Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa

This place needs to be updated, inside and out!
The folks at the front desk were super sweet, so were the housekeepers. so the service is great!
Our room was hella dark, dismal and really kind of puts the kibosh on the whole vibe of a lake view ²⁴⁄₇. Would not return unless I heard they did a major upgrade to all rooms.

This place is amazing. My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay there and this being our first time in Tahoe, we had to pick and choose a hotel. Well, we chose the right one. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a large balcony with a lake view. The view was spectacular with amazing sunsets and sunrises. Geese on the water and the lapping lake put us right to sleep every night. The hotel staff was wonderful and was attentive to your every need. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Thank you Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge for a wonderful stay!

This used to be a very nice place right on Lake Tahoe. I don’t know if there’s a lack of caring or financial downfalls, but it is not getting the care it needs. Such a shame. They seem to be making improvements now, so will check back.

We arranged an impromptu group facials day here thanks to Meigh. Despite our last minute request Meigh helped us get appointments and provided champagne as well as use of the sauna and hot tub. We loved every minute of our visit. The facials were excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel pampered. Would absolutely reccommend them

Simple yet very well located, room was clean and cozy with a fireplace. We enjoyed the jacuzzi daily after skiing. There was also a firepit and the hotel were right at the beach. Kevin at the front desk provided us with amazing service and one of the stars in this review is for him :)
Great view of the lake. Breakfast was just ok (could have more fruits and yogurt) so in the mornings we decided to go to Driftwood instead.
Would stay here again.

Great location with spectacular views! The room was clean, decorated nicely in a Tahoe-​esque fashion, and the staff friendly and quite helpful. The only complaint we had was that the bathroom was darkly lit and dingy — it certainly did not meet the standard of the rest of the room. Although it’s an older motel, it was quaint and off the beaten path. It’s right on the lake! The room was warmed by a gas stove which made it quite cozy! We’ll certainly stay here again.

My husband and I got a deal on Groupon for this Lodge for our anniversary. When we arrived we asked for a ground floor room so we could walk right out onto the lake. We arrived right around sunset and when we opened our door to enter the room it took our breath away! What a gorgeous view from across the room looking out on the lake. It was very romantic and peaceful… We also loved that the spa /​Jacuzzi was just steps from our room! We will totally go back to this place and highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Weird to say that about a place to stay? Maybe it’s all the fond memories I have accumulated here. You see, my father was raised in South Shore so growing up we frequently came to Tahoe just so my dad could look around and I could enjoy not being in Vegas! I’m pretty sure I have stayed here over 5 times now and each time has just been incredible. I’ve stayed in both their apartment style rooms and their regular hotel style room. I love the décor, it makes me feel like I’m in a cabin with a perfect view of the lake (yes, lake view people!) I haven’t stayed there one time where I haven’t been blown away by the view you have. The rooms were always clean too! They offer coffee and tea in a room near the main desk. They also have a book located at their front desk filled with great dining options! I found this place to be very affordable too. I stayed here one night with my boyfriend for an anniversary, and as a college student, it was affordable (that’s saying something!). All in all, this is my favorite place. I love going here and I hate leaving. Can’t wait til I can get another trip in :)

I loved this hotel, my wife loved this hotel and my kids loved this hotel and what’s funny is that we all loved it for different reasons.
So keep in mind that I’m a Hilton Honors member and at one time I had 1.7 million points. I have been to 500 hotels in my life so when I say that I loved this hotel I feel it’s saying a lot.
So let’s get to it, the property is located on the lake, my view from the room was of the beach, the lake and the beautiful mountains in the far distance. My room was not that big and truthfully it was that nice. However, the beds are super comfy, the fire place was really nice and the TV had a DVD player hooked up to it so my kids were stoked. The restroom was actually kind of small but damn the shower was nice. Great water pressure and really hot water.
Let’s back up a little, we drive in and the parking lot was full so I parked near the front desk. The girl at the counter was supper nice. She knew my name as I walked in the door. She handed me two room keys, real keys like the old days. The nice girl pointed to a small room where we could get hot coffee and hot chocolate, yes it was cold outside and she saw that we needed something hot. She recommended a parking space and gave us directions to the room. Here is where it gets good, the TV in the room had a problem. Before we even unpacked our bags the nice girl at the counter brought us a new TV and a new cable box. She disconnected and reconnected everything in two minutes and we were up and running.
The next day we woke up to around two feet of fresh powder. The parking lot was already being cleared, some guy was helping guest dig out their vehicles and my kids were staying warm with more hot chocolate. That night we hung out in the very warm outdoor jacuzzi. We took the advice of the staff and went down town for dinner first. Dinner was great and our night in Lake Tahoe was super fun. We get back to the room and the fire place in our room was not working. It was super windy outside and the pilot light was blown out. We called down to the front desk and with in two minutes another awesome employee came up to the room and fixed the fire place. The guy was super nice and that’s when it hit me. Whoever owns this hotel knows how to do one thing right, he or she knows how to hire really good people. From the girl that greeted me with a smile at 10:45 on a freezing cold night, to the guy helping me get the two feet of snow off the top of my truck and to the other guy that fixed our fire place as fast as he could because he knew it was 18° outside.
Down the street there are cheaper hotels, there are bigger hotels and I’m sure there are nicer hotels but because of the awesome staff and their desire to help and please there guest I will stay here again and again that is a promise.
I wish I could give this place SIX stars!

Great location! All rooms have a view of the lake from the balcony. The rooms are pretty decent sized. I spent most of my time out in the balcony though so that didn’t matter much to me. The room comes with the thermostat controlled fireplace which was nice because it was raining/​snowing when we arrived. Very nice and quiet area. ALOT of good food choices near the lodge. We went snowboarding and it’s very close to Heavenly MTN as wel. Overall it was a great experience and the staff was super super nice!

Had an amazing view of the lake from our balcony, the room was perfect, staff were friendly and helpful, location was awesome– my friends and I are planning our next trip to Tahoe already and we definitely want to stay here again!

Very clean, great customer service, great location
But they lose 1 star because of the very thin walls I could hear everything all around me it was hard to sleep sometimes. But I would still come back here just to wake up on the lake every morning it’s beautiful.

This was my first time using Groupon to book a room. I came on a Thursday and left Friday morning, the room was 98 $ total and thru their website was like 130 so I saved not a whole lot but hey something is better than nothing. And for what I payed I left impressed, I loved the room layout, I loved the view, I loved the small pool n hot tub, the firepit and the picnic area with volleyball area. Parking was free and CVS was just 50 feet away. Now this time a year kinda sucked because of the drought we r in but it was still nice the warm was amazing walk and photos were incredible, I will definitely keep this place in mind for my next visit, staff was great and it was just nice n outdoorsy. There are others I may check out but this was nice. And Groupon came thru in delivering what was offered. I recommend looking or booking thru it if you decide to stay where ever here in Tahoe.

Decent property with spectacular views.
The property itself is somewhat outdated… the drapery and bed furnishings could definitely use an upgrade. But they provide a quaint, cabin like feel as all of the furniture is made of wood and there’s even a little fireplace in the corner of the room.
The walls are a little thin. you can hear the murmur of your neighbors and the footsteps of the folks upstairs but for me, all of this can be overlooked because of the great view of Lake Tahoe you can get from your room.
My bf and I enjoyed staying here and made full use of the balcony overlooking the lake. We ate our to-​go dinners, sipped on some beers and enjoyed the sunset as we lounged around on the deck.
We also had a chance to walk around on the private beach just a few steps away from our hotel.
We did our fair share of research before booking this place and it seems like other properties are comparable in terms of how modern the rooms are. It’s no Sheraton or Hilton, but it’s a decent place to stay. We’ll most likely be back.

Excellent location. Can’t beat the views of Tahoe and the beach. Not fancy but the convenience and the nature around you is worth every penny. Every room has a view of the lake.

This place is all about the view. The view and the view. The rooms are nice but a bit outdated and you can feel that the hotel will need a refresh. It’s a bit pricey but you are almost on the lake. Few meters from it. And the view is so stunning and so worth the price. Will go back again in my dream. As that view has no price

We had a room with the lakeview.
Absolutely stunning. It was snowing and cold when we arrived and stayed. Balbijou is kinda hidden and the Tahoe Lakeshore is also kinda hidden.
The room’s view was stunning. There patio is great to have and in the AM, it is great to have that fresh cold air to stretch too. There is an outdoor pool and the beach is THERE!
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and where to go.
Our room had a «fire place» and it got warm pretty quick.
Bathroom was kinda small, but nothing to seriously cry about.
While I say this is somewhat hidden, it is by the main road and walking distance to many amenities.

This hotel was wonderful! Our room had an amazing view of the lake. The staff was fabulous. Shanna and the rest of the staff were professional, courteous, helpful, caring, and just plain fun!
When we needed a mini fridge Shanna was on it and made sure we had one ready and cold before we checked in. Meg even gave us girls a ride to the Smowglobe winter music festival and the casinos! And when we needed our room turned over, the cleaning crew was fast, efficient, and polite.
Our room stayed toasty with the built in fireplace/​furnace, given the extreme weather conditions this stay; (high winds of 40mph and freezing temperatures of 5 degrees Fahrenheit).
The bed was so comfortable, I felt like buying the exact same matress. And the showers were nice and hot. Perfect from after a day of snow play.
My only critic is that the towels were not 100% clean, I recognized some lipstick residue on a couple hand towels.. they smelled a bit too «bleachy» and we’re very rough.. they needed replacement.
I will definitely consider staying here again for my next trip to beautiful South Lake Tahoe!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lodge this past weekend hoping to have the perfect view of the lake. We were so happy that the lodge was everything we expected, actually, it exceeded our expectations. I requested for a room next to the lake and it was delivered instantly. When we walked into our room, we were breath taken by the magnificent view. It was so beautiful! We had a view of the shore, lake, and mountain. It was definitely a sight to remember and waking up every day with this beautiful view definitely made our trip better.
Our room had a small fireplace controlled by the thermostat — it was very cute and romantic. The room was rustic and lodge like, which we enjoyed. The bathroom was small and only had a stand up shower, but we didn’t care. We stayed here for the view, and its close proximity to many great restaurants was very convenient. Everything was in walking distance. We will definitely be back!

Das Hotel ist direkt am schönen Lake Tahoe, mit eigenem Privatstrand. Das Zimmer war mit einer Küche, Mikrowelle und Esstisch ausgerüstet. Ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer. Das Bett war sehr bequem. In der Nacht wurde es kalt, leider konnten wir die Heizung nicht anmachen, da diese einen sehr üblen Geruch hervorbrachte. Ansonsten alles Top. Gratis Parkplatz, gratis Internet, super Lager zum Zentrum.
