Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center

This is the best, best western in Northern California. Fireplace rooms and patios are standard. Communal hottub. Close to the town square… Updated and spacious rooms… Really top notch.
We stay here often for business and pleasure. Can’t wait to return

We recently rented out the back 6 suites and conference room for 5 days for our wedding and we had a fantastic time! The fire pit was the center of the evening every night with cozy chairs and great with the gate to keep the kids in the courtyard. This was the perfect venue for our wedding, the rooms are large, dog friendly, fresh coffee in each room, extra towels for the hot tub, extra logs for our fireplace as it was rainy and it was perfect to have extra logs and towels and not have to call and ask for more. Our guests all had a great time, the front desk was super helpful, the breakfast was bountiful and the bottle of wine in the fridges were much appreciated. We live here in Sonoma and it was great to stay right on the Plaza, walk to all our activities, use the free Wi Fi, plenty of parking and we cannot recommend Sonoma Valley Inn and The Krug center enough. This is one of my favorite little inns in Sonoma! It is the perfect way to affordably enjoy the Wine Country and still feel pampered.
It’s a great value for the money — whether you want a family trip or a couple’s get-​away or a girls weekend (which is what we did).
The location is fantastic — steps from the charming Sonoma square and many great restaurants.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and comfortable, and the courtyard area with pool, hot tub and evening wine tasting could not have been more pleasant.
I highly recommend this hotel, and can’t wait to go back myself!

Great hotel– highly recommend staying here. Huge rooms with large bathroom, fireplace, sitting area, entire room was spotless clean. All rooms surround a lovely courtyard with pool and hot tub. Continental breakfast has several hot items and the breakfast room is large and spacious with patio are too! Staff was super friendly and accommodating– they were very knowledgeable about the area so they offered excellent suggestions for dinning and activities. I can’t imagine a better experience– would definitely stay here again during future visits.

I am a local of Sonoma Valley and have lived here all my life. I have been the personal Assistant to the Mayor of Sonoma for 8 years and have watched our town change. The one hotel that has remained a staple since its opening in 1987 my senior year at Sonoma High is The Sonoma Valley Inn. I can honestly say with all my heart I have a never sent a city guest or friend not even myself to another hotel unless this property was full. The experience begins with the hotel staff and for me in the past months it has been the addition of Paulie! He is now the face of the hotel. Everyone in town knows him and they adore his people skills and his knack for making a bad day turn into a glorious day! We have so many walks of life visit us here in our charming town and Paulie finds a way to connect with every single guest. I have been told they arrived as tourists and Paulie made them family members before checking out. Paulie has been able to juggle several tasks at once with requests being thrown at him from every direction but he never blinks… It’s a gift. I want to thank the owner and it’s mangers for making our local favorite home away from home that much better because of Paul’s presence. The list of amenities are too long to state but know if you don’t have it at the
Moment you arrive Paul will have it waiting for you within minutes. He too is a true blue Sonoma local and knows how to make everyone feel as though they too are born and raised here in Oz as I like to call it:) enjoy your stay here at the Inn and cheers from our Mayor and our city to you!

I was over charged on my credit card. Had to contact my card company, Best Western would not correct it. Was disappointed, showing there age not worth more than $ 150. Off season.
Staff was not very friendly, room was clean, bed was comfortable. Close to downtown.

This place is basically a motel and, if you keep that in mind, you won’t be disappointed. The rooms are huge and are set around a courtyard, with parking on the outside. The décor is as dreary as it always is in typical motels, but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is efficient. The free wifi is fast and the staff on duty when I was there were friendly.
What I particularly liked was the breakfast which had bacon and eggs and, crucially for me, a decent gluten free offering, with bread on request.

I’m very dissatisfied about the cleanliness. I usually bring my own disinfectant to do a quick cleaning if necessary. In the bathroom, there were lots of hair in the bathtub. Upon looking underneath the soap dish in the shower, it full of black molds, and it was very disgusting! Looking under the rim of the toilet, it too was filled with black molds! I can only imagine if the floor was cleaned. I used one of the hotel’s face towel to do my disinfecting. That face towel turned from white to black! Right under the edge of the bed I saw what appeared to be a prescription pill. That tells me that the carpet was not vaccumed properly if it was even done at all! The fireplace has not been cleaned for a while and it was full of soot! For the price they were charging, I was expecting decent level of cleanliness from a name brand hotel!

We were pleased with this hotel as a choice for our guests to stay for our wedding in Sonoma. This hotel is perfectly situated near Sonoma square. Very nice lobby area, rooms are comfortable with king bed and fireplace. We actually rented a block of rooms for our guests for our wedding in Sonoma. We additionally rented out their Krug event center and one meeting room for our rehearsal dinner. The courtyard space was so beautiful. The lighting and fire pit provided a lovely ambiance. It was the perfect space for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests still comment on how lovely the space was. Working with Hanne and Nikki was a pleasure and everything went as planned.

We only had a couple of days in the wine country, and Laci at the front desk spent a lot of time with us helping us narrow our selections. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We asked a lot of questions, and she made recommendations based on our requests. Every winery we visited at her suggestion was the perfect site for us. Her restaurant recommendations were terrific. Laci’s efforts were essential to our trip, and we are very grateful to her for her time and interest. Way to go, Laci!!!
The location of the property worked perfectly for us. It is located a block away from the Sonoma downtown square. It was convenient to the main roads for our exploration of the area. There is a Whole Foods across the street which made it easy to grab a quick bite if we needed it.
The rooms were surprisingly comfortable. I always think of BW as a «budget» hotel, which means smaller, less comfortable rooms. This hotel truly impressed. The rooms were big enough to move around in, and for two people with luggage to find places to put things. The sink area was outside the shower/​toilet, which made it easier for two people to get ready at the same time. Yet, the sink was separated from the sleeping area, so the room wasn’t claustrophobic.
We had a fireplace (one duraflame log provided complimentary each day), a balcony and a sufficient breakfast. Wifi included.
All in all, a terrific stay. Thanks everyone– especially Laci!

The TV remote did not work. The air conditioner cover was laying on the floor. The microwave failed twice. For almost $ 400 a night, it was a VERY POOR experience. There are far better places in Sonoma.

Wonderful location and OK accommodations, but the staff members need better training to make it a more pleasant experience. I expect better service when paying $ 323 for a night (on a holiday weekend), and you can get nicer, more hospitable hotels in Sonoma for that price.
What will keep me from going back is the lack of professionalism and follow-​through with the staff and manager. The hot tub didn’t work during the posted hours, and the woman at the front desk that night (who was very friendly) couldn’t reach the people on call to help her solve the issue. The maintenance guy also told me he didn’t know what the problem was and then left, but he never reported that back to the front desk, so I had to go back to update her that it wasn’t resolved. When I didn’t hear from the front desk the next day as promised, I called and spoke to a different clerk, who was rude and hung up without saying goodbye. She was unprofessional when I called down to the desk another time, and unfriendly in person when we checked out. She emailed the manager with details of my issue, and promised that Kendall would call me the next day, but I never heard from anyone. Now I’ll reach out to corporate.
Otherwise, things were OK for the majority of the 3-​night stay. Breakfast was free but kind of dismal, and empty toiletries weren’t replaced by housekeeping. Although we had a do-​not-​disturb sign on the door, the housekeeper walked in our room while I was half-​naked (she said she knocked but I was blow drying and didn’t hear it), and the front desk clerk responded to me that «she didn’t see anything,» which wasn’t very comforting. Another person at the desk offered us a free bottle of Cline wine for being understanding that they put us in a 2-​queen room instead of king, which was a nice gesture, but I would have preferred the room we requested.

Booked a regular room for two and it included a queen size bed, two-​person couch, tv, fridge, and a fireplace with a complimentary duraflame log. Walls are pretty thick so you don’t hear any conversations going on in the next room. Our room was on the first floor, so you automatically have a patio that leads into the middle of the hotel where the pool is. You also have access to a hot tub and a steam room.
The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard (7−10am). Yogurt, cereal, pancakes, muffins, bagels, eggs, ham, juice, etc. It was located in a separate building in the back, which I found weird because I’m so used to the breakfast room being somewhere near the lobby.
Location was perfect! It is literally right around the corner from Sonoma Square. It is also across the street from a Whole Foods and CVS/​Pharmacy. So everything you need or want to do is a 5 minute walk away.
As for the staff, I thought they could have been more professional. Although interesting, I didn’t need to hear the gossip/​drama going on in the back room while checking into the hotel. I also didn’t appreciate how twacked out the guy checking us in was either. He couldn’t even form a straight sentence and way too fidgety — he was definitely on one.
Other than that, it was a good stay for the weekend! I would definitely recommend it because we didn’t have to drive anywhere and the beds were amaaaaazingly comfortable. Haha.

This place did not really impress for the price tag. It was around $ 300 a night for a room that was not that clean and for staff that were not that nice. When I checked in on Unilocal,there was a deal for the room rate to be 15% off– but they said they couldn’t honor it because we had booked through Expedia. We didn’t book through Expedia though so that was confusing. I let it go though since it didn’t seem worth the hassle. Even when we checked in, the guy at the front desk had an attitude and was making fun of the other guests that we’re calling the front desk. Not the best impression.
The good thing about this place is its proximity to the Sonoma square where all the food and tasting rooms are. That made it worth the stay.

My cousin and I came here and stayed here for the weekend for a girls weekend, and this room was perfect! We had two queen sized beds, a nice large bathroom (with really good quality shampoo and soaps), fire place, and a outside balcony that leads right out to the hot tub and pool. The hot tub is super cute and open late! They might turn the bubbles off, but if you wanted to sit in it for a little longer, the staff is cool and will let you. The hotel is in great distance from downtown sonoma, its also very quiet for how surprisingly close it is to all the commotion. This hotel was a very nice hotel, and I would definitely stay here again!

We checked out the pool and jacuzzi area and it was nice. They even have a sitting area that had a firepit.
Breakfast on the first day, scrambled egg and chopped ham, muffins, outmeal, pancake, bagel, toast… Second day, bacon and the rest was the same. Breakfast area did not really get crowded and it is always well stacked. Try getting a room in the back so it’s a short walk to get to the breakfast area (they have it in the back building).
Totally worth it for the price! Whole foods across the street, close yo some restaurants. Although did not see much fast food. Lots of small shops around the area. 20 – 30 mins drive to Napa.

We used their Groupon special. Ideal place to stay as we didn’t realize how close meaning walking distance this place was from downtown Sonoma. The staff was all professional and great so checked in and out easy. Room was fine as we had 2 queens. The cool extra was there’s a fireplace — a real one with a log! You get the usual — coffee machine, hair dryer, nice Neutrogena products, refrigerator. Room was nice sized and there was a balcony.
I don’t have sleep issues but my girlfriend does so you may hear people yacking away early in the morning or one morning someone was walking with the rolling garbage can.
The breakfast was a nice for a comp. They had hot oatmeal ready for you and this neat pancake machine that you press a button and it falls out the other end. There were also scrambled eggs, sausage/​bacon, usual breads and coffee/​tea/​orange juice. Servers were very nice.
Across from the hotel was a strip mall — so if you needed anything it was right there. That’s really the best thing — you didn’t have to really drive. It was close to Hop Monk Tavern too, gas station, Dutch Bros.
So you can’t go wrong staying here for the money.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, and great breakfast. Our room had a cozy fireplace and the hotel provides logs for burning. This place has a pool and spa area in the courtyard too. Also, conveniently located directly across the street from whole foods market. Ask the front desk for tasting coupons to local wineries. They are good for free tastings and discounts on wine purchases :)

We stayed recently on a Groupon special and were basically pleased. We checked in an hour early without a problem and were given a room near the hot tub, which was what we requested. The room was nice, spacious, well appointed and clean… but not perfect. The sliding glass door to the patio was balky and the toilet made a loud, clunking noise when flushed.
The breakfast was disappointing. The pancakes were «flatter than a pancake», the coffees (both caf and decaf) were awful, the pastries were all totally unappetizing, the eggs appeared to be made from some powdered mix, the sausages looked almost raw. Next time we will probably stick to OJ, oatmeal and a bagel… and there will be a next time because, despite the deficiencies, it was a nice place and in a great location.

Good for the price, next to a large strip mall with most travelling needs met.
I would stay again. Cozy room, with fireplace and one of those magnified mirrors… THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER LOOK INTO!
