Hey people back at you again. Telling you about another food experience at the point diner in somers point NJ. I had the bacon cheese burger with fries and I must say that It was good and I enjoyed it. Yes it was good. So if you are ever in the area and you want a cheese burger try it. It’s good. Once again I am out.

We tried to love this place and give it a second chance, but its just gross. Terrible food, small portions and dirty. Get your act together and do it right or close the doors before someone gets sick. Never again.

Five stars for the waitstaff. The food is typical diner food. Lots of it and lots of choices. I have eaten here a few times. It’s very nice that it’s open 24 hours a day. The girl with the suntan is an excellent waitress. A real treat. Sorry I can’t remember her name. It is a fun and lively place even pretty late at night. It would be a whole lot easier to give this more stars if we were greeted nicely.

Still great after all these years. The hostess offered to turn off the fan because my daughter said she was cold, and did. My son has selective eating disorder, which means he has an extremely limited diet and requires food to be «just so» other will actually not eat. The waitress was super accommodating and explained his order to the cooks«floppy bacon“isn’t a usual order. Plus his requirements for individual plates. He also tried and loved the mozzarella sticks– so super win! My hubby ordered a pizza steak which also isn’t on the menu and the waitress explained that to the cooks too. Our food service was prompt, environment was clean, servers were happy and kind. The kids are all they could, and my husband and I were happy to see a favorite place is still a favorite for the whole family after all these years.

DOWNHILL. DIRTY. DISAPPOINTMENT. We used to look forward to going here twice yearly for over ten consecutive years while vacationing in Ocean City, but today was our last visit. Tabletop was not clean, and under the salt and pepper area was gross. Our server was nice, but just not good at her job. Their Chicken croquettes used to be the best, but they are now 1⁄3 of their original size and mainly breading. Our server completely forgot our soup, salads, and bread. She also gave us the wrong drink refills. Our dinners arrived too quickly, and portions are less than half of what they used to be. We did have early bird specials($ 10), but I wouldn’t pay $ 5 for the tiny portion they served(two meatball-sized croquettes and a scoop of mashed potatoes). We did order early bird specials, but we did not expect children’s portions. Also note, there are no free refills on the soft drink included with your early bird special. The free dessert is an extremely bland rice pudding or an even blander bread pudding.(We did not try the chocolate pudding or jello options.) The worst part was NOBODYCARED! Our server gave us our bread, soup, and salad to go, but was indifferent. No manager came over to speak with us. The cashier didn’t even ask how our meals were, say thank you, or even make eye contact. We are very disappointed and will not return.

We’ve eaten here several times over the years without an issue. Sunday morning(7⁄26) we ordered breakfast and were waiting when a roach crawled right across the table. Disgusting. None of the staff even seemed surprised. The waitress was incredibly nice about it. We stayed because not everyone wanted to leave. I’ll never go back. Roaches are filthy. Also, others in our party all said the bacon tasted funny & two people were sick later that day.

My boyfriend and I are frequent customers throughout the year here and every time we come, we get excellent service and the food is delicious. My favorites are their pork roll and cheese on a kaiser roll and the cream chipped beef is outstanding! I have never had a bad meal here and will continue to return!

It’s nothing special typical diner food. Breakfast was very disappointing, just get pancakes if you do… But at least it’s open 24 hours which is one of the only redeeming qualities of this establishment.

A Jersey Shore classic, I have been coming to the Point Diner to start my vacation since the 80s. On Saturday mornings in the summer, the place is packed, but the service is still efficient. The food is diner-perfection, and I highly recommend the scrapple.

The last two trips to this diner have revealed critically poor service, and insincere management. 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, while food sits, untouched at the table. Then another 20 to get a refill. I counted maybe a half dozen patrons in the restaurant. Tonight’s experience reduced your customer base by 2. I don’t care how good your food is. Bad service is insurmountable. Period.

We stopped in on the way home. It was one of the coldest days of the year(it had snowed the night before) and the waitress attempted to sit us at the door. I asked for another table because of the draft. By the way, did I mention we waited about 3 minutes to be acknowledged or seated. And, the restaurant was not crowded at all. We paid about $ 30 for breakfast for 2 people which I thought was a bit much considering the breakfast potatoes were not seasoned at all. The pancakes were okay. You can order pancakes with eggs or pancakes with sausage, but not both. So, I wasn’t impressed with the menu. My friend ordered french toast and enjoyed them. Our coffee wasn’t refreshed often although that was the only thing we requested when we sat down«keep the coffee coming». I enjoy diners, but not this one.

I love diners and this place has a great waterfront view, but the food was not fantastic. The bread of the tuna melt was soggy, the fries were stuck together and they charged me for a crab patty meal even though I just wanted a plain crab cake. The server was nice but didn’t refill my water.

I went there on a Friday night with my friend and his brother for dinner. My friend got a short stack of hot cakes and his brother got a bacon cheeseburger. I also got a cheeseburger which was quite delicious. The food was pretty good and the serving size was fair but the waitress is why this is getting a 2 star. We were sat right when we got there and we got our food fast, but it took 10 minutes to get the check after she took our plates. If it was busy I’d understand but there were only a handful of people there. Besides the check taking a while to come out, it was pretty good.

Diner was a solid choice! Great portions for the value! The food taste homemade and the list is very extensive. It’s pretty much what you would expect from a diner. However, the service wasn’t great. It took a little while for the food to come out and the waitress was constantly forgetting to check up on us and forgetting our orders. But the quality of the food made up for it on the most part.

Can’t give a 0 so I gave a one star. Its really bad when you can’t make a sala or french onion soup. I so happy its not the only diner in somerspoint now! To bad they didn’t bulldoze in under with the circle. noone would have noticed I’m sure. They drooped a tray one night it bounced the plate cut my gfs nose and they never said a were sorry. she got a «oh wow here’s a napkin to clean your blood».

I’ve been coming here about once a week for the past few months. Services is great(ask for Mike or Emily). They will let you know what’s good and have no problems substituting things. Quick and attentive. I’ve never had to wait to be seated, but I’ve only ever gone here for dinner. Food is good and comes out fast. Decent-sized menu but still has all of the diner classics you’re looking for. Best diner fries I have yet to be served in this state. Plenty of parking; easy to get in and out.

Nice location right before you enter OCEANCITY. It’s right before the bridge. Big size diner, lots of parking. You can’t miss it! Very nice friendly workers. Pretty big menu and you can get from breakfast, sandwiches, seafood, pasta, to burgers. The waiter was really nice & quick with our orders & food. I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks & I had a pizza burger. Which I had to pay extra for lettuce and tomato ! That’s part of my why they didn’t get 5 stars also they barely had most of the side orders on the menu like cole slaw, potato salad, rice or even much fries left. For a 24 hr diner I wouldn’t think u run out of so much food at once. The prices were decent and I enjoyed the location and staff. I would come back and hopefully they have much more selections I could choose from.

Breakfast has been okay here. However last Tuesday I stopped for dinner. Order the stuffed peppers that come on mashed potatoes. I asked my server if I could switch to a vegetable instead of the mashed. She told me she couldn’t do that. I ordered Manhattan clam chowder which is unusual to see available on a Tuesday. What a mistake I got obvious canned soup that tasted old or had been refrigerated. Then the peppers arrived. Never had them before with a load of cheese melted on same. Once I could find the stuffing it was a dry and bland with no seasoning. Stop for breakfast but pass on dinner.

Our service was quite speedy, especially for a Sunday morning. We were seated quickly and our waitress was attentive and efficient. Food was a bit slow but it was the«after church» hour so that was understandable. The family had breakfast and I had lunch; the best part of eating at a diner. It was all hot and delicious. I had the veggie pita which was delicious. They all had pancakes which were light and fluffy. The coffee was good and refilled in a timely manner. The décor is a great mix of old school with a just a touch of updating. It kind of reads Atlantic City casino in the ’90’s but it works. Most importantly it is scrupulously clean. Most of the window seats now have a view of the new bridge and a little glimpse of the bay. we sat in the back room though which had a T.V. for diversion. For a Shore joint, The Point Diner offers a great value.
