The doughnuts and pastries we purchased didn’t taste fresh at all. The red velvet and sour cream doughnut had a nasty funny taste to it and we couldn’t finish eating it. I’m so happy I didn’t order a birthday cake from here.

I’ve only had their blueberry and red velvet doughnuts, which were great. I will definitely be visiting again.

We had heard about this exceptionally GREAT bakery for years and years. An expensive bakery we were told but worth every dime. We were finally in the area during their business hours and decided to try them. We got a medium container of their«WORLDFAMOUS» chicken salad which was disgusting. You could taste vinegar or mustard, a heavy taste at that. Terrible. We bought an array of pastries and brownies. They short changed us two brownies, even after they confirmed the number we wanted. That was okay as after one bite they went in the garbage disposal. Their Danishes, we chose three different varieties were stale and not edible unless they were dunked in milk. Their cream horns or lady locks as I believer they call them, well we must say they WERE delicious. To say we were disappointed is a huge understatement. Publix has better baked goods at better prices than this highly overrated, over priced bakery. BIGTHUMBSDOWN! Their cream horns(lady locks) are all that saved us from giving them a rating of one star.

The best bakery in Smyrna! I was given a birthday cookie cake made by McEntyre’s and have been hooked since. Their selection is always amazing, the price is very reasonable, and you cannot beat the taste!

People as sweet as the cakes they make. And I know cakes. I shouldn’t know them as well as I do, but I do. So take my word for it. There’s something about the buttercream icing that just gets better as it sets into the cake. Not that it sits long around my house. I’m a grown woman yet look forward to every child’s birthday so I can order a cake from McIntyre’s. Heck, who needs birthdays for cake? Flag Day — cake. Columbus Day — cake. National Cake Day(not sure if there is one but there should be) — cake! They always whip stuff up quick and everything always looks cute. I tend to give them little instruction and call at the last minute and they always amaze me. I would totally hate me as a customer yet they’re always very polite and they never let me feel like I’m putting them out. And I like their whole«if it ain’t broke don’t fix it» philosophy. If they’ve been making cakes since the 40s, something is working.

My family has been getting every birthday and shower cake from McEntyre’s for about eight years now and every cake has been delicious. When I got engaged, it was a no brainer that I would go to McEntyre’s for my wedding cake and it was great! Admittedly, we wanted a simple cake, but our consultation was awesome. We actually sat down with one of the owners and he was so easy to work with and helpful. The cakes we chose were very reasonably priced, turned out exactly how we wanted, and we didn’t have any leftovers. That’s how good it was. The groom’s cake and the wedding cake were completely gone. I’ve never gone to a wedding where that’s happened. All in all, I’ve always loved the cakes I’ve gotten from this bakery and will continue to order from them.

Ok McIntyre’s… Here’s the deal! I love the bakery items here so I decide to try lunch & eat in the bakery for the 1st time today. Here’s my experience: I arrive at 12:00. There’s a woman behind the counter on the phone & one washing dishes, & there’s a gal waiting to be served… After 10 minutes I say«excuse me» to the one washing pans & she turns & looks at me. No hello or may I help you… She slowly & without a smile or apology helps us .I fill up my Coke & sit it down to grab a napkin & another employer proceeds to accidentally push my drink over the edge. Coke everywhere. Do I hear an «I’m sorry»? No ! Is it possible to hire pleasant smiling faces??? I have to go home now & change my Coke splattered clothes. Don’t make it so difficult to be supportive of small local businesses!

Good baked goods and sandwiches. We had they put minute she’s in the smoked turkey special and they were very good. It came with a side of pasta salad, potato salad, or chips. We opted for the pasta salad and it was plain, but good. We also tried a cookie and I cupcake and they were even better than the lunch. We are going to come back soon to try the donuts!

I want to love this bakery, but I simply can’t. The food tastes ok, but they got my order wrong. I ordered an 8″ round cake for my daughters birthday. I wanted it to have the rose swirls on it. The guy on the phone wasn’t sure what I meant, so I emailed them a picture. I received a response saying, no problem, order confirmed. When I went to pick up the cake, it looked NOTHING like the picture! The icing pattern was completely different. When I mentioned my disappointment, the girl said, «Oh, we don’t have the right tip to make the rose swirl icing, so we do this instead– its a pretty common request.» Ok… I have a few issues with this: 1. Why was I not informed? 2. Why was I not offered a discount when my order was wrong? 3. Why was I not apologized to? 4. The most obvious– IFTHISIS A COMMONREQUESTANDYOUARE A PROFESSIONALCAKESHOPTHENWHYDON’T YOUHAVETHERIGHTTIP!!!

They have done cakes for me twice now even one at the last minute — they have both tasted great and looked great! Prices are also very reasonable!

Seriously? I ordered their«special» which was a BLT and also a turkey and swiss sandwich. I asked for soup since the sandwich came with soup but she said no. She asked what kind of chips I wanted and I said no thanks to that and asked if I could get something else like pasta salad and she said no. I told her I didn’t want chips again and she said I didn’t have to take them if I didn’t want them. Well isn’t that generous… So I went to pay and there was no one in line and it took 12 minutes for them to ring me up, half of that was me waiting for them to ring me up since they were busy chatting about their week. Next, I asked about soup and they said it comes with the sandwich and I said I was told no. Then the girl runs over and says I can have soup with the 2nd sandwich but not the first. Huh? So, I went to my car after this 20 minute ordeal and was asked what took me so long since the place was empty. We got home and my BLT didn’t have any T and only 1 piece of bacon broke in half, a half piece for each side of the sandwich. LOTS of mayonnaise and a tiny slice of lettuce. Of course this BLT cost me $ 6.50!!! what a complete joke, they ripped me off. I threw out the whole thing and we made sandwiches at home. i might stop in one day and tell them but I had a bad experience there last month and all they offered was an apology. I should have gotten a refund or a replacement but they lack customer service leadership. This place is irritating.

I’ll start by admitting I’m not the easiest to please with baked goods. I have high standards so the fact that I’m impressed every time I pick something up from McEntyre’s speaks for itself! This is my go-to, around the corner bakery when I need to pick up something delicious. Their cake squares are perfect for showers or get togethers and if you order in advance you can get custom decorations on top. Larger than a petit four, they are the perfect bite sized treat. I had high-hopes for the mini croissants with pimento cheese but wasn’t overly impressed. They keep them refrigerated all day so it seemed quite soggy. All in all, a great go-to for anything bakery related!

Came in to check out our local bakery and did not expect to be greeted with a plethora of so many various treats! Cookies, macaroons, cupcakes, pies, donuts, breads, spreads, even some deli favs like chicken salad and pimento cheese! What a find! Was only going to try one item but ended up with a box full of various delights: gingerbread cookie for the little girl, fried apple pie for the little boy, Bavarian and sour cream donuts, and a macadamia nut cookie. Why not try a little bit of everything! I guess being in business for 65 years should tell it all! Will definitely be back… on a regular basis.

I was just so disappointed with Miranda at the cake tasting for my sisters wedding. Asked a simple question about the cake and oh wow was she rude. I’m in culinary school now so I know certain things and the questions I asked Miranda were very simple and she snapped at me and said«no that’s not simple at all» she was very rude and snide.

Great donuts, danish and other pastries. And a fun place to visit. Service is a little intermittent depending on who you get.

Oh how I love a bakery. This place was no different! There is just something special about being surrounded by delicious sweet treats in glass cases! I went specifically for some little cake squares. Amazing moist, almond-y squares of wedding cake goodness. Just the right amount of frosting too! Got some fun cupcakes for the kiddies, plus a cream cheese Danish that made my heart sing. Buttery pastry and sweet cream cheese are always a winning combo. They also make a delish chicken salad. Try the little mini croissants with chicken salad or pimiento cheese! Perfect snack bites!

I am revising my original rating of McEntyres Bakery after picking up an order last weekend. If I could give the bakery zero stars, I would. In fact. I couldn’t be paid to go there again. I am most upset with the bakery for their lack of professionalism. I ordered a gender reveal cake. Upon picking it up, they had the blue swatch attached the the order. In addition, the cake did not look like what the associate and I had discussed. I wanted a simple white cake– with light grey fondant circles(sounds simple, right?). The cake was white but the fondant circles were a deep purple. I was told they would fix this and to return in 30 minutes to pick up. I was in the grocery store when I received a call from the owner telling me he wasn’t going to do any work on this cake until I approved the color. He did agree with me that the fondant was not the color I had originally approved– but still refused to begin work until I returned. When I got back to the bakery I let them know I just wanted to take my cake as is. Knowing I would not give them business again, I wanted to leave as soon as possible. It was then they accidentally showed me the color swatch. Had I not felt that I would burst into tears, I would have spoken with someone about my experience in person. It was a terrible experience and not the owner or a single associate once apologized. And, the icing on the cake– metaphorically speaking– was when my husband and I cut the cake– it was three layers when I had requested and paid for four. Literally, the only thing they got right about this cake was making the outside white. I hope another bakery establishes itself in smyrna and fast. I believe McEntyres is busy because it is the only option in the area(other than big box grocery store). Since my experience, I have heard two more similar experiences from previous customers. I know that I, and they, would eagerly patronize another business and hope it either drives McEntyres out of forces them to raise their standards.

I feel bad for the folks that think this is a great bakery. They haven’t had the truly divine offerings of a 5 star bakery. Because this isn’t that. They are fine. Not bad, not great. Just fine if you are in Smyrna and don’t want to drive into Atlanta or even the perimeter Alon’s.

«Bakery» is one of my favorite words. When i walked in I wasn’t very impressed, but decided to give this place a try anyway. The cookies and pastries I tried were ok nothing to brag about, I’m not in a huge hurry to return here to try additional options.

After spending a few hours with my best friend and her parents looking at wedding dresses for her upcoming nuptials, we arrived here for a wedding cake tasting. I’ve driven past this place before a long time ago, but never gave it much thought. It’s a little ‘hole in the wall’ type of place, so surely it wouldn’t be packed, right? Imagine my surprise when throughout our visit, business was very steady, and there seemed to be no down time for the workers there. Maybe it could be advertising or maybe it’s word of mouth, but this place definitely does good business. There were too many treats to name, and I actually didn’t have any because of the wedding cake tasting, but because we arrived early, I did try their homemade chicken salad croissant meal, that’s served with a drink and your choice of either chips or pasta. I chose the pasta and it was pretty good, as was the chicks salad croissant.
The employees were all friendly and made sure everyone was taken care of and patiently waited for those who were still deciding on what they wanted to order. They even let me use their employee restroom. Most counties are required to have public restrooms and in was surprised that because this was an eatery that there went any public ones, but just ask and they won’t mind. Melissa helped guide us through the cake tasting, as she was very knowledgable. My friend had spoken with her ahead of time to let her know what she was looking for and Melissa had everything she wanted ready to try, along with a few other tasty options. All in all, we had a great experience. Everything was affordable, and everything was great. #Yelp100
