short ribs with cream corn and coleslaw, very good too! I also got lunch for Monday & Tuesday. I got lasagna with broccoli and Chicken Marsala. I’m so happy to have two home cooked meals for lunch this week!

We tried the feta chicken with carrots, and broccoli tonight. It was flavored very well. Excellent and tasty. The chicken breast was nice and moist, not dry. The portion size was just right. I love that their menu items are mostly healthy, clean eating entrees/​sides. They have a great variety of entrees as well as sides. Home cooked meals without the cooking and cleaning? Yes, please! (And they have a drive thru!)

Everything I’ve tried is excellent– steaks, pork chops, chicken, salads. My favorite is your smother pork chop, your customer service is also excellent. I did attempt to come to your grand opening tonight, but just couldn’t wait, looked successful. I can’t imagine how much hard work that took. Congrats, don’t worry I’ll be back.

This is just up the road from our house. It’s a great place to eat dinner. They are only open 3 – 9, they do not serve lunch. But the that’s probably because they are busy preparing the their meals for dinner. Because everything here is all homemade, no processed stuff here. Excellent food & great service. We have yet to find anything in the menu we don’t like. Check it out!

My family tried The Runaway Plate tonight for the first time, and we’ll absolutely be back! My wife and I both tried the steak, which came with fresh broccoli, and our three kids each tried the lasagna. Our oldest son is a really picky eater, but he ate his entire portion and part of his little brother’s! The steak came with a sesame & soy steak sauce that was really delicious. I really recommend this place — it’s locally owned, the ingredients are fresh, and the portion sizes are smart (satisfying but not excessive).

Been here a few times already. Food taste great! It’s feels like those good home cooked meals your mom would make. Service is quick too! Very restaurant quality, but with a drive through!

Great food! Sampler bar of the whole menu as well to try what you’d like before you buy! Super friendly service — the owner Lina really made us feel at home. Highly recommended!

Quick, convenient, gourmet style food, perfect for the person with a busy lifestyle who doesn’t have time to cook but wants that nice home cooked meal. Prices are reasonable $ 10 – 14. Good portion sizes, not too little yet not too much. Entrees comes with two sides of your choice. Today I tried the chicken cacciatore stew, delish! The chicken was bursting with flavor and so tender, the tomatoey sauce was excellent, not too salty or bland just right. I got mine with rice pilaf and a spinach salad.
Great addition to the area for the folks that live on Rayford/​Riley Fuzzel area! Can’t wait to come back and try more entrees they offer. If you’re in the area give it a try.

This place is becoming my new ‘go-​to’ spot! I was a bit skeptical about the idea of fresh made take-​out dinners that were ready in minutes. Images of dried out buffet food came to mind. But this place has won me over and I am a Foodie! I like to cook but when I am tired and not up for cooking, this place hits the spot! Best part is the convenience of being able to get top quality food with great flavor via a drive thru! This place puts fast food on the go in a whole new category! Love the Diva Salad with it’s tangy delicious dressing! Then there is the STEAK! Yes, I can go get a great tender cut of steak cooked to perfection, topped with truffle oil and mushrooms and pick two sides… and be home in 10 minutes to kick off my shoes with a glass of wine and enjoy a wonderful dinner without the hassle of cooking! I have been trying different sides and they are all delicious but my favorites are the mashed potatoes, cream corn, roasted broccoli sautéed in garlic or the sautéed fresh green beans! Tonight I tried the smothered pork chop and it was ‘melt in you mouth delicious!!! Which prompted me to write this review. Oh… and If you want to really indulge I recommend the chocolate lava cake for dessert! It’s severed warm and is simply Epic! As I sit here and type this review I still can’t believe I can get all this great food via a drive-​thru! I am lucky to live close to the Runaway plate, thanks for making great food ‘Easy’!

I am so glad the Runaway Plate is minutes away from our house. Their prices are reasonable, the food is fantastic, and customer service is above and beyond. Will be going back!!!

Just ate here for the second time with my family. It is amazing how fast you can get a home cooked meal. Also, my daughter has a dairy allergy and they made sure to prepare her meal separately. Great food and great service!

Love Runaway Plate! Always a great experience. Some of my favorites are fresh Salmon, Steak options, Diva salad and yummy desserts! Just can’t go wrong! Love knowing it’s all scratch made. Staff are always so friendly and my puppy even gets a treat when is the car!

My first time here, and I had the chicken pomodoro, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. It was all well seasoned, and large portions.
I will be going back. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Will not rate the stupid road in front of the place, instead just the food. My steak was perfectly medium, the side dishes are well seasoned and done to perfection.
The unusual nature of this fast food/​drive thru /​gourmet food service is somewhat bewildering. Still very new. As with the newness of the road, the business, and the concept, I really hope they make it and can grow beyond just this one.

I don’t know where to start. Very bright and open place with ample parking and even a drive through. Their menu is sorted by day and then there are the every day menu items. We came on a Tuesday and had the Korean BBQ with Apple Cranberry coleslaw and texmex rice, and the Crawfish and shrimp Etoufee with rice and broccoli bacon salad.
Everything was WOW! Portions were just right and the food was all delicious. The Korean BBQ was tender, the Etoufee was flavorful, the sides were excellent. I have a newfound love for coleslaw again.
I can’t wait to come back here. 5+stars
