Exclusive one-​of-​a-​kind dog friendly cabin rentals in South Lake Tahoe. Completely fenced for safety and fun so your furry friends can have the time of their lives and run free with the other friendly dogs visiting.

Plenty of grassy areas with loungs chairs and picnic tables for relaxing, and even a dog pond for those water loving pups.

The cabins all feature knotty pine and are equipped with either kitchenettes or full kitchens in the larger cabins.

The cozy recreation room has games, movies and plenty of popcorn to enjoy in your cabin or just hang out in the rec room with friends.

History

Established in 1988.

When I stumbled upon this property in Tahoe in 1986 I knew THIS PLACE was PERFECT.

From 1972 to 1994 I traveled all over the Country to craft shows with my dog to sell my handmade leather goods and Lake Tahoe was my favorite area.

I knew the importance of traveling with my dog, so I had the idea of making this property into an oasis for people AND dogs to vacation.

Now after 20 years of sharing this hidden treasure with hundreds of folks, Hollys place remains as peaceful and quaint as it was when it opened. Visitors relish in the warm down home atmosphere where people and their dogs gather as a part of their family to enjoy one of the most beaufiful places on earth. I was born in Pasadena, Ca. and hated the smog, so you can see why I LOVE TAHOE! I ADORE my Partner, my dog, Petie, (he’s a Yorkie).

I love Tahoe and this place and I’m very grateful to my wonderful family for loving me with all my dreams… I can’t imagine doing anything else, and with the help of all my friends and family and the folks who come to Hollys place we will continue to provide excellent service for all who want to keep coming back. This place was amazing. Besides having spotty WiFi, everything was perfect. It felt like home. The feel was very welcoming and warm. The bed was comfortable and this place is located in a great location off the main road yet close enough to get supplies or dine out. Also, sierra is very close as well. The sign is hard to see. So if traveling by night, its a bit difficult to locate this place. Thank you for creating an atmosphere that’s so comforting and homely.

We stayed at Holly’s Place after DogTrekker recommended it. We are so happy we chose to stay there! We stayed in the Tisher cabin which was very cozy and satisfied all our needs. Toby (chihuahua mix) had a great time exploring the grounds and slowly getting to play with other dogs, especially Petie, the Yorkie.
It was very peaceful and serene there, a great getaway from the City. We took the dinner cruise on the lake and Holly & her staff let Toby out of the cabin to play with other dogs, then put him back in the cabin. (How nice!)
Holly and her staff are very friendly and welcomed us as family members. There are probably other dog-​friendly places that are bigger but they are probably too commercial and would lose the valuable family atmosphere that we enjoyed. When it was time to leave, it was like leaving family members to come back home!
I’m looking forward to the next time we can go back to Holly’s Place; I’m sure Toby is too!

Great place to stay with your dog or without… Cabin or rooms available with free access to let your dog run freely and safely on the property without getting out. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Holly is a great hostess have stayed here on numerous occasions. Have dog sitting for a nominal fee if needed… we just tired out our dog and let her stay in the room for 3 hrs to have dinner and everything was fine. Free wifi and satellite tv… complimentary gourmet coffee and in the main room (rainbow room) big screen tv and movies, popcorn and snacks. We had pastries and coffee cake. Very pleasant and safe place off the beaten path yet close to town to bring your dog.

Loved staying at Holly’s Place in the spring time last year with our dog, Apollo. Our room (purple dog) was cozy and warm and supplied with doggie towels and sheets (smart!). We hung out around the fire in the common room one night and roasted s’mores around the fire pit outside another night. Our stay was so absolutely relaxing and we will definitely be returning on our future visits to Tahoe!

Holly’s Place is the perfect place to stay when visiting South Lake Tahoe.
I would stay here even if I did not have my four legged kid. It is tucked away in a perfectly quiet, relaxing setting which just extends the entire Tahoe experience.
They truly welcome you and your dogs. Our guy Dakota loved it here. It was so nice for me to be able to just open the door of my room and let him out without worrying about his safety.
I cannot wait to go back and stay again.

We THOUGHT we had been to dog friendly
hotels, resorts, etc… until we stayed at Holly’s Place! This place is absolutely incredible… can’t find one thing wrong with it. Oh yeah. It snowed on April 5th. Holly… get hold of the weather, please. LOL. But even that turned out well, as our 2 poodle mixes (about 14 – 15 lbs) had just enough snow to jump and play in without sinking to their furry little noses. The Wolves Den cabin was warm and cozy; the Rainbow Room (community room) allowed the 3 couples there that weekend (we actually stayed 4 nights) and our 5 dogs to mingle with plenty of space left over; and property manager/​greeting committee Doug (with help from Amanda… and Wyatt, his soooo friendly Lab) made our stay perfect. And the night around the fire pit with wine and Cheetos… so fun. If you’re like us, on most vacations you can find SOMETHING that didn’t work, right? Well, on this one, the only thing wrong was that we had to leave! And speaking of leaving, perhaps the best thing for us was that we could, with complete confidence, leave our dogs in our cabin without any hassle from the management… unlike most hotels where you can’t leave them alone at all, or if you can, they have to be in crates. Not here. They waited happily and comfy on the bed until we got back. After all, as much as we love them, a couple of 3 – 4 hours casino visits and/​or dinners out made it even better. For the price, it’s a tremendous bargain. And for you dog lovers, you haven’t lived until you curl up at night with your furry «kids» snuggled up with you, with the glow of the fireplace illuminating the cabin walls, while listening to the howl of the wind move thru the pines outside. All in all, perhaps our best trip ever. We can’t wait to go back.

Highly possible I will give 5 star if Holly pick up her phone. Called Holly the day before, always voice mail. Finally get hold of her in the morning gave out all my info for reservation. and noted Her me and my friend will arrive by 6pm. When we arrive by 6:08pm, then nobody is picking up the phone again. We left her tons voice message. Finally we found her place with a big sign on door. But this place/​yard/​cabin is completely empty. No body answer at all. No lights. Seems like a dead place. We really upset that she ditched us on vacation plan. Left us two girls in the dark out of no where. And not even reply any call or call for the person who suppose to show up by this time 8:02pm. Me and my friends had to do last hotel booking.
tip for whoever wanna book Holly’s place.

My family and I love love love Holly’s Place. We stayed there for the first time during 4th of July weekend and it was probably one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. We had 2 dogs accompany us and they were allowed to roam free on Holly’s property since there is a fence surrounding everything. It has a very community-​type vibe and Holly and her little dog Petee are sooo awesome. It’s in a good location. Walking distance to the beach and some grocery stores and restaurants, not walking distance to the casinos. I definitely recommend this place for families, dog people, and those who just like to sit back and relax!

We stayed at this place in April, 2014. Our two little dogs love this place, because they can run all over the place and play with Holly’s dogs.
We stayed in «Tisher», which is a tiny, independent studio with micro wave, kitchen, small fridge, dished, glassed, hand soup, lotion, 2 sets of clean towels for human being. blow dryer… etc. We got what we needed in this place, they even provided dogs bowl, towel, and treats.
Rainbow room has popcorn machine, guest fridge with water and coke inside, fruits.etc. You can made your breakfast here or jut hang out with others.
It’s a little bit pricey, but it’s very dog friendly and feels like home.

Holly’s is puppy owner’s dog vacation heaven!
I admit, when my husband said he «booked a cabin that dogs are welcome», I kinda scratched my head thinking we might be scratchin’ later. To my delight, the place is clean and rather charming. Holly and staff have taking time to not only make it pouch friendly but people friendly. The «rainbow room» lounge has coffee brewing, bunch of couches, a huge flatscreen, karaōke machine and full kitchen and dining set up. The cabin/​rooms have everything you need: including coffee maker, hot plate, micro, champagne glasses, foil, saran, wifi, hair dryer, welcome treats and towels for the pouch…
Doug, the grounds manager is a gem. He built us a fire both nights (without us asking) and lit candles outside our cabin. He joked with our 4 year old and got him to pitch in to shovel cedar chips.
It is hard to determine who had more fun:
Our son: roasting marshmallows, picking up pine cones, singing karaōke to ‘born to be wild’, raking cedar chips, chasing puppies or hanging out with the grounds manager Doug!

Our dog, Zeke: eating marshmallows (not his intended diet), sniffing pine cones, barking in the wild, rolling in cedar, chasing puppies or hanging out with the grounds manager’s dog, Wyatt!
If you’re looking for a place to vacation and bring your dog along, this is it! A great relaxing time will be had by all.

We first stayed at Holly’s place in Dec. 2011 to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and decided to take our 6 month old puppy. It was such a relaxing enjoyable experience so decided to go back Nov 2013. The experience was just as wonderful as the first time! Everything was clean, cozy and tidy. Our dogs enjoyed themselves the instant we arrived late Friday night close to midnight as they ran around, played with toys and were overwhelmed with excitement. It was not only a vacation for us but it was definitely a vacation for them. Great dog friendly place; can’t wait to go back!

Holly’s Place takes «Home away from Home» to a new level for both travelers and their dogs. Spent Thanksgiving here with them and they had a wonderful meal to share with all of the guests. The cabins are clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have picked a more dog friendly place to spend the holiday. As I write this I am in the kitchen/​TV room next to my dogs, one on the couch with me on a dog blanket and the other at my feet. The two acres of fenced property helps make sure my dogs are well exercised after running around the many pine trees on the grounds. We don’t want to leave tomorrow but reality calls. We’ll have one last night making s’mores at one of the fire-​pits before leaving. We highly recommend them.

Stayed in the cute and cozy Tisher cabin which was just perfect for our family. We really enjoyed hanging out in the Rainbow room at night talking with, and sharing wine with a few of the other guest. Holly is awesome and makes you feel welcome and a part of her family. We are already planning our next trip back in the spring!

As Cory told us, «Holly built this place for the dogs and we had to let humans come because dogs can’t drive.» If you are traveling with your pooch you will never find a better place to stay (I am one month and 5000 miles into a cross country road trip with my dog, trust me). They take dog friendly to the max and I will be forever spoiled.
The best part really is the adorable 6ft high fence made of large logs, which allows your dog to roam on their 2 acres walking right out of your sliding door into dog heaven. There are water bowls all around, several pooper scoopers and waste bag dispensers, buckets of dog toys, communal dog cookies (as well as some of holly’s homemade treats), and all the flowers are plastic so if they dig them up you can stick them back in. It is also a short one mile walk to regan beach — one of the only off leash beaches around the whole lake. And big perk is they will dog sit for your for a nominal fee is you want to head out on the town and leave the pup.
For humans, imagine this place as the home of your aunt. It has a very distinct taste to it, as Holly’s personal style abounds. For the most part it is well up kept, and the rainbow community room offers a large shared living room, well stocked kitchen and dining room. And there is always free popcorn available as a snack in their kettle popcorn maker. There are several outdoor fire pits available with wood, kindling and tons of pinecones provided. But really we two legged folks are here for the comfort of our four legged friends and that makes it all worth it.

My girl and I stayed here a few mo. back. We go to Tahoe often and love this place. I think the only drawback is that it’s hard to find at night if it’s your first time. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, clean place for you and your puppy. Oh and club house is very cool just to hang out in.

Holly’s Place is easy to miss, it is right next to a baseball field and playground and there is a wooden gate that you have to manually open to get in the property. There were some traffic and noise from little league games on Fri-​Sun, but nothing terrible.
The Tischer Suite was a small studio, but very private with no directly adjoining neighbors, gas fireplace heat was super nice. The small shower only stall was a bit claustrophobic and the small sinks in the kitchen and bath made a bit of a inconvenience but functional.
The power went out from an overloaded circuit, running the hot plate, the microwave, tv, and 2 cell phone chargers at the same time is too much of a strain. This was fixed in 10 min and didn’t happen again.
This is a minimalist B&B. Breakfast was in the Rainbow Room common area was make your own pancakes on a griddle, or fruit and cookies. The popcorn maker was really neat.
A short walk to the Lake was a huge plus, the main street had plenty of near by stores to visit on foot.
Holly and the other manager were really friendly, but unobtrusive. They live on property, but sometimes difficult to get a hold of in person if you need something. Usually there 12pm-​3pm, or when someone is checking in or out. I do not think there is daily house cleaning unless you special request it.
Make sure you ask for the wifi password at check-​in and also an extra roll of toilet paper as there is only one roll in the room and no extra that we could find.
Our dog had a blast, beautiful property and I would return again because it had very nice privacy.

What a gem! Our original hotel lost our reservation and we needed to find a dog-​friendly hotel that could accommodate 7 people quickly. Holly’s Place was recommended and now I know why. Holly and Karen are so welcoming and sweet, the grounds are pretty with a lot of room for the dogs to roam and the rec room has comfy couches and a big kitchen full of treats. The rooms are unique and cozy. Note that this place is more like a mom and pop compound/​bed and breakfast. It’s not your traditional hotel experience; very unique but a great place!

We stayed here with our 2 young labs at the end of May 2011. It was great because we were able to visit snow and the lake in the same weekend. Holly’s Place has plenty of room for dogs to run, but owners must be careful that their dogs don’t approach the gate when people come and go since the gate usually stays open for awhile.
The accommodations were cozy and the dogs had a wonderful time running around freely with the other dogs. Holly and Karen are great and were very helpful when we inquired about dog friendly beaches and restaurants. There is even a public dog park a few blocks away.
If your dogs need a vacation, bring them to Holly’s Place !

If you are a dog lover and you are looking for a peaceful place for you dog to romp with other dogs in a safe fenced in dog vacation villa this is the place!
We found Hollys place on a whim when we arrived in Tahoe with our Aussie and no where to stay. I had my handi dandy Unilocal app and searched «dog friendly lodging» and Holly’s came up. Don’t use the directions that Unilocal gives you because it’s wrong.
We finally figured out the address and went through the gate which keeps all the dogs safe and knocked on Hollys door and received a warm welcome. There are different little cottages as well as a 3 bedroom cabin available. There is a community «Rainbow Lodge» that has a huge kitchen as well a ping pong table TV and movies.
It kind of reminds you of what it would be like in the 60’s where everybody could get together and party in a totally casual, low keyed atmosphere where all types of people and dogs could have a great time!!!
If you are looking for fancy dancy type of resort this is not it. If you are laid back, willing to be open to meet friendly dog loving people with an environment where you can just be yourself and let your dog be free to explore and be with other dogs this is it!!!
