Description

Specialties

Repairing and restoring classic, vintage and older muscle cars. A service exclusively for mid-century GM, Ford, Chrysler, other American vehicles and many imports.

We are a mobile repair and component restoration service for classic and vintage cars and trucks. Owner Robert Blade’s technical experience with 1940s, 50’s, 60’s, and early 70’s vintages began just as the third decade of these «classics» were hitting the showrooms.

Mobile Service means that repairs are made where the car is garaged, stored, or displayed.

This service approach is designed for the convenience of the owner. Repairs are often performed promptly without relocating the vehicle. There is no need to search for a shop willing to attempt an unfamiliar repair, nor, risk to your classic while it sits waiting for a «present day shop to find and vet obsolete or used parts.

History

Established in 2006.

By 2005 Robert Blade recognized most modern repair shops no longer had the personnel or skill set to diagnose and repair technology associated with 50 year old cars. Vintage cars have electrical systems, generators, carburetors, distributors, and other obsolete components with which today’s technicians have little experience. Often repair problems on antiques are complicated by decades of neglect, imperfect patch repairs, and/or unwise modifications. When obsolete or rare parts are required, dismantled classic cars often gather dust waiting for obsolete parts. Apprenticed in a «Speed Shop» when many of these cars were new, and having overseen their service for 30 years as an automotive teacher, Mr. Blade established his mobile repair specializing in finding solutions for vintage vehicles exclusively. When parts are required the service specializes in finding the best possible solutions whether New Old Stock, used, aftermarket, or outright fabrications.
